most of these early songs don't always have exact month/day/year annotations as i developed that a little later when my personal catalog started growing, so this is just 1990 sometime. written in the spirit of John Mclaughlin under who's spell my brother Michael the guitar player, Ed the drummer and I fell because of that Inner Mounting Flame album and that Mahavishnu Orchestra band of his. what an immense achievement merging the classical compositional techniques with the loud rock instrumentation and sound. nobody did it better. not simply a 'fusion' band, but something ethereal. it is difficult to render this and many songs in my head on just the acoustic piano, because songs like these sit on the rhythm and ride it with a lot of space, hence the endless tremolandos all over these recordings, but at least there's a record of the tune, otherwise i'd forgotten it long ago. big deal.
