That mini-jam at the end was really good!
+WRPD haha yeah. Jordan was showing me around his GeoShred app.
Why's Jordan referring 'they' and not 'we' while talking about Dream Theater? Is it the 'new-guy syndrome'?
I believe he was just giving credit to the legacy that DT created more than a decade before he joined. JR's influence on DT cannot be understated, but in this case I think he just wanted to give credit where credit was due. MP, JM, and JP wanted to combine Iron Maiden with Rush and they changed music history by doing so. JR is incredibly humble in general, but here we were discussing DTs role in the progression of progressive music and he was speaking about them in the past tense.

I see. Thanks for clearing it up to me.
Sure!! Thanks for watching!
do you think music will ever go away or music as a career? I fear that music might take a turn for the worse in the future. both in quality and the ability to do this for a living
this has been a great series, hope to see more prog related videos in the future
+Karlo Jelincic Thanks! Definitely stay tuned as there will be more Prog!
Jordan, I totally remember putting my head between the speakers! Those were the days boy!!!
Me too. Lying on the floor of my bedroom with the speakers on both sides of my head.
I need to listen to that GeoShred version of The Spirit Carries On that Jordan plays at the beginning!
Great episode. Keep it coming, an amazing series overall!
+nikatapi thanks!
Dream Theater is The Best ...no doubt and is nothing short of amazing...what they have created thru the decades..Long Life Kings Of Progressive Rock
There are several albums that I still listen to all the way through. I still find Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime" a great album to just sit and listen to. I will pick an album and listen to the whole thing while I work on my computer at home.
I remember when I heard the song "Pull Me Under" right after the album came out. I thought it was the most unique sound I had ever heard from what I thought was a metal band. I wasn't really familiar with the term "Prog-Rock or Prog-Metal" at that time.
Jordan is absolutely truly a musical sensation👍👍👍
Amazing series ! Really glad I stumbled on this channel. You can feel the respect for the artist interviewed in these videos.
thanks! glad you found us=-) (says biggest dream theater fan ever...)
theyre keeping music truly alive indeed
+Dunford00 agreed.
This is awesome. Great interview, beautiful footage, great editing.
+CarterFilm Video Productions awesome thanks!
I knew Jordan was thinking about Genesis when he played "the X aspect" the first time I heard that song I couldn't remember that back in the days I played Horizons by Genesis, or it could be pretty much sonata first movement for cello by Bach in really slow motion. really cool interview btw, keep the good stuff coming up!!!
Hey thanks! We will!
This has become one of my favourite youtube channels for musicians interviews within a very short time. I am always stoked on whos being next. Keep up the good work!
We are completely honored and will work hard to earn your continued support!
It would be amazing if you could get Tomas Haake, Marten Hagstrom or Fredrik Thordendal from Meshuggah
+t3hgir would absolutely love that. Just a timing/touring schedule and of course if they want to be interviewed.
Excellent interview... excellent series, really love the way all episodes were made. Hoping for more Prog related stuff in the near future.
Thank! I'm a huge prog fan(obviously) so we will definitely will cover more prog, along with all things rock and metal \m/ should we bring back this series??
+FreqsTV definitely! I really like your channel because every episode is not like the typical band interview, you are giving a different insight of every band/artist and the genre they are part of, and for me that's more interesting.
+Kenneth Ramírez Marín great that you picked up on that. That is our absolute mission! #CuzItAintOnMTV
Great Interview, Jordan Rudess a True PROGRESSIVE musician. Seen The Astonishing live twice. MR Rudess I salute you sir .
+Anthony Wright thanks! The Astonishing live was awesome!
I believe the footage was taken in Meistersingerhalle, Nuremberg / Germany. It was on 14th of March 2016, and I was there.
Awesome... now prog is basically 00-00-000000-0000--0000.. hope this goes away asap.
