To anyone wondering, the fourth, third and second deadliest fires in New York history are the Happy Land arson, the Shirtwaist Factory blaze and the Brooklyn Theater Fire which held the record for one hundred and twenty five years before 9\11. The Brooklyn Theater Fire does however still have the record for the deadliest domestic building fire in New York history and the deadliest not caused by terrorism.

A lot. 343 in total and pretty much every fire station in New York lost someone. If you're wondering, the heaviest group hit on that day was Ladder Company 3 which lost 11 members which may not sound like a lot but companies rarely have more than fifteen men and sometimes as few as two. It's the same company that Patrick Brown came from, the guy who reached the 78th floor of the North Tower minutes before it collapsed beside Orio Palmer. If you've seen photos of or been to the 9\11 memorial, thier utterly written off signature vehicle is the one you can find stored at the site underground. If you're wondering how many emergency personnel died that day, 378 of which most were obviously firefighters.
