If you watch until the end of the song there is a few more min. of the movie where the brides say they were acting and faking almost breaking up. You hear Ben say we are just puppets.
Oh my gosh the other rom com Glen Powell was in was Set It Up and it’s probably the best rom com that has come out in the last decade. You should react to it!! ❤
A little fun fact in the airplane scene, the man that sleeping right beside Glenn Powell, that’s his father and the lady who took off her sleep mask that’s his mom. Glenn Powell‘s parents makes a cameo in every one of his movies that he comes out with.
I super enjoyed this movie! It felt really, really close to how I remember the spirit of the iconic OG romcoms, complete with all the unhinged humor and cheesy over-the-top declarations of love. Truly can't go wrong with a Shakespeare romcom adaptation
I love “Anyone but You”! Bea and Ben (Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell) are memorable romcom characters. We root for Bea because she is endearing since she tries to show a brave front, but openly admits that she is lost and a mess. Ben tries to present as being perfectly fine, but is a mess also. They both have a melancholy about them. When these kindred spirits look into each other’s eyes it is effervescent. When they act hurtful towards each other it is because they both opened up to the other and then felt brushed off by the other. Amidst the comedy, there is something bittersweet that speaks to my heart directly. I have to add that what becomes Bea and Ben’s song “Unwritten” captures Ben’s identity perfectly. Even though he “owns” being a cocky “F-boy”, his introspective serenity song reflects his vulnerability and sensitivity inside. And represents that he is indeed still an unwritten person-a work in progress!
"OMG, I totally relate! 😭 This movie brought back all those nostalgic feelings of classic romcoms. Your reactions were gold, especially the part where [insert specific moment]. It’s so refreshing to see this genre making a comeback. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on more romcoms! ❤🍿"
7:05 That’s Alexandra Shipp who played Abby in Love, Simon, and Writer Barbie in Barbie Btw, I wished you should have watched the rest of the credits because Claudia and Halle revealed to Bea and Ben that the argument they had was just them acting to get the two back together. I really enjoyed the movie, and it was the first R-rated movie I got to see in theaters, with my mom of course (I’m in high school and not 18), and there were some parts where she had to put her hands over my eyes. I really loved it, it is in my top 10 favorite rom-coms, and Unwritten is in my Spotify Liked Songs. 💖
So cute! I started watching and cracked up right up the bat… and saw you had a reaction and watched right away 💕 I need to watch this movie with my mom so we can enjoy it together!
i LOVE when people talk about the plot of this movie as "classic rom com" because it's literally a much ado about nothing retelling lmao so it's as classic rom com as it gets pretty much
I love this rom com! I watched it with my future bridesmaids during my bachlorette party. I love how there were cheesy moments, but imo they weren’t cringey and if they WERE cringey, it was completely on purpose and to make fun of everything. And even the cheesy parts were fun! Parts of it felt fresh, parts of it felt nostalgic for older rom coms, and the two leads have amazing chemistry. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s a good rom com and that’s what I love about it 😊
This movie was okay, I guess I didn't like the whole misunderstanding and how sexual this romcom was. It was their fault that the dog destroyed the cake. They kept saying f*** it up and that was a call back to their friend training the dog to attack the stuffed fox whenever they say f*** it up. I did really enjoy Set it Up and would highly recommend that you watch that one. 😘👌
There are only two actors I can't stand on screen Sydney Sweeney in Miles Teller the possibly a third Dakota Johnson I feel like they're the cauliflower of entertainers they're deadpan expressions are irksome 🚫🎬🎟️
You mentioning The Way I Loved You? Instant like and subscribe 😍🫶 Glenn was also in the Netflix romcom Set It Up and it's such a cute romcom i highly recommend!!!
I wasn't expecting to love this movie so much, Sydney and Glen's chemistry was rlly good imo

YESSS!!!
As a guy who does not watch romcom, set it up was the first and it was great. The chemistry was more natural imo.

I was about to have lunch in silence since I had nothing to watch and then I see you posted and SCREAM! So excited to see your reaction!
Set it up I would say it’s one of the closest comparisons to those early 2000s and 2010 romcoms you NEED to cover!
