Great review, man!
Thanks gents, keep pumping out awesome stoke for us (vids and products)!! 🤙🏼
Nice review brother.. I hope that soon you can make a video comparing the enduro and the street pro tire 🤘🏻
Bonus Filming Fact - the garage talk happened 2 nights later cause my allergies were that bad. I pulled that sweaty shirt out of the dirty hamper for video continuity (which is why it was wrinkled later) ....good thing I could barely smell anything 😜
Do you have a P.O. box or somewhere else I could send a fender delete I've been working on?
Good stuff! I’m curious about the VRH by Land Surf as well. Outside of a couple quirks a variable solution would seem to be the best unless there’s a perfect W to be had from fixed that gives you that low center of gravity, along with good clearance 🤔 Love your vids and your characters. You need to start your own Mr. Rodgers channel. Good vibes!
Yea, the VRH are a genius product! I was tempted to get those, but I usually ride trails, so as much as I wanted a lower ride, I also needed the clearance. The real solution is to have TWO boards! One for streets and one for trails haha... I'm already broke tho, Mikey is the cheapest assistant I could afford 😅
I'm guessing you could probably do both!
Hi dude, Great review, was also wondering what your weight is and what PSI you run with on the GT Enduro. Also do you ride at different PSI for street / trails?
Thx! I weigh around 145 and run about 14 PSI on average. Occasionally I'll lower it 1-2 PSI if the trails are particularly chunky, but usually don't have to since I'm light. I'm more likely to raise it to 18 PSI for big/long group rides where I know it'll be mostly paved, just to eek out more range and have a carvier ride. Besides, it's easier to let out air at any time if needed!
Thanks for the video. I've been dying for WTF content while I wait for my raw aluminum ones to get in.
Love the shirt. Getting my 5 year old on it
Sweet!
Love your videos and great production quality! I’m rockin’ the mustache rails and love them but am super curious about the steep and deeps. Will probably be my next set and I think I’ll do a comparison video.
Hello there! I recently installed the WTF rails (low riders) on my Onewheel GT and realized I can't use the fender delete anymore. I purchased the Drop Top (Fender Base Pieces Only) (GT/GT-S) from Float life but I think I would need to use spacers and longer screws. Can you please let me know what type of screws are you using in min 10:55? Do you have a link for them?
Thanks in advance!
Hi! It looks like the spacers needed for the low riders can be 3d printed with these files: www.thingiverse.com/thing:6206443
If you don't have a 3D printer, you can grab the files and pay to have them printed from a site like www.shapeways.com/
As far as the screws go, I can't recall where I stole them from...definitely another fender kit set of screws I had laying around. I suggest just shooting a msg to The Float Life and inquire. They are usually super helpful!
I got my WTF Rails installed, everything looks great. All has worked well for about 200 miles now, but my GT now suddenly turns off mid-ride around 17mph. First I thought it was me, but it just happened again another 50 miles later. It's like it just brakes and completely tosses me on my face. All connections look great. When I pick myself back up and inspect the board, it's already shut off on its own. Any ideas what it could be?
Oh man, that's scary. If you checked the external plugs, the only other one I heard of that can get loose is the xt-60 cable INSIDE the controller box. Google it for more info, it's fixable, or you can buy a cable clip like this one here: www.etsy.com/listing/1486819900/onewheel-gt-xt-60-clip
@@ThatsGinterEV thank you for the info!
Original WTF rails for the XR were the best upgrade, even without a tilt kit of any kind
How do they compare to mustache rails? I'm trying to decide on which one to get. I ride mostly street but I'm starting to get more into trails
The mustache rails have a high COG and won’t feel as stable as the Ws but both do the same thing. It’s a personal preference, but Ws are more stable
the mustache rails are a 1/4" drop & the wtf's 1/2"
W's all day, steeper footpad angle, lower CG. With NRF level its a no-brainer, Mustaches are a very subtle change to standard rails
Can you suggest any tutorials on how to flash the GT via 3rd party? I just installed WTF and that nose tilt is annoying. Thanks!!!
I just picked up the Steep and Deep WTFs and will have to re-level them again...I'll try and record a quick tutorial on how I do it with testflight.apple.com/join/1Agva4HU?mibextid=uc01c0
You are a good reviewer, you have a decent understanding and are cautious to not spread misinformation, great stuff
Thanks Sam! I try not to get blinded by the hype and give my honest opinion, even the negative stuff! But ya...these rails sure are tasty! 😜
I bailed when he masked up
thumbs down
Have the mustaches but want to try the steep and deep
Hell yah Steve! I just got my GT today, and got the WTFS last week. I will send you a photo once I have it all together. (waiting for my Enduro to ship)
Nice!! Can't wait to see it! 🤘🏼
You're my go to for upgrades! Great work.
Good stuff!
less Goooo🤙🏾
No Vesc needed right?
just got my WTF's on yesterday already a game changer! and only a few miles on them!
🤘🏼 Awesome! 🤘🏼
Oh no! What caused that nosedive @ 3:55??
Me unfortunately. I got a little cocky and attempted to accelerate harder then usual. It's a pretty steep climb (hard to tell with the 360 wide angle) and I thought I could oomph out more towards the top... I was wrong 😅
😍😍😍
Nice review sir!
Super cool channel 😎 what tyre is that may i ask?
Hey Craig, thanks! It's the Endure tire for the GT (they also make it for XR and Pint). thefloatlife.com/collections/tires-bearings/products/tfl-enduro-tire-gt-compatible
Sick looking board
When you had that nose dive that you showed going up hill, had you already releveled the board?
Hey Stephen - ya, it was leveled. It's definitely user error though, I've made it up that hill on stock rails many times before. I pushed it a bit harder then I should have to see what I could get away with...
@@ThatsGinterEV ok I’m thinking about the steep and deeps. I think an issue w the GT is it doesn’t have the clearance the XR and the OG pint has, so the main draw of WTFs would be to fix this problem
I have a few suspension designs I've been batting about; until I get funding can't build a prototype...
Can you install the airtag motor clip without taking off the rail?
Yes, I just tried.... it's a little tricky, but if you remove the front bottom bumper and top front footpad, you should be able to rotate it into place and screw it on. Just be careful not to force it or bend the cable too much.
@@ThatsGinterEV dude thank The Onewheel God you’re still alive and okay! Where have you been man!? Miss your Onewheel content
Fangs fit on the WTF rails right?
Yea, any bumpers should still work fine.
wait... what caused you to nosedive?
This hill is climbable with stock rails, but I got cocky and wanted to see if I could climb it a bit faster... I pushed down too much and caught the nose on the bumpy terrain.
Awesome review! Does the GT stand fits on a XR with bang bumpers and TFL Kush wide?
Thx, and ya, pretty sure it will. I have an XR with bangs and another thick 3rd party back foot pad and it stands up on that GT stand.
@@ThatsGinterEV great! Thanks
Use a guitar stand much cheaper and if you play guitar it’s an extra bonus!
Whats the best way to lower the GT? I hate the wobbles and instability
Great review brother, I can’t seem to find any installation guide on these wtfs, I got the new Tiffany blue that dropped today for $1k. I was hoping if it was possible if you could drop a guide 🤙🏻
Oh dang, saw that social experiment from Jeff! I just picked up the Steep and Deep WTFs so I'll try and slap together an install vid for ya 😉
I finally went to purchase a set of Ws and they aren’t available for the XR. I purchased a set of Thunder Rails. I’m hoping they are just as good as the WTFs. Nice review.
Bummer! Ya, that's why I jumped on them when I saw them available...but I'm sure the Thunder rails are gonna be nice too!
Ripping my dude!!
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
WTFs vs mustaches? 🤔 I'm so torn
So...I have no interest in trails and dirt and hills...outside of the street hills i face...These rails still good for that? Mostly street riding i do. Also, that downward facing nose, i intend to flash the board to relieve, but, if not, is it really a big deal on cement? Thanks man, good video!
I'd say it's still a benefit as it lowers center of gravity. Basically, it provides a more stable, less wobbly ride, especially at speed. If you are mostly on flat ground, the nose down should b fine as you shouldn't clip anything, it's more of a comfort thing. With that said, TFL just announced 2 other versions of the WTF rails - one is for trails (steep and deep), and the other is more for streets (low riders - coming in a few weeks). The low riders could be better for you. But also, if you want to save money, you could just get the half and half kit to lower your ride ($130), it just doesn't look as cool as WTF rails 😎 - thefloatlife.com/collections/sidekicks/products/half-half-axle-blocks-lower-kit Hope this helps!! 🤙🏼
@@ThatsGinterEV Thanks fro the insight...Just got them today. Love the red. Been wanting these rails yea, cause they look fly. I;ll be looking to re-level the board post install.. Great video and thanks again for the input. What i needed to hear.
⚡👀👀⚡
Where can I find the mod to up-tilt the board?
If you are on iPhone, you can use OWDigTilt Beta - testflight.apple.com/join/1Agva4HU?mibextid=uc01c0
Fairly easy instructions to follow. Hope this helps!
4 minute nose dive pretty scary.
ya, at least it was the end of the ride 😅
How did you flash the board to level it?
I used OWDigTilt Beta - testflight.apple.com/join/1Agva4HU?mibextid=uc01c0
What are the benefits of getting these rails besides the looks? 4:31
Lower center of gravity for stability is probably the main one.... I was not riding at 100% and got some wobbles from hitting ruts in the terrain and it easily leveled back out for me. There are of course other rails and products that accomplish the same lower of gravity, so I threw in my other Pros as well.
1 You are more locked in because of the angle of the footpads,2 you don’t loose clearance if you set the board to ride level. 3 higher quality materials meaning no stripping screws and no bending rails. 4 they are significantly lighter. Fantastic for comfort on street or trail, depending on riding style these are for you
Nice review, I agree the requirement to flash the board to reset level is a con, but at least it's a net zero con.
I whiffed at one of the steps to resetting, so will have to do it again on Sunday at the event.
The FlightFenders do work, mostly, for quarter fenders, and they have a part that extend down to shield the controller box, so that's another option that can be considered. Aaron did mention the FlightShield doesn't seem to lock in place (I forgot to test that myself).
See you, and your allergies this weekend
Oh dang, yea, re-level made it ridable (for me). I think they were originally supposed to be nose down, so that at pushback, the board would be level....but yea, on trails I can't maintain 20+ mph, and I def don't want to clip any rocks with the nose down!
Good to know Flight Fins work! I think FloaterShack also has some half fenders that will work too (not just fender deletes).
You aren't "flashing" the board; it's just using factory mode over Bluetooth/nRF to re-calibrate the level of the board. It doesn't mess with the firmware at all. No big deal, and it only takes seconds.
That's that virus
