A lot people talking shit about the customize look of his jeep grand cherokee Laredo or v6 engine but most of them don't even have the money to buy the entry level trim or smart enough to customize it like he did. I HAVE A FULLY LOADED V6 Overland with an aftermarket supercharger that will destroy most V8 out there. LOVE YOU JEEP MATE LOOKS AWESOME.
I tested all SUVs out there as well. After 6 months of research I came back for a Grand Cherokee. Now my whole family is getting some kind of jeeps lol.
I don't know what people are talking about. A lot of unnecessary negative comments. Why should he or anyone have to buy an SRT? People have families, everyone isn't rolling in money I would/will do the same thing with mine. I am not putting on a SRT bodykit or need a V8 (it would be nice but its not practical for me). Just a clean, simple, mean looking, people mover. Especially now you can get them a decent pricing. I think its a no brainer. Great looking ride man. I come back over and over for inspiration.
People are shit they suck and have the need to inflict their miserable pessimistic bs on others. Well said comment! Not everyone has the money to pay for an SRT nor want one. Different needs for different people with various means to pay leave it as that and keep the bs to yourselves.
Good luck W resale value of a modified Jeep appearance w new leather when you can get the same modifications w a limited model. The thousands you just spent on labor probably make the car less expensive in the long run. Realize the average used car goes down in value approximately $1500 for every 30,000 miles. Hence the reason Jeep came out w multiple trim lines at very marginal price points. I’m not justifying the prices (other than how I’ve seen what they perform at) but I’m saying that the purpose of buying is as much reselling given the fact that the car is going to depreciate in value. Cool project though. Most jeeps keep their value anyway at least.
My story from a few months ago. Wife and I were looking for a used, but maybe new, SUV. Had our hearts set on the Kia Sorento, or Ford Edge, or Santa Fe, or any of the three Subaru crossovers, but the Sorento was up front, found a nice 2016 top of the line model that we loved. On the way to test drive that particular model, we were passing a Jeep lot, and saw the JGC, and for a joke wife said lets go for a drive. I said no way, it's too expensive. We went anyway, took a 2020 Altitude package for a drive, and bought it that day, no questions asked, it was absolutely incredible in every way.
He spent way too much on aesthetics. The average used vehicle only goes down $1500 for every 30,000 miles as well. I’m reluctant to think he’s going to find a buyer for this (even knowing that Jeep retain their value). Jeep already has trim lines that can Easily be resold or sold at a dealership at a known price fair to market at any time of the year. A Laredo is basically jeeps lease / rental car. That’s a huge problem if the goal is to resell. What’s he trying to do make his own brand? It’s not anymore valuable when you can buy a limited w 4x4 capacity where the market has research to know the demand exists.
Great video, very informative. Proof that research pays. Everyone (including me) automatically thinks it’s cheaper and easier to just buy the up spec model.
I went with an altitude model with all the trim blacked out from the factory minus the honeycomb inserts. I opted for the v6 and Quadra-trac 1 4x4 (basically an AWD system). I wish Jeep offered the better 4x4 systems in this trim.
I like most on this that you didn't make it into an SRT replica, I'm all up for taking style cue's from other models like you guys have done, but when it comes to making something look what it isn't, it just seems like you couldn't afford the car you wanted and have envy over it, rather than liking the model, realising you don't actually need it, and taking the cues. Looks great in the end, well done on it.
It looks so much better with all the black parts and the rims and I wish Jeep would offer a "black package" for all versions/ trim levels of the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Fantastic video. My wife has the same car. The Laredo and it’s pimped to make it look SRT. It’s lowered and snaps necks. Love the 9 speed box. Yes the 2x4 in the 3.6 is the better way to go if you are not towing. Hook up a trailer like a car trailer and you are looking at 19 to 20 l/100. Great review. The seating part was good to watch. Very complicated and well worth it.
I am considering to buy a Jeep GC myself and my usage is exactly going to be the same as your's. Currently in the US and I have the Jeep GC limited version that we have rented for 2 weeks and boy, I am impressed!! Was considering to buy the base model 4x2 however couple of things that really puts me off is the smaller multimedia screen and no option to install the panoramic sunroof, I think that once you have it, you cannot go back! Probably would have been a nice addition to your mods. Unsure if it might void the warranty
Got rid of our SRT-4 and bought a 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited with the Adventure II package(Trailhawk minus the cosmetics). It was just time to grow up! lol
Great engines aren't they.. Did you know they were designed and built by VM Motari originally for GM before they went bankrupt? Then the project was sold to fiat ;)
Wow! Never knew that. What are your views on tuning the engine? I'm really looking to keep this vehicle for a while and am concerned about sut production levels.
They are an engine designer in italy (most manufacturer's go to companies like this when they are building a new engine they have no clue about) www.vmmotori.com/
Funny thing is... you can now get a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the High Altitude edition trim level, which is almost as murdered out as this one, or an SRT. And the HA edition is based off the Overland trim level so you also get almost all of the bells & whistles.
Looks great, what a difference over the stock appearance! It needs to get bagged suspension now as that certainly doesn't pass the Mighty Car Mods shoe test! As you have no intention of offroading it needs to get low!
We were tempted but being a daily driver for the wife with kids in the back, its better to keep it that height. One of the wife's key reasons for wanting an SUV is it makes it easy to get kids in and out and get in and out, while low cars makes it hard
I'm guessing the 5.7 is not available down under. Sorry. I'm not sure what a Blackhawk model is, I don't think we have that one. Here, I got a Trailhawk with 5.7 but pushed it toward SRT with 20x10 wheels. The great thing about the Trailhawk is it comes with the SRT seats. Anyway, your Jeep looks very cool. Thanks
Do you remember where you got or orderes the white moldings to replace the black ones going around the wheel wells and bumpers? Been wanting the for the past year but can't find them. Really don't want to buy from the dealer.
But you don't get heated and ventilated seats when you just have the base seats recovered. I ended up taking a while to find myself a 2016 WK2 Hemi Overland. Tough to find used Hemis in my area, 95% of them are the V6 model. It's a canadian model, so I have the DRL annoyances to deal with (I think I have found the correct wire to switch on the BCM to disable them, though). I'm considering blacking this one out, as black/black looks much better to me than chrome/black, but there are a lot of pieces to deal with, and painting over chrome may not last very long in the rock-salt-ridden climate of western NY state. I can see the paint chipping after a couple years, and a wrap would be destroyed after 1 winter.
The 2017 Grand Cherokee Altitude comes murdered out already. I know, I have one. I do like the top wrap and painting the calipers. Might borrow those ideas.
Hey, watching this video really influenced my decision when buying a 2014 Laredo, I also went for the RWD over the 4wd and I love it! Thanks for the video!

nice , It's not complete . I would have ordered the srt 8 bumper which comes with the daytime running lights and would have smoke black the brake lights. overall , a 7.5
Not going off road so why spend the extra money. 2WD is lighter, handles better and less stuff to go wrong, which based on Jeep's reputation isn't a bad thing. Cost $15,000 more for the turbo diesel 4WD
Holy schnikes, 15k more?!? Good points though. If you don't plan on taking it off road, there's no reason to have the extra weight and components (which are all a potential failure point) of 4wd. I have to say though, I am super jealous that you guys have so many diesel options. In the US, it's either the 5.7l hemi, 4.7l v8 or a v6, all petrol. :(
I like them rims. I had a 2015 altitude but after an accident...i got a 2016 high altitude. Then 6 months later...sold it back to the dealership because i couldnt bring it to Japan. I want to get another Jeep...was thinking another Altitude but I might use that idea of a cheaper model and just make a few changes. I loved the high altitude but thats $52k
Came out great. Was just easier for me to buy a fully loaded jeep srt. The grand cherokee is the best looking suv under 100k. (Inc trackhawk since they didn’t change much from srt) RSQ8 an URUS and the next best thing.
How's it sir? I'm sure it's about a year since you bought your car. Just want to check what's your experience thus far? I'm in the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee myself . Any problems with the car? Things to look out for ? Fuel consumption? Daily driving experience? Sihle From South Africa 🇿🇦
I noticed there was the standard black trim around the wheel wells and bumper. Were those repainted white to match the exterior of the car or were they replaced entirely?
Lol then the Jeep altitude comes out that looks exactly the same for a few bucks more lmao 😂
Be nice 🤣🤣🤣

jeep takes off almost 9k in incentives, im pretty sure a lot of people can afford this car, that's why you see so many on the road

not in australia they didnt

Thank God that we can get a v8 in America on Laredo models.
No, you cant lol

That's what I just got

Red velvet pearl

JUST GOT A BLACKED OUT /GUN METAL GREY JEEP G J ..... BEST CAR EVER ! SIC RIDE
This has got to be the best video ever I’m watching it on rewind as I’m doing it to my Jeep.

Yeah true, could get two jeeps hahah i kid
So did I
😂😂😂😂
That’s awesome! Practical, cost efficient and looks 100 times better.
Looks good! My wife would be proud to drive something as nice as that. Great choice of colors.
i couldnt deal with the lack of power in the petrol so biught the deisel. very happy with it.
This is a great process to show. You end up with a classy unique car. Great to show, demonstrate the leather seat retrim option and to give prices.
Wow! That Jeep really looks nice. I like the white color coat with the blackened out windows.
So when are you gonna start moddin it?
you really should give us a break down of how much everything costs.
At the very least it would be 5k

Mike johnson at least. The leather seats were in total 5,000 from what I recall. The labor doing this is well over acouple thousand as I see it.
In the video he does say that instead of spending the extra $20,000 for a higher trim they would spend it on upgrading it to their own likings.
Domino Jeep.Sometimes you wonder why some shops charge so much in labor, but when the job is done right, it's worth the price.
Great video, very informative. Proof that research pays. Everyone (including me) automatically thinks it’s cheaper and easier to just buy the up spec model.
That leather really is oem quality. This is the first time im seeing someone do such a good job.
Great job on the car. looks great!
WHAT RIM AND TIRE YOU USE
It’s so hard to get anything out of this bloke hahahah
Amazing mods. I currently have a 15 eco diesel and loving it in America. But in terms of mods on a gc these are the best ive seen!
I went with an altitude model with all the trim blacked out from the factory minus the honeycomb inserts. I opted for the v6 and Quadra-trac 1 4x4 (basically an AWD system). I wish Jeep offered the better 4x4 systems in this trim.
Awesome transformation. Everyone that worked on the Jeep did a fantastic job!
In America you can get the Altitude package which blacks out all the chrome, adds dual exhaust and suede insets in the seats.
I bought one in black, what a great deal the Altitude is for all the options and a lot of people confuse it with the SRT at first glance.
+donna lopez I got one in the crystal granite....love it. I put the SRT wheels on mine and it really gets confused for a SRT.
