Wow. I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of attention to detail and the great care you give to this dog! I wish all dog groomers were like you! (Obviously I wouldn't be watching this video if I had someone like you taking care of my dog...so I've decided to take matters into my own hands) Thank you for teaching the top notch method!
I love that you let her sit as she needed too and that you had the dryer blowing on her while you were trimming up her paws. I have 1 shih tzu and 3 poms and they are big huge balls of fur. I am gearing up to give them their baths in a few days and was looking for some tips. Enjoy your channel and your tips very much!
Thank you for your detailed demonstration! You have a very good demeanor and made Foxy, the Pomeranian, comfortable. I will continue to watch you video’s. We appreciate you mastery. Kindest regards
This was great! I'd love to see another video of a much fluffier, more stereotypical featured Pomeranian though. Foxys coat was really sparse in comparison
So cute. My sisters pom was also named Foxy. She lost her 2 yrs ago at age 12 I believe. Now has a yorkie like my mother, aunt and other sister. This Foxy did great and looks very good for an older girl. Thank you Amy for your time.
Thank you! I currently have three Poms. Reba is in the photo with me. She is Harley’s Mom and Prince’s Mom too❣️since COVID-19 hit I have been grooming them myself. I has several questions and you have answered them all!
Thanks for your videos. I too have a Pom and boy, does he have fur for days lol. How do i get the small red slicker brush that you use in all your videos and what can I use to keep the shedding down without having to cut down his coat? Greatly appreciated all your videos. Keep them coming
How short is too short with a Pom? Is there a way I can I tell where the outer coat ends and undercoat begins? I’m afraid of getting it too short and damaging the coat. Thanks
You know my sister just got a Boston Terrier:) I'm thinking of her. I would like to see a demo on a short haired breed (Boxer, Dalmatian, Weimaraner) I believe Duke has been your only short haired breed you've done. A lot of short haired breed owners think their dog doesn't need brushed because the the being so short. I think a demo would be really beneficial.😊
Hi Amy! Thank you for another very informative video!😍 How do you determine when to use regular cutting scissors or thinning shears? I've seen it done both ways. Especially on the feet. Thank you!😀
Amy I have three Yorkies. They all had full coats until about 6 months ago. I started grooming them myself because my groomer did not want to take off there body coat I don;t leave a skirt just do there body short. And I leave there legs long just just trim the bottom so they don’t drag they look like bell bottoms. There bodies I clip short with a semi full face. Don’t know if that makes sense. But they are as cute as heck. Do u have any long Yorkies with a cut sorta like that. 💞💞💞💞 Happy New Year. 💥💥💥💥
Go Groomer Amy figured it out. Izzy and Ozzy with cut. Gracie my tiny also has it just could not find her pics. There def not professional but I don’t mind there looks. There beautiful just the same. 💕
Hi , Have you done a video showing how to trim a Pomeranian with a clipper , I don’t have mine cut short but don’t feel confident with scissors as they are always on the move and would like to cut down on time as I have 2 Thanks B x
Hi Amy, Hope you had a wonderful New Years! Thank you for the video gives me an idea for Austin. You trim feet the exact way that I trim Austin's feet. Have a great weekend!! see you on Monday
Im new to dog grooming, how long does it take for you to finish everything for this kind of dog? I'd like to know, so I can improve my time in finishing such. Thank you very much! I love your channel btw!
Thanks Amy for a great informative video. I live in Australia and am a groomer. I’ve been grooming for 9 years now and for some reason they love to clip the cavie’s coats. It’s very frustrating because if I don’t do it they’ll just find a groomer who will. To date none of the dogs that I’ve done have suffered coat damage bar two and both dogs had medical issues. I am getting fed up though with clients that just want what’s easiest for them so after watching a number of your videos has decided to try and convince them there is a better way. One question though. Yes double coated breeds should not be clipped but that was for an animal in its natural environment. These days, with our pets living indoors with us where we have heating and air conditioning should that fact impact on what we do with the double coated breeds?
Great question:) The reason we don't want to clip a double coat is because it encourages bad re growth due to interrupting the top coat to under ratio caused by clipping. It truly has nothing to do with indoor, outdoor pet life style...it's all about destroying the coat and what it was designed to do for the pet:) Hope this helps-Hugs!
Doing your best to create a calm, positive atmosphere for a dog being groomed, is part of the job. There’s more to grooming the animal than just the removal, and brushing, and trimming, of its fur, cutting of the nails, etc. The dog’s perception of this time should be a pleasant one at the very least. To not provide a calm, relaxed, positive experience is inexcusable. If the groomer doesn’t make it a happy time, then she isn’t doing her job. She is incompetent. Where were the kind words, and I don’t mean the couple of words said At the dog for the camera, but words of reassurance said TO the dog to help comfort her. Hoe about some treats??But there were plenty of words for plugging some crap. If you don’t like dogs deep in your heart, change jobs.
@@GoGroomer Great video! We have used these techniques on our 16 year old Pomeranian all her life. People can't believe how good she looks. However, she still fights like a alligator at bath/trim/ teeth cleaning time, ha!
OMG, I've simply got to get a dry off towel for my boy from your link. This groom of Foxy is the closest I've seen to my Peke. He has sooo much undercoat and even though I've shortened his coat overall, that undercoat has to go for the summer. We hike together and he likes to go in the water but he's just too hot with all the extra fuz. Never thought about removing undercoat in the bath with conditioning rinse and his comb. Can't wait for his next bath day to try it. So thank you very much for featuring this adorable Pom. Learned a lot, as always. 💕🐶😽😻💕
@@GoGroomerCouldn't wait to try this and just finished up with him a few minutes ago. WOW, got a lot of undercoat out using your method. Whoo hoo. He has so much that he'll need at least one more bath. Also, need to get a finer toothed comb. Thanks again from both of us. 😄🐶💕

Love how gentle you brush the dogs some of these groomers are way to forceful. And you talk to the dogs as well in a sweet voice again other groomers on youtube are silent rough jerks. I would take my 2 the babies to this great groomer but not those others
I felt this groom went very well. Foxy and I are very comfortable working together. I have groomed her for many years. She is a little anxious as an older dog but she is very in tune with me during grooming sessions.
Giulia Ortolan yes she is. I have raised registered Poms and when they get very old their coats look kind of raggedy. Foxy is old. But, she is still beautiful to me❣️
It is absolutely not in question whether Foxi is beautiful or not, because she is beautiful, but that she simply does not have the measures to be a pomeranian: Height at the withers 21 cm (max 24cm). Probably she is a German Miniature Spitz: 27 cm ± 3 cm but not a Pomeranian (German toy spitz).
@@giuliaortolan6647 There are always oversized/undersized individuals among any purebreed, just as there are off-color, or faults in any desired trait. That's where pet quality comes in.
Oh of course I would use a force dryer on a Pom:) Just be sure to hold the nozzle as far from the skin as the hair is long:) If the hair is 2 inches, then hold the dryer 2 inches away from the skin.
What Dog Breed would you like me to demo next? Leave a comment here and your breed could be the next video.
Amy, can you do a demo on double-coated breeds like Samoyed or Chao Chao or Husky. I would like to see how do you clip(scissoring) their type of coat.
Long haired chihuahua please?

What is that brush you used on her in the beginning! Like the exact one?
It's the Les Poochs or Activet brush. Both are similar.
How short is too short with a Pom? Is there a way I can I tell where the outer coat ends and undercoat begins? I’m afraid of getting it too short and damaging the coat. Thanks
You can see the difference in coat length between top coat and undercoat. Do not cut into the undercoat.

Raquel Grant you are so correct! That’s why they often get dry flaky skin because it never sees a brush and bath to exfoliate the skin-woofah

You should never use clippers on a pomeranian as they're double coated..
can you do a video of a pom with the more-plush coat? I have an eight-month old and his back end looks like a bunny and always gets poo stuck in it!

[64:1]..64 parts water and 1 part conditioner.

hello. maybe you could groom a chow chow. would love to see it. Thanks
Care should be taken not to put pressure on a Pom's trachea!
You are absolutely right!
This is a German spitz
The Pomeranian is was originally bred in the Pommer region of Germany.
Sorry that’s Cavalier King Charles spaniels
That’s definitely a Pomeranian 😂
Sorry, you're high or something!
First of all, this is not a pomeranian.
How can you make a video about grooming a Pomeranian even if you don't know that this is not a Pomeranian
It’s not a Pomeranian. It’s a small spitz!! Pomeranian is much smaller than this dog.
The Pomeranian is the smallest of all the spitz breeds. Many "pet quality" poms are on the larger side.
@@toddbennett7157 SO IT'S NOT A POM
