Gorgeous! Both you and the ZZ's! Very informative and helpful.. Great energy. Question: i have new growth coming up and I'm wondering if i should repot it or wait. The roots coming out the holes in the bottom of the pot and the pot is being stretched long instead of round. Thanks again for your wonderful video.
Thank you so much! 🌺 Yes, you can repot ZZ any time. The best would be to choose a sightly bigger pot, but not too big. And of course, the holes in the pot are very important
Thanks for your interesting video. I like the way you speak and look. My plants leaves doesn't become big in size and the stem becomes little blackish.
very informative video Anna👍 this plant has been my best friend among all my plants, it's very hardy, it accepted all the conditions which I provided to it, dark or bright everything, only over watering can kill this beautiful plant
Thank you for the wonderful video about how to take care and transplant a ZZ plant. My ZZ Plant stems are getting too long, and didn't know that you could prune them and put them in water only like an inch from the roof up and keep them in water in a jar until they get roots so you can put them in soil and make a new plant. Thank you for teaching all of us how to do it. Question: how do I make my ZZ plant more fuller? I hope you can answer my question. Oh! And can I use miracle grow on this plant? Thank you. Many blessings go your way. 🤗
Hi Flor, thank you so much for this comment, which I'm reading early in the morning and smiling. :) To make it fuller, you will need to plant several stems together, as it's not a fast growing plant. Use smaller pots, so that it grows more stems, otherwise in a bigger pot it will grow the tuber bigger. And grow it in a very bright indirect sunlight. This plant is known for being able to grow in shade, but it will grow much faster in a bright area. And yes, you can use Miracle Grow, maybe even the one made for succulents will be better. You can find the link to my store in the description of the video and can see all products I recommend. 🪴🪴🪴
Hie Hello... Glad to See this video abt Zz plant... Thnks for Sharing 🌸🤗 but I've one question abt this plant... Can we keep this plant in the AC room ??
Hi Sheetal, I have seen these plants growing in a hallway in a bank with AC, it was quite cold. I think these plants can survive a lot of things, but they will not thrive, if it's too cold.
Hi I have 3 different zz plants , raven, zanzibar & zensi they are all beautiful. The zensi is short & curlier but still waxy leaves. My raven almost died but I don’t know why. It’s only a little left. I don’t think it was root rot but I’m not sure. Thanks for great video about a beautiful plant
I am having issues with my zz. I have taken it out to check the roots and they mostly look ok but there is some black bits. In your video at the 3min point - you talk about washing roots - did you then leave the roots exposed in that bucket for 1 week to let them dry? And then you mentioned you cut some parts off - how do you go about this?
Hey Andy, thanks for your questions and watching the video. I washed the roots to make sure I get rid of all rotten tissues. I let it dry for 2-3 days only if I have cuts or open wounds. What are the black bits on your plant? Do you mean the roots are black? If yes, you can slightly pull them. if they are rotten, they will go off easily. Or are the black spots on the tubers? In this case, slightly push on them. Are they soft and look rotten? You can plant your ZZ back into a pot (choose not a very big pot) and water it very rarely. Of course, it depends on the climate. But ZZ plants have tubers, where they store water and nutrients. They can go without watering for weeks.
Hello, I divided my ZZ Plant in winter... I now know it was wrong.. It's lush and green but no new shoots in 5 months... What am I doing wrong? Thank you
Thank you, and as you're in Berlin were to get perlite and what is it called? And it would be verey nice if you make videos on wich products do you prefer and where to get it? because i find it a bit harder to find things in different language and with no enough experience, please.

Hey Caryn. No, if you cut the stem, it does not grow new stems from the sides. The gorwth of the cut one will stop and new stems will grow from the tuber/soil. If you want it to grow shorter, put them under direct sunlight (be careful not to burn them; it really depends on your climate too). If they grow under indirect light, the stems may grow long.
My husband received a ZZ plant from his office due to Earth week. 😊 It has about 5 stems and a new one coming out. The stems are about 10 inches long right now. I was wondering if this would remain of this size or the stems eventually grow taller? Or only the new stems would grow? A bit confused. I hope you read this. 😊
Hi Shabnam, I read all comments and I reply to all comments :) The size may depend on the variety of ZZ plant, but also on the light. If they grow in a very bright light, the stems tend to grow longer, and eventually bend down a bit
My zz plant has super long stems and they get longer every time it grows a new one. Are they supposed to have long stems with not many leaves? How do I solve this problem?
It’s in a west window and I live in Texas. This is the brightest spot in my place. It’s shooting out a lot of new growth and my arrowhead plants love that spot. I just wonder why the stems are so long
Hi! Thanks for the very useful information in this video. I’d like to know if there is a specific season for repotting a zz? It’s the beginning of what is going to be a very hot summer in New Delhi. Shall I go ahead with repotting my zz which came from the nursery in not very suitable soil?
Hi Shalika. Yes, I think it's the best time now. When it's very hot, it's harder for the plants to overcome transplant shock. I would do it now. :) And please send some sun to Germany :)
Not really. But the care is pretty similar to succulents. Succulents like very bright light, some also direct sunlight, but this plant grows perfectly in shade too. However, watering is pretty much the same - very little :)

Hello, how come my my plant they don’t have leaves all way down only from the top. What did I do wrong? What kind of fertilize you put thank you.
What type of fertilizer? I am excited I found this plant
It doesn't really need much fertilizing, but you can use any fertilizer for plants with decorative leaves

I repotted my large zz in a ceramic pot. Is it best to bottom water it or will the ceramic not allow enough water to get soaked up? Please help.
What is the best fertiliserr for ZZ plant
Will the stalk itself sprout new growth if trimmed? For example, if you want a shorter, bushier plant….? You said they can grow quite tall.

Which soap did you use to wash ZZ plant roots?
I use any Bio soap I have at the moment
Is there soil already mixed

My ZZ is so leggy and falling over (towards the sun)
How can I make the stalks grow (and stay) up?
Hi Hoa, it seems it's in shade and needs more bright light. Move it under bright indirect sunlight and it will definitely grow better

Can you put 2 different zz plants in the same pot?
Yes, you can. :) The pot will look fuller
Thanks for your reply, just to clarify I meant planting two different types of zz plants in the same pot.
All my ZZ start rotting from the middle of the stem. I wonder id it is a kind of disease or something
It seems you water them too much. They can stay without watering for a month
What fertilizer you put give me the name in English or French thank you
Hi Sabera, you can find it here and directly order online: www.amazon.com/shop/annasviolets

What can we do after over watering??
Put it in a warm place, where it can get dry faster. If it's not possible, replant it in fresh soil

Hey Terri, there are different varieties, but also the lack of light makes the stems grow leggy. Maybe move it to a brighter place?
