Great video Joe as always. Will be a very thorough job once you've done the cavity wax too. I have done this outside before as we're lucky enough to have a big driveway but like you say really not ideal outdoor job especially in the winter!
Cheers Stew! 😁 I run arch liners all round anyway and I've avoided side skirts for the same "rot trap" reason 😬 this is very much a case of "no such thing as TOO MUCH rustproofing"
If your cento has a sunroof, the drainage holes at the corner of the sunroof tunnel down the A pillars. The end of the tunnel then falls into a cavity chamber running along each side of the cento. Once the drainage water from the sunroof reaches this cavity it goes out a hole in the bottom, each end of each chamber has two holes. So be careful NOT to cavity wax those chambers, if you do then incremental drainage from your sunroof will build up in there over time. Hope my description makes sense!
Good job mate, just catching up on your videos! I get an undercoating done on Humdrum at a local shop every year, which includes them spraying it up and into the factory holes. A few days ago we stripped the rear interior out so I could SLATHER the inside of the rear quarters in undercoating sealant (where I keep getting rust coming back on the rear-right quarter from that accident repair). Several broken clips and a don't-know-where-it-goes bolt later and those rear quarters should be safe from rust for a good long time yet! :)
@@MillerCorner I'm trying! Yeah, winters here are not pretty...glad to see the SS getting the love it deserves! Have to catch up on your more power announcement tomorrow! :D
I used the waxoyl brush on stuff when I did mine a couple of years back Exactly the same, wire brush and rust kill scabby bits technique, but it's far more suitef to doing outside on wheel ramps than the spray on stuff, and being brush on means less masking too 😊 did the whole lot in a day a couple of years back, just before the new exhaust went in, so didn't even matter if I got it painty 😂 And god that fuel tank's big 😂 about double the size of a 126's 😉
Great video! Currently welding mine around the sill where the crud trap is, totally rotton 🤦 also snapped all the fuel tank bolts... And also no idea what those wierd plastic things going into the tank are 😂
I hope you made sure anything under sealed was bone dry before application as the rubberised stuff can cause sweating and cause rust between the metal and under seal also if you can put a few low power anti frost tube heaters under the car and leave them running for 3-4 days this time of year it really don’t like to dry even in a garage apart from that joe amazing job nice little car also I’d get some of the paint with a brush under seal that’s not rubbery and do all over your new tank when you get it them tanks are prone to rust between the body of the car and the tank and i hope you didn’t get any on your brake lines as if they are painted with anything can be an instant mot failure because they can’t see the condition of the lines maybe a clear up video on under seal before you get half a ton of abuse because they fail an mot or cause more rust doing it your a top lad but remember not many people have any common sense
My old mk1 yaris had really rusty bolts going into the exhaust clamp where there's a gasket. I tried everything to get them out, I soaked them with everything I could find, tried hanging off the nuts with a long breaker bar and socket with my whole body weight, blow torch as well, nothing would touch it. I had to scrap my yaris because of this issue ( the new bolts clamp and gasket was only £10 off ebay and the garage were quoting me around £400 labour time) the leaking gasket was sending exhaust fumes before the cat straight through my dash air vents which was making me light headed and sick feeling.... I bloody hate rust!
Great video as always. Enjoyed watching it, although rust is not an issue here in Greece. My 1999 spi is spotless from any kind of surface rust, dinner off the floor pan job...
Awesome video once again👌🏼 rust is such a Touchy subject. Noticed that in my punto video😂 but anyway it's better to care of it with given possibilities than nothing at all. Looks really good!
At least it ain't a rust bucket Rover, even though my 75 is by BMW, seems to be getting some surface rust that is escalating, not exactly something you can do on the side of the road though :p
A useful video for me as I will be doing this to the Mini very soon (I hope 🤞) only I don't have full on workshop ramps so that should make it interesting 😂 Looking good! Making me more determined to just get on with it myself now 😂

Love how much your Dad gets involved with the Super Seicento
What a hero 👌
Lovely Jubbly, especially lucky to have a dad who as access to tools and a ramp.

It does, thanks very much!

Thanks bud :D good on ya, keep her protected! British winters are hard on cars, I dread to think what Canadian winters do to them 😬

Good on ya bud, I'd make rust checks a weekly thing on a 126 😬

An informative video Joe, and it's good to see work being done on the nugget.

Cheers Dan! To clarify, the car was bone dry, having been sat indoors for two weeks and the new tank will indeed get rustproofed before installing 😁
Really good guide this mate 👍 I've started doing this on the white eg civic
Good man! It's definitely worth doing 👍

good job, now time to install a bad ass sound system

The smelly thing is a vapour valve that goes to the charcoal cannister. Be gentle to it they're made anymore 😉

Make it happen, dude! 😁

Check out my "Broken Brakes" video where I do exactly that! :D
