The only ones acting like Sheila is doing something wrong have never taken care of the elderly.
This is a common complaint and accusation. You have so much footage to prove how well she has been looked after. Yet you throw Sheila under the bus in a nano second. Due to a common thing that happens with the elderly and their minds and their tendency to blame the one that does the most.
She is sweet as pie to her grandson Frank because he is not her main caregiver. Those of us who have done this see this very typical behavior. This is an age and mind thing. Grandma held out a long time befor it began. When it gets worse you will know the end is near.

I love grandmothers making their homes something eternal. Quite the same happens in my family, where my 93 y.o. gramma makes her house to be as well as she wants it to be. She asks my sisters and me to make all the arrangements for the things to be repaired (calling plumbers, roof repairers, electricians) and, of course, she pays all herself, with her pension and tte one my late grandfather left her.
These wonderful women are from an 'ancient and close age' which will never come back.

I don't understand why people just laugh at everything she says. Sounds like she has some legitimate complaints. Not being taken anywhere, nails not done for 2 months. And she's worried about her house. But before she can even finish a sentence he's busting out laughing. Doesn't even consider listening seriously to her.
I was a caregiver a few years ago. Once the body starts slowing down it is very difficult to transport the elderly and often dangerous. That is what passing on becomes when you reach these very old ages. Everything slowly shuts down until you can't walk anymore then eventually you can't stand and then you're bedridden and pass on. Who knows what is happening but it is normal for the elderly to be stuck at home once their ability to do anything decreases.

But, it's still how she perceives it to be and she deserves to be listened to and taken seriously, not laughed at in her face. I would not disrespect her like that.

I think she just has lived in her own home for so long that living with her granddaughter makes her feel like the little independence she had is being taken away. She's so lucky to have her family, some elderly people have nobody.

I am long term caregiver for a 95 yo woman and 94 yo man (I care for them in my employer's home. One is her father, the other is her mother in law).. the woman is fairly sharp, but the man has dementia though he has moments where he is completely there and responds with his former quick wit.
I love them both so much.
But this reminded me of the times where my "grandpa" KNOWS something is wrong with his mind, though he cant name it... he gets suspicious and feels like people are pulling his leg or have nefarious motives.
Breaks my heart when this happens with him... imagine feeling/knowing something isnt quite right...yet not able to understand what is happening in your brain. My god, that has to be terrifying...
Gramma though seems to be soo on point, so aware and such... and she is expressing her feelings and people are laughing their asses off about it??

@@kneedeepinbluegrass3086 I believe that they are laughing with her not at her. It is funny that she would consider those nice accommodations a prison. Sheila and Frank as well as Alice take very good care of her. Gramma was so accustomed to doing so much on her own and now being physically unable to, makes her have some dissension. It's plausible. We took care of my great grand parents for a few years and they wanted to do things that their health would not allow, like sit outside in 40 degree weather, or chew tobacco. When we did not let them, they said they felt we didn't let them do anything.
Obviously, anyone could feel at best in a house they spent 37 YRS in. Its only normal, but what's best for her is to have people around her at that age, she needs hands on care and attention so its much easier if they take her to live with them where they can give her that. She is actually, enjoying life right now cos she is amongst family and friends daily (people to chit chat with, drink and eat with, watch tv, spend time with) BUT if she were to be in her house with Ginga far away now, caretaker comes n goes, she would be super bored, not have enough care and definitely not this lively or lively at all.

You'll have to say that to Ginga's son, not Frank and Sheila. Ginga is with her son in another state now. Ginga is not allowed any contact with Gramma or Frank and Sheila, from what I have been told. People say it's been on their Fb page. I do not have Fb. I read through the comments on these videos and find out what is going on. You have to read the comments if you want to know. The family is not going to put anything like that out on these videos.

But I don't have Fb. I read all the comments on the videos and that's how I find out. There are a lot of us who communicate with each other via the comments and share here.

O my gosh I said she is just like my grandmother was lmao! My grandmother lived to be 101 and my sister and my mom and myself took care of her. She would say stuff like this!!! Or she was turning us in to the law cause we were giving her a bath omg she was something! But we kept her out of the nursing home like she wanted although when she would get mean we would say we calling the nursing home well then she would get right! Love and miss her everyday!
My son who has autism would scream out bedroom window " Help, call the police I'm being held captive"!
I have 2 children with autism. "Someone help, ambulance, fire, trouble, &/or get the police" has been my 14 yr old son go to words for quite sometime. What little vocabulary he has, those are the words he uses most. He's even dialed 911 a few times. Its a constant struggle to not use any words to trigger him randomly yelling them out plus I now hide everything. Starting to feel like a prison. The struggle is real!!!

Luckily my 17yr old daughter is a little easier & is and bit more functioning (both considered low functioning but he's severe w/ so much more). Awesome yours is able to be on his own -great feeling for him & for you. I want that for my daughter -and would need assistance as well but my son will always need 24/7 help (14 but barely functions on a preschool/kindergarten level).

There is no telling what is happening. I was a caregiver to someone who was 96.. eventually they cannot always comprehend everything going on and it is dangerous to take them out of the house in frail condition. Maybe her health is declining and it's actually more damaging to take her out or a higher risk for falling.

After watching this video now knowing that Gramma sadly passed away a few weeks ago, I can’t help but feel like the pandemic and the lockdown made her lose the will to live 😢. She loved going out to get her hair and nails done, shopping, go to church, but with the pandemic, Sheila HAD to lock her in the house/prison. Imagine how boring that must be for Gramma! It’s like there’s nothing to look forward to now! She can’t really hear people over the phone either, I’m sure Sheila only let family and caregivers inside the house to be safe, so Gramma prolly misses her friends too.
I’m saying this because my grandma passed away cuz she no longer wants to live. She didn’t have any health issues, she just slowly died at 94 y/o 😔

Okay just scrolled down and saw that you can look on their facebook to see what's up with Ginga, apparently she is in hospice care at her home, but someone says that was posted 2 weeks ago. I hope it's not end of life hospice care. My mom got hospice care as she passed. :( I wonder if Ginga has had a stroke in the past? Her speech patterns are a lot like my aunts who has had multiple strokes. Praying for her no matter what!

Her grandchildren were so good to her---they honored their parents' memory well by taking care of Grandma and Ginga.
