I was in Minsk in 2018 and broke my clavicle . I was seen within 20 mins and was in plaster and left within an hour . Very good service and much faster than the NHS

I suggest you visit Gorki city in Mogilev region, where the Belarusian agricultural academy is situated - one of the oldest institution of this type in Europe, was founded in 1840. The botanical garden (doesn't work during days-off) is the best in the country. And there are a lot of pre-revolution buildings.

UK health service has disintegrated. Had to wait 9 months for an appointment.
Not medical advice, but in the end performed minor surgery on myself.
When I finally did get to see someone they said I’d done quite a good job. Next time I might fly to Belarus 🇧🇾 instead.

I am from Belarus. Hed two spine surgeries. Waiting time is two-three weeks, because you need to get all blood analysis. After that I got to go to rehab for 3 weeks. Never paid a penny) can't imagine how good my insurance should be in western countries to get this surgery...
in the USA you would pay maybe 700 - 800 usd / month to have an insurance that treats you that well, that is 25 % of US average salary, so less than 10 % of Americans have such insurances. The other 90 % have to pay fortunes like 30,000 usd if they break an arm. There are lots of videos online of Americans who break an arm or need a stomach operation for example and have to sell the house or get a mortgage to pay it.

what's interesting about the coup is that the Russian military barely reacted (due to them being highly centralized unlike other more mobile decentralized militarys in say countries like France) and actually allowed both their Rostov Army Southern HQ to be completely taken over as well as several helicopters to be shotdown while the convoy was heading to Voronezh. So although it lasted only 24 hours it was not as basic as you claim it took be; remember the Wagner fighters have access to more advanced weaponry and training than many of the regular army units they would have encountered on the way to Moscow or say the "national guard" which was seen in satellite photos blocking access to Moscow, this national guard is a joke and is basically Russian police used more to arresting protesters and not fighting actual battles.

Wagner were literally just let to advance, because Putin didn't want to risk an escalation and have to destroy one of his best assets. Why do you think those helicopters, that were fully capable of blasting the convoy from kilometers away, didn't actually fire at Wagner and got themselves shot instead? Because they were sent not to fight or defend, but to follow the convoy around The idea that Wagner could possibly do anything to Putin, with a fraction of the Force they used to take Bakhmut, without air and artillery support, is so incredibly dumb, that you'd have to be the most useful idiot in the world to take seriously.

Nothing is free. I’ve lived in two nationalized medical countries. Long waits, rationed care, who-you-know rules.

Love the debate between whether Irish or Belarusian healthcare is better. Meanwhile here in the US we don't even have healthcare unless you have money. Sure, there are problems with these systems, but at least they are made available.

@@rtwod2236 mb, all countries have + and -. In Belarus right now you cannot plan you future, and as IT guy I'm not sure that I will have a work in Belarus. I just compare 2 countries healthcare system and in Belarus it's better and cheaper.

@@jasoninthehood9726 better in my personal experience(of course I cannot compare every doctors and whole equipment). I have health issues and I compare luxmed doctors and Belarusians ones. And if you need to wait a lot to just get the diagnosis and in Belarus you can do it in the same date it's speed up recovery.
Healthcare is crumbling in Scotland and in the rest of Britain. So great Belarus has an excellent health system. Maybe not perfect,but not falling apart like Scotlands.

I can confirm that healthcare in Ireland is rubbish, was even speaking to an Indian guy living here who said that it was better back home than here. All this supposed wealth being kicked up and wasted.

So waiting time 9 hours and went home with pain killers,very scary.
In Australia for instance- queues for surgery span years unless it becomes so critical that is is life threatening. Hospital emergency barring red flag ones, take hours. Doctors charge anything they like in the private system because that's all you got if you don't want all day wait. Dental is NOT included as health care. Only pensioners get filling and extraction after waiting 6 months or so through public systems. In remote Australia it is even worse- no GPs in most places. Critical life care depends on voluntary Royal Flying doctor services. Just think of this - all these with only 25 million people what will happen when the population doubles!

It wouldn't be so nice when x-ray costs 10-15% of his/her salary. Btw If everything so bad in Ireland why I don't see irish doctors here in Belarus?

@@IrishPartizan thanks 🙏 I recently went to Durham cathedral and it was awesome and a beautiful city and made my home town look shite. But it cost a fortune the train was £200 and the hotel was £60 for the night for 2 and then there’s the food and stuff. I was looking at flights to Poland and a tour of the football stadium in Warsaw or krakow and it’s a actually cheaper than a train trip up the road. But I’m interested in seeing all the Soviet things in Belarus too.

My experience with healthcare in Russia is much better than in Scandinavia. Some of the equipment may be a couple of years behind, but the procedures and service is at a higher level. They look for the causes rather than give you a temporary fix, everything is quick and efficient (which was surprising given the bureaucracy in many areas) and of course more affordable. I could actually say the same about Ukraine (many years ago), although I only have one experience to base that on. I'm sure western healthcare is better in some specialized areas, but in general I'd prefer to get sick or have an accident in Russia.
The Russian Healthcare system has much longer waiting lists over the last 17 months, And expected to get a lot longer over the coming months.
Belarus isnt Russia. Mostly things are better in BLR:)

Appreciate your videos here in Seattle. One cannot trust the media here, or anywhere in the U.S. In fact, it's safer to presume the exact opposite of what they're saying. It's been that way for me since shortly after 9/11 when I entirely turned off the TV and cancelled Time magazine/ U.S. News/ Wall Street Journal and so on.

One tends to idealize what one knows not good enough.
Health care in Belarus has been on commercial tracks for a while too, is mostly symptomatic treatment (which means they treat symptoms not the reasons and desease itself), there's a serious problem with diagnosing - in fact, they may pass you round from one doctor to another diagnosing more and more deseases and prescribing a bunch of drugs.
On the good side, most hospitals are equipped with up-to-date medical equipment and one has access to a wide range of medicines in drugstores and may treat uncomplicated conditions himself without waiting to see his doctor for months.
It's a scary time with Belarus allowing Russia to attack Ukraine and now with Progozhin in Belarus. Could be a Wagner attack coming towards kiev again this may draw Belarus into the war.

when it comes to healthcare - You must realize the whole West must cater for an endless amount of immigrants, but the system is limited in its scope. For example, it seems in my native Poland the public healthcare system has taken over duties of its Ukrainian counterpart (without extra funding) and people are really pi$$ed Off, especially when it comes to situations when the natives are being sidelined and newcomers' motto is ''I am entitled to''. This isn't right. Let's imagine Belarus suddenly gets a few extra million of ''entitled'' Ukrainians and see how it copes :(

very interesting video... Are there any clinics / hospitals in Belarus where they speak English, for expats who don't speak Russian? It would also be interesting to do a video (or even a paid consulting service) about how you got your 1 year residence permit, and all the different ways to get such a permit, because there are increasingly more Western people interested in living in Belarus, giving the catastrophic social situation in the West... Look at what is going on in France, where I am right now because I have a holiday house there, although I am Spanish. Some of the clinics in the region where I have the house in France, in the centre, look worse than old Soviet clinics...and my mother has been waiting for more than 1 year to get a knee operation in the Spanish public healthcare system...and the French system is even worse. The "mighty France", the second "richest" country in the EU....and Spain, 4th EU economy and main candidate to G8.
