It's funny how Minecraft Java could've ended up being a legacy edition (as in, being replaced by Bedrock) but people decided to make mods that make it look like legacy editions
The Steam Deck is probably the best portable console on the market and you can even play modded Minecraft on it, Minecraft may have declined in updates/optimization but at least future generations can play what was once great on better hardware, without the old community aspect I guess. I'll probably buy a Steam Deck eventually. Now people can play Reconsole on the Steam Deck
In my opinion, steam deck is best because it offers feature to install any application that supports linux, while (many) other consoles lock you into using their app stores and become (a bit) bricked on defaults after they shut down app stores
