      The problem is having money and power over others. Money is the devil. If it weren't for money, humanity would be much further ahead.
      Cpt. Picard described it all very well in Star Trek - The First Contact.
      Anyone who knows Star Trek knows what I mean by that.

    • @BayStateObserver
      @BayStateObserver Рік тому +3

      @@schnoggel - - You are close to the target but not quite. Money and power are only tools which can be used for either good or evil. They are not good or evil in and of themselves.
      Besides, many times people attempted to build societies that didn't use money. Those societies failed. Two good examples of this? Ancient Sparta and the early Soviet Union.
      Like it or no, we need money but must not be obsessed about it. Even Jesus said "Man does not live by bread alone." The Federation tries to build a godless "bread alone" society. It can only end in failure down the road.
      Thank you for your time and attention.

    OMG, I am on my 60s, retired vet, aerospace physician and scientist. I want to see this future, before moving to another plane of existence. I have been dreaming about starships and space traveling since I was a little kid, which motivated me to go into science and engineering as well as medicine. Could you imagine, seating at a balcony or at your backyard, seeing such wonders flying by, preparing to embark into a new human adventure, space, yes, the final frontier. I cannot wait to see that, no different from a kid’s anticipation for a Christmas gift. Wonderful video and music, just rekindled child’s memories and dreams. Enough fighting for 5000 yrs, it is time to unite and move to the next civilization level of evolution. We definitely need to work together for this future to become a reality. Let’s make it happen people of Earth! 😊😂

    I was 17 when ST came on. I was living in a children's home due to my parent's divorce when I was 14. I really liked ST and thought if I could make it to the 23rd century, things would be so much better. Not possible but I would be 50 as I entered into the 21st!! Well here we are, in the future! A time when men think they’re women, women can’t tell you what a woman is, people insist on infanticide as a right, crime is excused in many of our cities and the dumbest people on earth have been elected to power by a questionable election. I was born in 1950 during the atomic age, grew up in the space age, matured in the computer age and am growing old in the stupid age. At this rate I doubt we’ll make to the 22nd century much less the 23rd!

If there's one Only one thing. that every generation has in common It's a complete lack of confidence in who they're replacing and no faith in who will replace them. So hang in there, I think we'll probably survive.

    On a serious note. I saw a fellas design for a compact starship, i think the crew was tween 50 and 100 somewhere. But to me anyway, this particular design was actually doable. If i can find it again, ill edit this post so yall can also see it

      These aren't my models or animation; please go provide kudos to Pierre Drolet, who created the original (low definition) version of this! (link in the description). I imagine Pierre included China because this video is supposed to represent a time when humanity is united in exploring space, as Trek taught us that we can. That future is worth fighting for.

      As an old critique of BSG 2003 said, “If you could manipulate Gravity to keep you on your feet on deck, you wouldn’t need Thrusters or Jump Drives for moving your ships. You could use Gravity itself to move the hull about in space.”
      And that’s what some people are saying about these noiseless UFOs shadowing our combat jets, that they are gravity-field-propelled craft.

    This video makes it seem more plausible with today's technology! It's not as clean and refined as what is depicted in Star Trek, but it gives me hope that if someone were to figure out a reliable method of rapid interstellar space travel today, then those ships could be built within a decade.

    what my generation started but failed to follow through.
