Your job is undoubtedly challenging, but I admire how you maintained such a positive attitude toward your work. It’s inspiring to see someone focus on the constructive aspects of their role rather than dwelling on the negatives. The fact that you refrained from bashing your company speaks volumes about your professionalism and integrity. Keep up the great work!

@@SelenaNorinhYou did a good job of sharing the not so good stuff, with a smile on your face. There is a good reason why I’ve stayed at UPS for that long- in spite of drivers bitching - we are paid very well. The benefits are incredible and we have a 100% covered retirement pension. I come from a total white collar family and I’m the first person in my extended family that was ever in a union. ( Teamsters) I drop 85$ every month to them which sounds like a lot, but it’s worth every cent. I also was a package car driver for the first 20 years plus and then transitioned to driving semi’s for them local. I just pick up trailers and drop them off. All the trucks are automatic with AC and stereos. It’s gravy. I know you didn’t ask. Have a great Christmas!

theres no interview, if you can count to 1 2 3, then you get a job, i quit delivery after they told me to deliver 1000 packages, starting at 1pm and end at 10pm, it was impossible, especially in a ghetto part of town, where i got bit by a dog and heard gunshots, drove straight to the warehouse, left the keys in the ignition and left.

I used to work as a package driver a few years ago when I was in college. After I graduated, I left the job. At the time, I didn't find it enjoyable, but seeing your video brought back good memories, and now, thinking about it, it wasn’t as bad as I thought-it was actually fun. I worked in Europe for a company different from Amazon, but a lot of what you showed in the video is quite similar. The only major differences were the morning loading process and the fact that, in Europe, they don’t really track you. They gave advice on the most efficient order to deliver packages, but we had full autonomy to handle deliveries our own way. Other than that, it’s pretty similar. Thanks for bringing back some good memories, Sel!

That bag with one box in it happens all the time because you will have another full bag with the same isle code stickers for that isle in the sort center. The bag got full and was changed out and when sort got done the new bag only had one box in it. Usually when I am doing pick and sort I will combine the bag in the isle with the full one on the end of the isle to avoid giving drivers a bag with one package in it. I will fold the bag up and leave it on the cart for the driver to scan, but they can then leave it at the delivery sort facility and have one less bag in the van, especially during peak.

But it’s literally, pick things up and put them down. This type of work is mundane and tedious. It’s the way it is.

These are literal slave jobs and they should strike until they are paid a non embarrassing amount of money for what is, by any metric, hard physical labor. I took a seasonal job at Target thinking it was a beauty sales and promotion job, but it wasn't. It was nothing but pulling/stocking merchandise. I quit after a month. I may have stayed if they had put me on the registers up front, but they had me doing tasks that were, frankly, insulting. I like Target, I like their stores and love some of their merchandise, but if you're over 40 years old, you cannot do these jobs. And if you're over 40, you need to be in good shape.

@@_DB.COOPER no one breathing down your neck? Yet there's a gps tracker in the phones or vans and some dsp's also put cameras in their vans so you're constantly being watched. If you actually come in and do your job and get done in a timely manner you will be rewarded with having to bail out the consistently slow drivers every day with no incentives whatsoever. And they typically get the smallest routes already. These people make the same money as you do yet you have to work twice as hard. Hard work doesn't pay off there.
