I mounted a MRA Highway Windshield on my SRF this winter, also € 100. I came to the same conclusions as you did, I could barely notice an improvement, if ever then on the order of 1-2 %. For me the main advantage is that I am no longer getting insect impacts on my jacket, the second is when I have do drive on the highway, then I can crouch below it for a bit more comfort. I still use ear plugs against wind noise though.
Exactly. Quick spoiler, I also did the same track tucked in and got a 10% range increase! That time I had the screen still mounted. I'll do the tucked in test without a screen also to see what that does. But for sure the only reason to get that screen is what you describe here
@@Hans2183 have to confess, I just got around to seeing the end of the video. Worse range? Everything I thought I know was a lie! What are you going to do for a fairing?
I would like to say that a bubble windscreen would be more effective at giving more range than a flat windscreen like the one you have. I use a Puig Rafale and it is more efficient. If i ride fully tucked in, i think i get upto 10% more range. And i have it installed at a slight angle to the front of the bike. That reduces the drag a bit more.
I can confirm that 10% range increase tucked in with this screen. However still need to confirm if that screen does anything on that scenario. Indeed this one didn't look very aero. Puig rafale looks more promising. Thanks for sharing 👍
@@Hans2183 It would be great if you post the results for the SR/F then we can compare to the 13% increase in range that is claimed for the SR/S :) Oh and just for some context, i ride a Zero S 2018.
Thanks Hans...I may have a mental block but not quite sure what your graph is showing? I think it would be good to explain it a bit more. I'm seeing that you did 42km distance at 100kph and that you finished with those percentages of SOC left over and to the right are the full range estimates (in km and mi). But the 'Specs' column isn't labeled clearly for me. Are those the manufacturers specifications for range at 100kph? And if so, why is the last SRF with 12kw charging showing the same specs as the SS9+? I think the 'Specs' column is just throwing me off and I can't quite understand it.
Good catch, that spec value wasn't the right value for the last entry indeed, fixed that. It's the value given by the manufacturer for highway range. Zero claims highway range test done at 113kmh and Energica has no speed for their highway test. Thanks for the feedback!
I think it may be more relevant to compare the range of an SR/F and SR/S in similar conditions, because of the 13% gain in range announced by Zero. 😎 ✌️
I'll ask a friend who rides the SRS. But the thing is they announced 13% more range... Tucked in. Plus their numbers are the same on both models so my guess is a similar result. Tucking in and slowing down is the way to go for sure
@@Hans2183 Yes, and i still think that 13% increased range was again something optimistic... I did pick the SR/S over the SR/F just because i'm into fully faired bikes. Still i'm curious about a real life comparison. Cheers mate!

Second!
I’ve always known it increases range a bit. Glad to see some hard numbers. Great video!
I just hoped it would 🙄 but hey now I have an excuse to find fairings for it 😎
