Sabaton don't take sides, they simply tell war stories. They've told stories about Nazis, Russians, Americans and every nation in between, a whole album on Sweden's Era of Great Power 1611-1721, The Final Solution, Hitler, Lawrence of Arabia, The Fall of Berlin etc etc. Keep exploring, you'll find out.

Under Gen. Erwin Rommel - 1940 advance through the Ardennes which the French thought was impassable. Rommel is known for his Afrika Korps but he should be known for his WW1 victories which had very few casualties on BOTH sides. Ghost Division was also blamed for several massacres of POW's in France and then the Soviet Union (when Rommel was not present although he preferred to lead at the front).
The "Ghost Division" was a German panzer division (under command of Erwin Rommel) which participated in the invasion of France (where they got their nickname). Panzers (german for tanks) were usually known as ridiculously fast units and the infantry couldn't keep up with them at all unless they had some mechanized units. And this particular division was notorious for disappearing before an advance and reappearing miles in enemy territory after a while (most notably 200 miles in one day). Neither the German command nor the French knew where it was at any point in time as long as they were advancing. That is why the French gave them the nickname "Division fantôme" --- (literal translation from french - Ghost division)

Good people can fight for the wrong side, and martial prowess and glory doesn't care about sides.
Sabaton honor the soldiers, not the ideologies.
They're not pro Nazi at all. They did songs honoring Soviet soldiers, Spartans, Americans, polish etc
Funny enough the Spartans were the good side when you talk about most wars with Athens and I’m glad they usually knocked the shit out of Athens because they were the first people to invent the idea of taking Hostages
A great example of this is "no bullets fly"
During war there is no right or wrong. You only fight for what you think is right and what your country wants.

@@countrytownify both bands are pretty popular and reacting to Nightwish is a popular trend among reaction chanels (there's pretty good reason to that, lol), and thus you have two people from two very popular bands that are connected to each other, and it's a fun fact, I guess.
The main thing about this song id like to say is that sabaton doesn’t glorify any one side of any conflict, they do these songs to draw attention to actions done, and different things from all sides from history. It was just so amazing, since because this division was the first in history to go so fast that even the commanders lost contact with the division. You’ll find sabaton will cover any part of military history, no matter which side they are on.
And when they do its from the perspective of a soldier
A rough quote from Sabaton (forgive me I can't recall which member said this) "we do not glorify war, death or nationalism. We tell stories in our own way."
In response to the swastika noticed in the footage - Sabaton are documenting history, when you document history, you must not edit the history. You show history as it happened, swastikas included, otherwise we will never learn from it.
Love the videos guys! \m/ Keep reacting to sabaton - they're an amazing band!! :)
They (Sabaton) dont give a fck if anyone thinks they glorify war nazis etc. They just dont.
or as in another interview:
"We dont do politics, ask people smarter then us"
"We don't take sides we just think their are parts of History thay shouldn't be forgotten"
People are used to modified history lessons in which they glorify their own actions and make the Germans look like monsters with a horrible sign called swastika.

"know your history, or be damned to repeat it" right?
As far as your comment “they got what they signed up for” goes, it wasn’t like that, in Germany and the Soviet Union you either fought or you die. Whether it be from the enemy or your own country. That’s how real it was. You had no choice but to take your chances in combat or die a disgraced man.
Sabaton's music mostly are about war's and military stuff that has been. They're songs can be from all over the place. They are from Sweden btw.

......People are pretty stupid.
Indeed. This division was lead by Rommel. The ONLY nazi with a museum dedicated to his memory. Incredibly gifted tactician and oh yeah member of an attaempted assassination of Hitler.
Daniel Rupp ooh I didn’t know that!
Daniel Rupp one correction he wasn’t a nazi he was a German he did not agree with the nazi ideals but he wanted to fight for Germany anyways because it was his nation. You will find that he often opposed hitler and was even involved in a plot to kill hitler which resulted in him having to take his own life.
Manowar- Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts is an epic power metal song.
Beyond Epic.
Sabaton is my absolute favourite band, so glad you guys are checking them out! As others have said, it's important to note that these guys don't glorify War, they've gone out there and said that they just want to teach about historical events and ensure that they're not forgotten!
The Ghost Division was the 7th Panzer(tank) Division under the command of Erwin Rommel. They moved so fast that neither the French or the German officers knew where they were.
That guy with the beats headphones is (if i remember correctly) Otto Carius the best german tank ace with around 150 confirmed destroyed enemy combat vehicles and one plane. He actually shot down a plane with a Tiger Tanks Main gun because „it annoyed him“ 😂
Imagine how confused his CO must have been when he claimed an aerial kill
The lead vocalist of SABATON featured on a track from BABYMETAL's latest album. Song is called "Oh Majinai". Check it.
Also, Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band. They're famous for the quality and themes of their songs, as well as taking a more objective look at the material. There are songs like Primo Victoria which is about the D-Day invasion in Normandy and features the line "Through the gates of hell as we make our way to heaven through the Nazi lines! Primo Victoria![First Victory]" and Bismarck about the German battleship. Sabaton keeps the focus of their lyrics on people and battles, instead of the politics and belief systems.
"Tank boys" would be a spot on definition of Sabaton!😄 Their drummer is sitting on a tank on their shows! (At least on the latest tour). They also have tanks in their music video, "Primo Victoria" (about D-day 1944). You should check that out. Also check out "Bismarck"(about the German battleship, WW2. Awesome music video!), "Fields of Verdun" (about the battle of Verdun, WW1), "To hell and back" (about an American war hero, WW2).
Welcome to the sabaton army guys! This is battle metal and I’m looking forward to your Journey through there catalog. It’s isn’t a bad some among them. There are favorites and some I like more then others. They are Swedish band and they take events from history and make songs about it. They don’t glorifying war but they believe we should never forget what happened in the past so we never repeat it.

If you haven’t done it already, you should react to “Fields of Verdun” by Sabaton. That song is straight fire 🔥
You should see them live. The drummer sits in a tank. Lots of power.
I have SO much I could tell you about Sabaton but I'll make one short and quick statement. They are a historically inspired power metal group. They write songs based on history from every side of a conflict. If you want more, I suggest 82nd All The Way, a song about the most decorated soldier of WW1, Devil Dogs, a song about how the US Marine Corps earned their nickname, Fields of Verdun, a song about the longest single battle in recorded history, or Bismarck, a song about the battle of the Atlantic in WW2.
I have seen Sabaton in concert twice! Highly recommend checking them out if you get a chance. Amazing live band
Head phones have only recently in a few generations become common for people . In ww2 they were cutting end gear and only high end equipment had them . The man on top of the tank was a commander he needs to communicate with all other tanks around him with those.

fun fact, if you plan or wish to see any of their concerts after covid is over, they always open with this song
Yes, they did open with Ghost Division during their 2022 North American tour. Lots of people took videos of these shows. Actually, the show opened with a short film about the Dough Boys, Americans who went to Europe to fight in WW1. This was an incredible experience, to watch old time films of the Dough Boys, from every race and walk of life, going to Europe to fight. When the narrator says that the Dough Boys "American resolve had ended the war," the audience was all clapping, at the same time that the old news reels on the screen showed Americans from 1918 (?) cheering the end of the war. We were cheering at the same time as people long dead, but both cheering the same thing. Americans did something right, helped people. Actually, for a moment, we could feel proud of US and what these guys accomplished. It ended with a call for a national monument in DC for the Dough Boys. THEN there was a pounding and flashing around the tank, and Ghost Division started. It was quite exciting! Also, the covid restrictions had been lifted. We all were just thrilled to be at a concert again.
You should react to this song live at Woodstock, Poland.. awesoooome. It's rumoured that the audience is about 500.000 plus or something :)
A little info for you. Many have said they dont take sides but if you want to learn about their songs and the history behind their songs they have an entire UA-cam channel "Sabaton History" Where they talk about the history.
A personal favorite song by them is a ballad, Ballad of Bull, its about a conscientious objector in WW2, Leslie "Bull" Alan who was a medic and refused to carry a rifle. The unit he was assigned to had to climb a steep cliff. Upon that cliff they were met with extreme resistance. Bull was the only one who defied the orders to retreat, he went up the cliff to recover the wounded. He carried them and improvised a way to hoist them down the cliff face. His actions saved the lives of 12 warriors that day. The enemy was known for shooting at medics with the big red cross, he was a marked man on top of that cliff. He was defenseless without a rifle, or grenades and yet he advanced upon the enemy to recover his brothers in arms.
In the end Sabaton sings about stories from war both the good and the bad parts, newer and old history. You guys are American and theres a ton of songs like "Lost Battalion" A WW1 song about a battalion trapped behind the enemy lines for months, "The Price of a Mile" a song about Audie Murphy Americans most decorated soldier IIRC, "No bullets fly" A song about a heavily damaged american B17 bomber escorted out of the fight by a German pilot who risked execution for his actions if he was caught, he escorted them out and over German AA guns flying close enough that German ground crews wouldnt shoot. "Devil Dogs" was a song about the USMC earning their nickname in WW1.
They even talk about the relatively unknown parts of history like in WW2 when Brazil sent troops who became known as "Smoking Snakes" to fight in Italy of the thousands deployed they lost 3 to the Germans, They found their bodies buried with full military honors and crosses inscribed in German were the words "Here lie 3 Brazilian heros" As the story goes their section was on patrol came upon a German Wehrmacht, not nazi but regular German soldiers, emplacement. They ambushed the position. Sending half of their team back to get reinforcements. They ran out of ammo, fixed bayoneted and charged the German position, the 3 of them fought to the last breath and fought with such ferocity that they earned the respect of the Germans. Because of their actions they were given that full honors burial and crosses.
I highly recommend doing some more of their songs, youll learn a lot about history. Only metal band ever honored by the church to the point a bishop in Poland bowed and presented a gift to them live during a concert. Brazil uses their Smoking Snakes song as a marching song. They dont shy away from the dark parts of history or the light parts and they embrace the history.
By the way, when Sabaton's Great War album came out last year it hit #4 on the iTunes album charts for about a week.

A Sabaton is the collection of plates covering the foot in a suit of medieval plate armour.
Listen to Sabaton Resist and Bite. It's basically the historical counterpart to the events portrayed in this song
you are completely correct. a Sabaton is a shoe, a Knight's piece of foot armor.
Sabaton is Swedish, and they have a long standing creed in their music of War Knows No Nation. It's about the men and women who died fighting, their victories and their defeats. It's a study of glory and abject terror of warfare throughout history
This was their show opener when we saw them live. EPIC
Gotta see a live performance of them. Also they have a separate UA-cam channel called Sabaton History where they have 10-20 minute videos talking about the history behind the song and the writing process. Personal favorite video is probably still to hell and back, their song about Audie Murphy, the most soilder from WW2 with the most medals awarded to a living soilder with 3 segments cut in it. With Audie himself in the movie he acted in, the band performing the song and an actor portrayed him locking himself in a hotel room detoxing.

One thing about Sabaton, which ever side they're singing about, they always acknowledge that the actual soldiers, are actual people, separate to any cause or orders. "Through hell and back." and "Prima Victoria" (original version) would be great ones to react to.

Take the Final Solution for example and Rise of Evil.
Then there are tales of abselute humanity during war time, like the tale of Franz Stigler and Charley Brown, Franz being a 'almost' Ace during the second world War in the Luftwaffe and Charley being a B-17 bomber pilot, Franz speared his life and the Allies sweeped it under the rug and years later it reached the public and Franz tried so hard for so long to reunite with his new brother and eventually they did.
Sabaton was and is the reason rear tales like that and so many others are known and remembered today.
They did songs on almost every war and or battle and they have only scratched the surface.
You will learn so much unbies history from them and they have their own history channel, so do have a look at their content and the stories behind them.
Enjoy and a Happy New Year.
One of the pro's of over-ear headphones is the increase in soundstage when sounds bounce around from hitting the outer ear. It creates width and more presence and "reality" in the sound. Most earbuds sound super "inside your head" cause of that. Some have technology that tries to recreate this virtually via software. But that's why proper headphones are preferred in the studio.
Dope reactions, keep it up. \,,/
Love your rection, above all you know what you reacted to,umlike others youtuber who dosent know what they reacted
They had headphones after world war 1 because many tanks crushed their infantry support. And it allows the tankers to communicate with other tanks.
Also this song is about the Rommel's Ghost Division.
Also to note is that the video they watched it not a Official music video made by Sabaton.
Rather its fan made video with ww2 footage set to Sabatons music.
Not an actual Music Video made by Sabaton.
Sabaton is in no way Pro-Nazi.
And as many other comments have stated they dont pick sides but instead makes songs from all different perspectives and nationalities.
(With ww2 Alone they have songs talking about Belgian,Polish,Czech,Finnish,US,British,Russian,German and Brazilian Soldiers etc).
To sum I up being a tank crew
Imagine being trapped inside of a blender and outside of your container is a lucky wheel and a cannon, you have to chose two numbers and if you get any of the numbers you’ve chosen you’ll be either blended or blow up, and that’s the scared part of being inside what is essentially a metal coffin.
High explosive rounds causes scabbing which in turn causes metal shards to fly around the tank (usually with their occupants still inside) and to cut a long story short, you’re going to need a bucket and hose the clean the left overs of the previous crew.
Armor piercing rounds comes in the form of a solid round or as a dart and will simply penetrate the tank and pass through anything and any unfortunate soul in its way.
Heat or high explosive anti tank cause a jet of molten metal which burns through a tanks armor and eventually into the crew compartment burning the crew alive
Other forms of death comes in the form of anti tank mines which will blow your tank in half including anyone within the effected area
Engine fires which will simply cause toxic fumes to seep into the crew compartment and eventually killing them (its like attaching a hosepipe from your cares exhaust into your car and closings the window and starting your engine)
Cook off is when the ammunition in the tab simply explodes causing multiple explosions inside of the tank and tends to lead to the turret flying off usually with soviet tanks
Molotov cocktails were used to either chock a tanks engine or to simply throw into the crew compartment and burn the crew alive.
I would highly recommend watching a Korean film called
MY WAY
Or to be exact the tank scene with the soviet march
A mounted knight wears a sabaton on his foot - part of the armour. Ghost Division, 7th Panzer Division - went through the supposedly impassable Ardennes forest in 1940 so fast that the German HQ did not where they were. Lead by General Erwin Rommel - known in WW1 for his victories AND lack of casualties on BOTH sides. After Kursk, largest tank battle in Soviet Union, they were always understrength and only a Division on paper - another reason for the "Ghost" tag..... Thankyou for mentioning PTSD - it can go undiagnosed for years. Sabaton (band) is Swedish.
That's a nice reaction actually, i usually don't like peeps pausing the vid but your comments actually made it good! Anyhow, more sabaton please? Almost any song of them is awesome, but if ya wanna see good (official) videoclips, try Fields of Verdun, Bismarck and/or Screaming Eagles.
About things you asked:
The sabaton is the armored boot or shoe of a medieval armor suit (not entirely sure of what time exactly)
The band is Swedish, and they're definitely not about nazis, but about history. And the fact is, the 7th panzer division made its way into history by its lightning-quick assaults. The ones i recommended earlier, the first one talks about the famous battle of verdun, where the french held the germans for 303 days in world war 1. One of my favorites is Nightwitches, that talks about a soviet night-bomber regiment formed exclusively by women. If in doubt, Sabaton has another channel called "sabaton history" where they talk about the historical event itself and then how the song about it came to be, check it out :3
I believe this is what people refer to as "Power Metal", although the vocals seem a bit deeper than typical to the sub-genre. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.
I don't know why there are so few reactions to the song Sparta by these guys, it's an AWESOME song to react to. So, there goes my recommendation, boys. Keep it up and peace!
Hey guys Sabaton has another youtube channel where they teach the history behind their songs. its called Sabaton History @trashtalkers
I think others have already sufficiently covered filling you guys in regarding Sabaton and their lyrical material.
Still hoping to see these come up:
Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope
Kamelot - Elizabeth (I, II, & III) (Live)
7:10 German tank divisions used radios thats how they managed to win so many quick victories by comunicating witch each other while the allies mostly only had 1 radio for some tanks
I loved the vid guys! Next you should check out Bismarck by Sabaton.
So this song is about the 7th Panzer Division, lead by Erwin Rommel. They were nicknamed the ghost division because neither Allied nor Axis command could keep up with their movements. Erwin Rommel was also always on the frontlines with his soldiers leading the charge, there are photos of him even firing Machine Guns on the front lines.
Sabatons are medieval foot armor
