Take a trip to the brand's country of origin, the Czech Republic or any of the neighbouring countries. You basically won't see anything else than Škoda cars :D
After 5 to 7 years of ownership, you will start to see true value of any vehicle, and that is where TOYOTA vehicles pick the pace, you can still see 80s and 90s TOYOTA on the street.

You are absolutely right "Junaid"..The review feels SUBJECTIVE not OBJECTIVE. Upright acceleration & in-gear acceleration numbers are far better with Octavia, but at the end he has given less points in those sections.. Octavia comes with "Anti-Perforation" warranty, which assures build quality for long run. Civic produces max torque very late in rev-range, which means we need to PUSH engine a lot to accelerate quicker. CVT gearbox makes the engine sound noisy if they push the car hard...(Noisy engine if pushed HARD)....
Why are you neglecting the Hyundai Elantra among the Civics' rivals ? It can give some serious competition to the Civic and Corolla. However, if it is that you have removed it from the list as an all new generation is round the corner, it is justified.
But only a facelift is around the corner, not a new generation. In fact, by that logic, the Corolla has an all new generation announced internationally and shouldn't be compared at all! They're neglecting it for no reason!

Earlier, it was decided that Maruti will be developing a Corolla sized sedan which was to derive a lot of design cues from the new gen Corolla as part of the Toyota- Maruti Suzuki alliance which would be launched in India but now they have dropped the idea and this might be the last Corolla Altis to be sold in India. Hence, it is fine if they are comparing this model with other cars in the segment while it is still there.

Kindly correct an error in the warranty page. The OCTAVIA currently comes with a 4 year standard warranty, and is extendable for the 5th and 6th year as well - a segment first. Considering Skoda has a reputation for poor after sales, this might just be a deal breaker (or maker) for most - and it’s crucial to mention that in a fair and just comparison. P.S. - A call to any Skoda dealer would be enough to verify this information.
@@vineetverma6645 If you change oil regularly and get it serviced on time, you won't need any additional maintenance costs. these things will last atleast 2 lakh kms even if you are an aggressive driver. The only issue with Skoda is finding the right service centers, most authorized services centers are too negligent. The one in Bangalore forgot to bolt back the engine after they had removed to fix an issue. My dad drove it till the next service when the service gave was in for a surprise when they realized they did not bolt the engine.
So according to overdrive, Toyota corolla is way better than Skoda Octavia in acceleration and In Gear Acceleration. Even toyota would disagree with you. Skoda is a league above the competition when it comes to safety it is basically a tank among cars,you cannot rank all these 3 as equally safe. Automotive journalists these days! *smh*

.. The current civic was designed exclusively by an European team.. I took an extensive test drive and trust me, it is as heavy as the Octavia, just as sturdy and the interiors feel great. They don't feel like the current Honda cars.. I hope Honda and other brands bring well made cars to India, so we can have a greater range of Choice. .. Octavia is my dream car, but I cannot be biased 😊 . New civic had really been improved and we have to encourage it.

I don't know who calculated the final score but I can surely tell that he's weak in Maths.. Final score of Octavia should be 86, not 90 and Altis is 89, not 85 according to whatever scores that has been displayed.. So based on this Corolla Altis is the winner among these 3, Civic comes second and Octavia at third position..!? Hats off overdrive for scoring in reverse..😂😂😂😂😂
Overdrive guys always have some issues in their videos now a days. Namely repitative sentences, confused stats (the anchor is saying something and the data is something else....for example is was told that Civic has better steering responses but handling points are more for Octavia) and then some wrong stats as stated by in earlier reviews by other viewers. .. All of these are beautiful cars! Here is my opinion: Handling and sporty looks - Civic. Power and classy looks - Octavia. (My dream car since childhood) Compromise between looks, handling, reliability and comfort - corolla. To be honest, I would pick the corolla or civic... Mostly civic.. inspite of Octavia being my dream car solely because of the problems associated with the turbo and 1.8 tsi in the long run. If parts got cheaper And the skoda service in india improves.. i wud pick a skoda Octavia tdi. .. Until then I can't get my dream car.. Skoda very high maintenance and lot of problems. Very low quality car. Corolla or civic may have less features but quality is very high and maintenance is very less. Current gen Octavia will hardly last 10 years whereas civic or corolla can last 30 years

That's right. Elantra 2.0L with 152bhp goes 0to100 in under 9.28seconds. Only Octavia 1.8Tsi has better figures. Everything else is way slower.

Elantra is not fun to drive at all. It's engine power and torque is less than the Octavia. The interior of Octavia is far better and spacious than the Elantra.
Elantra petrol is missing in this competition....which is a very good one

Final score of Octavia should be 86, not 90 and Altis is 89, not 85 according to whatever scores that has been displayed..
So based on this Corolla Altis is the winner among these 3, Civic comes second and Octavia at third position..!? Hats off overdrive for scoring in reverse..😂😂😂😂😂
The new corolla 2020 is insane
Overdrive guys always have some issues in their videos now a days. Namely repitative sentences, confused stats (the anchor is saying something and the data is something else....for example is was told that Civic has better steering responses but handling points are more for Octavia) and then some wrong stats as stated by in earlier reviews by other viewers.
Guys I request u to please up ur game.
Also the totalling mistake in the final score octavia is getting 90 while the total is only 86.
Corolla is winner with 89 score and Octavia has 86 score as per your score card. Civic is second with 87 score.

Here is my opinion:
Handling and sporty looks - Civic.
Power and classy looks - Octavia. (My dream car since childhood)
Compromise between looks, handling, reliability and comfort - corolla.
To be honest, I would pick the corolla or civic... Mostly civic.. inspite of Octavia being my dream car solely because of the problems associated with the turbo and 1.8 tsi in the long run.
If parts got cheaper And the skoda service in india improves.. i wud pick a skoda Octavia tdi.

Until then I can't get my dream car..

Bring in the Elantra 2.0L 152bhp Petrol version. 0 to 100 in 9.28s. Only Octavia 1.8TSi beats it. Everything else in the segment is smoked by it.

Skoda very high maintenance and lot of problems. Very low quality car. Corolla or civic may have less features but quality is very high and maintenance is very less. Current gen Octavia will hardly last 10 years whereas civic or corolla can last 30 years
Skoda offers highest power and torque among the lot, yet it ranks the lowest in acceleration. How does it happen? Possibly, they marked wrong way, it should have been 9 to Skoda and 7 to Corolla. Also Skoda is the most powerful car in the lot, with its highest BHP output.
Also no comparison has been made for Boot Space. I guess in this Skoda tops the list with its massive 590 L boot space.
