    I love my microfreak! darn. I don't have room for it. I have to think a lot about this. it looks pretty awesome. Wish they'd put out a desktop version with no keyboard. I don't need more keys and I am one of those who is very happy with the cpacitive keys on the Microfreak. but this looks and sounds awesome. wow

      I tried it locally, the sound and build quality is absolutely killer, but I hate the garbage keybed. My JD-Xi's keybed is more playable, and its keybed is the lowest quality rubbish around.
      My only good quality mini keys are on my Native Instruments M32 controller.
      My favorite keyboards (for their keys) are my Juno-DS61, Ultranova, and Axiom V2 61 controller.

    I love how you jam with these things. There are a lot of channels that will show me all the sounds and all the features and etc etc… But I want to know how it’s going to sound in the context of a mix, preferably some Boom Bap style stuff, ya know? So I’m glad you work these new synths into your style of music, reminds me of Ricky Tinez…my other favorite music UA-camr ;)

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! I'm sure I'll use this one in more of a boom bap context soon enough. This one might become one of my favorite synths in the studio... It's surprisingly easy to use :D
      Thanks for watching!

      @@AccurateBeats Honestly, and I rarely say this these days it seems, I was quite impressed with the sounds you were getting out of it, especially for the price. I have space in my setup for one more synth…I’m definitely considering this one. I’ve got a Jupiter XM, Minilogue XD and Moog Minitaur… maybe this one can help give me more access to FM style bright sounds? And more west coast, Dre style sounds for sure.

    Did I see you use the drums inside Maschine but they came out as audio in Logic? Do you just have a quarter inch cable coming out of Maschine and into your interface to do that?

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  Рік тому +2

      Yeah, that’s what I did for this one. I just recorded the output from Maschine as audio. Works well for a quick little jam 😀

    The beauty of any analog synth is the ability to morph those sounds in real time, which you can't really do with a normal patch. On a DAW you might do this with a soft synth but not have that real-time emotional connection to the sound that a real analog synth allows. Its this feature of the synth which you need to sell. That said, its use as a sound designer's dream is how most will see it.

    • @AccurateBeats
      @AccurateBeats  Рік тому

      Right. And the modulation matrix on the MiniFreak really helps with creating dynamic and ever changing sounds. I'm pretty new to this one but I already feel the power of these functions.
      I'll incorporate this synth in more jams in the future, for sure. Thanks for watching : D

    Great to the point overview and quick jam with what seems to be a great, still sort of low cost synth from Arturia.
    The microfreak is such a fun device to play with, so the minifreak ia definitely in my wish list!

    This seems far superior than op1 field. Apart from sampling capabilities, smaller size and the tape system, what other benefits would the op1 have?

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 Рік тому

      The OPs are little workstations, Minifreak is a portable performance keyboard.
      No, not even remotely similar.

    • @wildeyestudios5
      @wildeyestudios5 Рік тому

      @@Jason75913 Well, both are electronic instruments, both have keyboards, both have synth engines, so we're back to my original question apart from the sampling capabilities, smaller size and the tape system to record and make layers, what other features would the op1 offer that make it worth

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 Рік тому

      @@wildeyestudios5 if you want a portable workstation, get a Polyend Tracker, Electribe2S, Akai MPC, Dirtywave M8, or Roland MC-101 or MC-707
      if you want a portable sampling synth that you can somehow play like an instrument, there's the Minifreak, the Tracker again, some vintage Casio models, and the old Korg microsampler. Best is a good tablet + NI M32 controller. If you don't need something very small, the Juno-DS61 and Kross2 61 are your better choices, and they are killer keyboards.
