    I just have to say that I absolutely love watching your videos! You are sooo good with the dogs and really treat them like they're your own. There are several groomers on youtube that are so negative and seem like they hate their jobs and it reflects in how they talk to and handle the dogs. What is the reason to use the comb attachment? Can I do the same thing on the body with a detachable blade 3 or 5 instead of using blade 10 with the comb attachment? I have the Oster A5 2 speed with clips 3, 5, 7 and 10. Just wondering why some groomers use comb attachments and others do not. Like everyone else trying to figure this out due to Covid-19. Thanks for the great video.

    THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Charlie is such a good sport! Beautiful job! Does plucking ear hairs not hurt? The trimmer I have had a pretty small comb, but it doesn’t seem to cut very short. What happens if you cut in the opposite direction that the hair grows, like you do on a human, instead of in the same direction. Thank you for such a detailed video! Very helpful! I have a Maltese Shitzu mix.

    • @GoGroomer
      @GoGroomer  4 роки тому +2

      Ear plucking does not hurt the dog if you take small amounts at a time. clipping in the opposite direction is fine but I don't like to do that with any blade shorter than a #4 because it can damage the hair follicle. Hope this helps! Hugs:)

      Just remember to take you time and maybe split the groom into two days...day 1 = brush out, bath and dry. Day 2 = clipping and trimming. Grooming is a bonding experience for you and your pet as well. Think of it like that and you may feel better about grooming your pet at home:)

    Out of all the videos on grooming, yours are the best! I have 3 dogs -- two soft-coated wheaton terriers who seem similar to Charlie's coat once they are combed out, and a Shitzu Bichon mix. As much as I try, my clipper work takes so long and is exhausting. My one wheaton looked very choppy when I was done. I found this video really helpful but would love a cheat sheet on the combs/blades as it is so confusing. Would I use the same blades/combs on the wheatons as you used for Charlie? Also, I purchased the Wahl 5-in-1 clipper before I saw your other video. It says it has a setting for #10 blade. Is this satisfactory or should I buy a separate #10? Thanks for all you do from NJ -- lawyer now turned part-time groomer!

      Hello my dual career friend:) I feel your struggles as blades and combs sizes can be confusing. Here is a chart that is a fantastic clipper blade reference and will help you determine clip length.

      Here is another link to the exact snap on comb that will be compatible with your wahl 5 in 1 clipper...

    Charlie is such a sweet pup! This will be the first time trying to groom our cavachon myself. What do you recommend if I don't have a sprayer in our tub or a dryer other than a regular hair dryer? Also, is there a specific clipper set you recommend? Thanks!

      if you don't have a sprayer I wonder if you have access to a pet wash station. That would solve your problem. You really do need a sprayer to penetrate the coat to clean the skin. I have a playlist on my channel that talks about clippers, blades and snap on combs needed for grooming. I'll link it here for ya-hope this helps:) ua-cam.com/video/7FtEy9CwwI4/v-deo.html

      Beverley Wells I didn’t trim anything off his tail because it’s at a great length and fullness. If it was too-full, I would’ve thinned it a little and trim the length of it.
