Looks gorgeous man, awesome job!
A father/son project is a beautiful thing, and a great memory
Couldn't say it better myself!

As a son of a disinterested father I am more than envious that you did such a project with your dad. Fantastic job, Joe. I hope you keep this bike for a long time and get an enormous amount of pleasure from it.
Thanks David, this project really meant a lot! The Kawasaki is with me for life now 😁
Fantastic job guys! Man i wish i had the skills to restore my ER-5 :(
Nothing you can't learn with some research and practice! I'm an idiot with no qualifications or mechanical abilities, I just had a go! :D
Absolutely awesome job! I cannot wait for a driving video going over the experience!
Thanks dude 😁
The bike looks lovely! I have a low mileage ER-5 myself that needs some TLC, paint and chrome quality is horrible on this bike so it needs a full cosmetic makeover (rust everywhere). After watching your video I think I will get the frame and swingarm sandblasted and possibly powdercoated though :)
Good man! Best of luck :D
yout video help me a lota peace from israel and thank you sir
You sir have inspired me to get off my arse and get my er5 mot’d.
Thanks Barry, good luck! 😁
I remember watching this the first time around and thinking that colour scheme works so well. I saw a H1 a few years back that had been done similarly. My full test was on a ER5, I used to love the lessons riding around on that.
They're an awesome bike, thanks man 😁
5:33 did you miss the pile of bright orange buckets?
Watched first time.. still excellent now though:)
Im too old/sick for a real bike,,but quite fancy an old school moped as a project for the summer..
Do it! Great bit of cheap fun that you can tinker on :D
How can you drive it if A2 limit is 35 kW of power and the bike has 37?
You seem to be the most involved guy with these small fiat engines, could you tell me, would a 16v head from another 1242 FIRE fit on to my 1242cc 8v fire engine? It makes 69hp in its stock form, ahh if there was a way to get it up to around the 85hp mark that would be amazing ?!
Probably not - totally different wiring loom, ECU and electronic throttle :/ if it was easily and cheaply doable, I'd have done it!
@MillerCorner yeah I thought that would be the case 👍
this is the video i needed to see, going to sort my own ER5 out after it being backseated for an SV1000s for over a year! ps, where did you get your new radiator & fan? that’s my main part i need!
Good man, good luck! The radiator was from a bike parts place (just Google "Kawasaki ER5 Radiator") and the fan was second hand off a Facebook group 😁
