I’m extremely dyslexic and I didn’t find out I was till college when I professor pointed it out to me. I can’t understand some words like through, thought, those unless it’s in a sentence. So I wrote about children pageants and the harm it has on youth and I accidentally wrote children pregnant he asked me what the word said and I told him and he pointed it out I should get tested. Also I learned how to read and write from my mother who is dyslexic too. I learned how to read and write at the age of 3 so I didn’t need to be taught by my teachers and they didn’t catch it for years until college. I have a great memory and a history major so he probably has a great memory as well it goes hand in hand.
I sometimes misspell my name and stress makes it worse. It’s hard also when I see a picture of a killer whale I don’t know what it is till focus on it then I can see what it is.
I too happened to be dyslexic, but nobody suspected that I was. I have always been good at writing, and loved reading. I also tought myself english. By third grade I was able to watch movies without subtitles and even read english books. I played the piano, but even after 6 years playing I wasn’t able to read notes. My mom thought it was a little odd, so I got checked.
My grandpa and his siblings never really learned how to read. At that time helping by working and putting food on the table was more important than going to school. I would go to the store with my great aunt to help her read labels.
Marissa Figueroa my mom taught herself to read and write, because they couldn't afford school for all her siblings. This was when she was back in Mexico. It's awesome cause she has. Her own book collection now.
Social studies isn't useless! If You know the historical patters our sociology we can quit makeing the SAME mistakes people did in the past.Evaluating things in the past is a good way fir us to expand our mindset.
i think for me the moral of this is showing that you don’t have to give up just bc something hinders you there is always a way around an obstacle no matter how hard it is if you’re smart enough and willing enough you can do anything
oh man this shit is great. I always felt kinda shitty because of my dyslexia i didn't learn to read until i was 11-13, but this dude didn't learn until his 40s and still did hella good in life?? that's dope, i love him
I find it so hard to believe that throughout his entire life NO ONE picked up on the fact that he couldn't read except a child! Leave it to a kid to call you out on your shit because they definitely will.
Is there a place to get that checked out?? B/c I am starting to believe one of my family members might have it.. she reads slowly as if her brain can't assimilate if she were to read a paragraph or sentence at a normal rate. Has trouble remembering too.. Has a hard time making sense of what she is trying to say, like expressing herself through words. It's strange..
Holy crap! I was just watching The Donnellys aka Flippin Katie as they arrived at Playlist Live and who do I see trying on sunglasses right beside them? None other than the JKNEWS crew! I almost fell off the couch! Two of my favorite channels, side by side! Hope you guys enjoy your Playlist adventure.
Lol you guys were so right with the "every history teacher is a couch." All the male social studies teachers in my school are couches for the football team.
Ackshually, selling ANY drugs is illegal in the Netherlands. However, since softdrugs is less harmful than hard drugs, a toleration policy was put in place. There is a whole bunch of rules and regulation a coffeeshop has to follow in order not to get closed down. One of which is: You may only sell to citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (The Netherlands, Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten), which basically means TOURISTS GET OUT REEEEEEEEEEE. The whole thing is pretty weird. Also, not all coffeeshops are coffeeshops, some coffeeshops are actual coffeeshops.
Answer key from another teacher, and then he can see if it says a,b,c, or d And it might have been younger grade history where they didn’t have to write essays
As a dyslexic person you get good a remembering patterns but it is really hard to open up about being dyslexic. Especially since people think that if your dyslexic your an idiot.
Sorry last thing, I find it crazy that people feel embarrassed and alone like they don't believe that they're others like him, and what he has is common, mental health is common. But we are taught that having something "abnormal" means we're broken. We're not broken we just need to adjust and do things differently. I am amazed at how driven this man is.
WYNOLLO TV I don't think not being able to read is a mental health condition. please stop giving mental health a bad rep when it already has a bad rep.
Ana Carolina dyslexia is a mental illness, I myself have pure OCD. And in what way am I giving it a bad name ? Or rep. I'm always taking mental health seriously. I don't even think you read my comment right if you're getting this offended.
a m disability still, I'm mainly referring to people feeling embarrassed or ashamed of what they have because society views it as "broken" or "crazy" , "stupid" and that's not the case when people know what they have they can than learn to fix it. And live normally without feeling bad about it.
Actually I have dyslexia and some teachers admited to me them too even ones that taught many subjects English and other hevy reading subjects like History not k to 12 but even college level though they are very good teachers ad helped me improve my reading levle. Then when geting help with depression and anxiety I learned I got ADHD from the psychiatrist that was a factor I didn't know I had.
Ramsey Tsui ag I've found some students that need to go back when it comes to nursing, but you shouldn't cheat in general alot of high paying jobs require knowledge
how does it not make sense, don't cheat on science exams if you're trying to get into nursing or medical school, you want to understand the stuff you're learning cause you're most likely going to apply this information in nursing school.
Samantha Alison Melendrez I don't think teachers or even parents can spot other mental health issues that we have today. Should really be teaching that. But you're right they had no way of know.
Dyslexia is not a mental issue, is a cognitive issue that, depending on the severity degree, can be helped. Also, I live in Argentina and I'm studying to become a teacher and in my course of studies we learn to spot these cognitive issues so we can ask the pedagogical department of whatever school we work at to evaluate the kid so they can confirm and diagnose if infact he/she has a cognitive issue, a pathology or what have you. Maybe it's not like that in the states.
I need friends like him 😭 I wonder why he didn’t just go to night school for adults they have for free for foreigners and others who can’t read, write and speak English
WYNOLLO TV He didn’t know he had a disability he just thought he couldn’t read. Plus back then you didn’t have the internet so he didn’t know there where others like him

Social studies isn't useless! If You know the historical patters our sociology we can quit makeing the SAME mistakes people did in the past.Evaluating things in the past is a good way fir us to expand our mindset.
Cedar Everly I think he meant useless as in getting jobs and stuff
a m either way their boxed-in like mindset is disheartening and evident in other subjects
this is such a nice story my dad is also severely dyslexic and he used to do the same thing he'd look at the pictures in books and make up a story
i think for me the moral of this is showing that you don’t have to give up just bc something hinders you there is always a way around an obstacle no matter how hard it is if you’re smart enough and willing enough you can do anything
Love you guys !

Is there a place to get that checked out?? B/c I am starting to believe one of my family members might have it.. she reads slowly as if her brain can't assimilate if she were to read a paragraph or sentence at a normal rate. idk but my teacher said it in a meeting once and that was how I found out

Ana Carolina yep. I re read what I wrote (and fixed my grammar) still don't see where I said anything offensive.
Dyslexia isn't a mental illness it's a learning disability
a m disability still, I'm mainly referring to people feeling embarrassed or ashamed of what they have because society views it as "broken" or "crazy" , "stupid" and that's not the case when people know what they have they can than learn to fix it. And live normally without feeling bad about it.

Unless you're planning to get to Nursing School or Medical School, don't cheat. Cause you can't cheat your future patient.
Ramsey Tsui ag I've found some students that need to go back when it comes to nursing, but you shouldn't cheat in general alot of high paying jobs require knowledge
Sure you can, just go into “natural cures”
Paul Garcia people fake that too 😂😂😂
Ramsey Tsui wait this doesn’t make sense, so I should cheat for nursing?
how does it not make sense, don't cheat on science exams if you're trying to get into nursing or medical school, you want to understand the stuff you're learning cause you're most likely going to apply this information in nursing school.
I don't know how you can go through life not being able to read. EVERYTHING requires you to read.
I don’t think Bart knows numbers since he said 80,0085 for boobs lol
That's Nikki and Steve when Steve was lying
I can't live with a secret like this for that long. I am not good at faking!
I didn't even know Julia isn't even on jknews for over 2 weeks
He was so close to getting an achievement and unlocking a secret item...
Last 50 years without the Reading skill and not telling anyone: failed
Me! Been faking math this whole time almost in the mortuary science program 💪🏻🙂
Sometimes it takes a lot more effort to maintain a lie than to just do the work.
My problem is that i know how to read and i understand what I'm reading, but i cant read out loud or comprehend what I'm saying when i do so.
ï wouldve gotten away with it if it wasnt for you meddling kids!
My life is a lie
Rebaone Kgoadi noooooooo*glass shatters*

How did he grade his students work
You can’t fake it now! I’ve tried lol...I’ve taken the gk test twice for teaching and still managed to fail half of it.
Gen. G. but this guy was persistent. He would of befriended the test teachers wife then con a favor from them into passing him.
Can somebody make a movie out of this
...and he lived happily ever after
Hey Jared, can you read number 20? Uh no I can’t. What’s up? I’m Jared, I’m 19 and I never fucking learned how to read.
why does he look like steve greene in the first two pics
Back then people weren't open about these kinds of things, I don't even think teachers were trained to spot these cognitive desorders.

So a kid called him out when no adult picked it up. Brutally honest kids make me laugh until they point out your flaws.

I think he was embarrassed about his disability.
WYNOLLO TV He didn’t know he had a disability he just thought he couldn’t read. Plus back then you didn’t have the internet so he didn’t know there where others like him
Paul Garcia true true.
I mean if he made it. Good for him
He was an English Teacher
what if he lied about lying about how he could read
