It’s pretty much perspective. It’s like if someone came to America and bought American flag clothes or accessories. What’s tacky or pointless to us may be interesting or cool to others. And vice versa.
If you go to Vietnam you MUST get Snakewine. It's a dead snake soaked in rice wine. But you got to send it back home via mail. Customs doesn't allow it. When you go to Idaho go visit the Idaho Potato Museum and get a potato keychain
Hey same here in Singapore! We're always asking friends to get elephant pants whenever they go to Cambodia! Well its common among university students though.
From an Australian, crappy $5 boomerangs (Made in China) are pretty pointless. If anyone has ever tried to use them, they never fly properly and break as soon as they hit the ground.
Who wrote this article???? As a Canadian maple is amazing and tastes way different. And people around the world dont have access to actual maple syrup, my cousins in Japan have never tasted it before
Canadian here. If you want really good syrup, you gotta go find the places with the pure syrup. Those glass maple leaf bottles most likely just have Aunt Jemima in them loool
Pffft pure maple syrup is like $8-15 depending on the type you're getting. That's not cheap. Most of us use Aunt Jamima's and such ("table syrup") because it's more affordable XD
Man, my experience of India couldn't have been more of the opposite... I remember calling my bank to inform them that I may be withdrawing cash within india, the rep on the other line initially spoke with an "american" accent (i'm british) but as soon as I said I was going to india he broke character and wished me the happiest experience, this guy was just working for my bank hahaha but he went on and on about how great of a trip i'd be in for. He informed me that India were known to be some of the most hospitable group of people. He wasn't wrong, had a blast going around Rajasthan visiting the golden triangle amongst other places. I have to say, the majority of people are so pleasant. We'd be lost without their help and some went above and beyond not even expecting tip (getting mobile data to work was a nightmare but my god their 4G works nearly everywhere and better than any place in the U.K). We were just a group of chinese "students" just enjoying North India on a budget and it's still one of the most memorable trips we've experienced. Nevermind what David says, besides a few inconveniences like persistent tuktuk drivers and child beggars (thank fuck, I had to take a mad shit and one of those kids directed me to a toilet, snuck 100 in his palm for saving my boxers) it was an unforgettable experience. I'm personally not too spiritual but seeing the place go through their rituals was just awesome, we even got invited to a muslim family's eid celebration and saw a goat slaughtered and cut down to it's hoofs. Fucking awesome. Oh man, the Ganesh raves were nuts there too.
Man boze is so dope. I wonder how they got her to come on the show or if she asked to be on the show. All I know is that they have had people from smosh on jk news a couple times.
Kangaroo is a very lean meat, quite tasty. However it can be easy to turn chewy, gotta cook it right. And yes, kangaroo scrotum are taxidermied and turned into a bunch of stuff usually key chains or coin purses, the fur is soft too. If you are going to get souvenirs try to get local handcrafted items (small time farmers markets are great or wine tours with local painters and artisans) You're getting a brilliant piece of artwork and helping local people.
Kangaroos taste awesome! I'm an Australian and kangaroo is something my family eats whenever we can. You can buy it in all supermarkets in the meat section. Marinaded, plain, it's all good. Koalas only eat eucalyptus leaves. And, don't forget that we have the world's 10 deadliest animals all on our continent as well :) Come visit, it's an awesome place!!
I'm Canadian and I've only ever used Aunt Jemima's maple syrup. Never really tried other real maple syrup because it's expensive and I've just gotten used to the taste
The syrup problem is that getting at a gift shop is crazy expensive, just go to the grocery story and spend less than $15, rather than around $50 for a smaller bottle in the shape of a maple leaf.
Being from Canada buying the maple syrup bottles thay are in the shape of a maple leaf is really kind of stupid. It costs so much more because of the glass. Just go to a Walmart and you can buy a liter of it when you visit.
yea lol even in minnesota, and a lot of other northern states, you can buy it by the jug at the store because we also make pure syrup. Tbh, I'm not sure why they don't ship it out to other states as well, as everyone seems to be saying they only get canadian syrup, but it's super expensive. We have plenty of maple trees
I've had lots of friends from Canada who lived overseas, and the one constant thing they miss the most is the real Canadian Maple Syrup, because what's available in their host country either is mediocre, fake colored caramel sugar, or is expensive Canadian syrup because it's imported. People always be taking what they have for granted just because it's easily available within arms reach...but the moment they lose that, they regret it.
I have those pants in the picture from Thailand. They look similar. I have to check lol. I have a purse and a wallet from there that my dad saw being made on the street. It is really well made.
can I just say my grandparents had one of those wooden coo-coo clocks but we're mostly German on that side so I would buy something like that again because it reminds me of childhood
For the maple syrup it's not about not buying it altogether, it's about not buying it from a souvenir shop because it's way more expensive than at the grocery store
My go-to souvenir is the local papers. It has the date, the location(city/country) and what's happening at the time while you're there printed all on one page. If it's in another language it's even better. All probably under $2. And it's for sure made locally.
Boze looks like the human version of Sandy Cheeks
lmao!!
I'm just as white as that Mona Lisa
I'm just as black as my cousin ______

It’s pretty much perspective. It’s like if someone came to America and bought American flag clothes or accessories. What’s tacky or pointless to us may be interesting or cool to others. And vice versa.
ItsABriMoment but Americans wear flags as shirts though. These are things people you live there don't even buy lmao
If you go to Vietnam you MUST get Snakewine. It's a dead snake soaked in rice wine. But you got to send it back home via mail. Customs doesn't allow it.
When you go to Idaho go visit the Idaho Potato Museum and get a potato keychain
Viet Lee aww man, I shoulda got that when I went to Vietnam three years ago lmao, rice wine taste so yummeh

Hey same here in Singapore! We're always asking friends to get elephant pants whenever they go to Cambodia! Well its common among university students though.
I love then elephant pants too! They so comfy. I love wearing them at home until they're ripped to shreads... then i know it's time to go back
So it's popular in Asia?
Who cares
Shu Cat im a uni student in SG and thats so true lmao
I laughed at the elephant pants because I work at a thrift store and those are one of the MOST donated items...obviously a mistake haha
From an Australian, crappy $5 boomerangs (Made in China) are pretty pointless. If anyone has ever tried to use them, they never fly properly and break as soon as they hit the ground.

Oh man, the Ganesh raves were nuts there too.
David should just hide Taika and tell Geo she has to go with him in his Honda Element to get Taika.
Man boze is so dope. I wonder how they got her to come on the show or if she asked to be on the show. All I know is that they have had people from smosh on jk news a couple times.

OMG. You guys killed me when you guys started talking about the accent part. I fucking died. LMAO.

David’s laugh brings me joy.

My phone broke 4 days ago so it’s a jk marathon now that it’s back yayy

David: it look like God was drunk one night

For the maple syrup it's not about not buying it altogether, it's about not buying it from a souvenir shop because it's way more expensive than at the grocery store
LMFAO I was no expecting a wet koala to look like that
My go-to souvenir is the local papers. It has the date, the location(city/country) and what's happening at the time while you're there printed all on one page. If it's in another language it's even better. All probably under $2. And it's for sure made locally.
Boze’s accent is so funny, but cool haha
David hit it on the nail with the India thing
