Heihachi had 2,2,1+2 any -9 move that was guaranteed with a free ff2 that you couldn't escape. If you held F to kick up the ff2 would launch you for even more damage. Straight broken.

I had to stop watching 5 mins in because I felt sick imagining dealing with his poking. I did play T5, but on a casual level and mostly against the computer, so this is mostly news to me.
My friend played this character. I went from hwoa, to Paul, to Nina, to Steve to try to even it up a bit. Paul became the most miserable and frustrating match up. Eventually I discovered there was only two moves with frame advantages against feng. Paul's whole movelist felt useless. Once I desperately started playing marduk. I started picking him to pieces and he stopped playing altogether.
One of the other reasons why Feng was broken in this game was that b1 was 0 on block and his ws4 had the same properties as df1 and 2~1was knock down mid which guaranteed a stomp along with being so safe that Jin cant even punish his 10 frames after parrying it. Not to mention f2,1 was extremely hit confirmable you could literally see the counter hit forget it and still get the shoulder. Oh and yeah his F 3+4 would also block Knee, elbows and even swords, and his f1+2 would high crush from very early frames.
@@angel1234534 well I'll be damned. I've been mislead in the past to believe that it was still +. I think in a video by framewhisper? Well thanks for the heads up
Quite a few characters had 8 frame jabs in Tekken 5 and earlier games and then it got standardized to 10 frames for practically everyone in Tekken 6 which is when Feng's b1 became 10 frames.
It's a good thing to know when nothing any character can do is lower than 10f startup. It makes safety frames easier to balance because you know when something can be made safe but not advantageous. Without that you have to tune attacks based on who can punish it or not rather than a global decision on whether an attack should be punishable or not period (some characters might be able to punish a move better - like pulling a PEWGF with Kazuya against a -13 attack - but the fact remains that the attack's punishable state is set in stone).
Feng was awesome in Tekken 5. Mainman, could you discuss Nina in Tekken 5? She was awesome also. I think they wanted to make her strong for her video game Death by Degrees.
