Don't forget that Angel is described as a porn actor, and from the image used in the pilot during the Killjoy interview seems to be advertising a film "Well, OK!". There's no reason why media like that couldn't be shown on other rings, even if Angel himself cannot leave the ring of Pride. We also don't really know just what demon nobility is capable of in terms of moving sinners around the rings. For someone on the level of Asmodeus, if he wants a sinner to play with, I don't think there's much that could stop him.
@@eng-eq7xy Lucifer has dominion over demons though since he's a fallen angel. So unless he allows it, assuming sinners going to other rings is physically possible, then the other demon princes can't do squat. I'm thinking the reason sinners are confined to the pride ring is to make exterminations easier. If i were Lucifer i certainly wouldn't want a bunch of executioners running through all 7 rings hunting hiding sinners when they could just get it done easy in pride.

Jesters aren't a type of demon or anything, and it's clear the real deal isn't a full on robot, so why would anyone think otherwise? 4:08 I've settled on an idea that Fizz sold himself to Mammon to gain his fame. A lot of people are saying he lost them in the same incident that gave blitz his facial scar, but I personally don't think so. When something is expensive, the phrase "it cost me an arm and a leg" usually comes up, and because Blitz called Fizz a sellout in episode 2, it starts to make sense of how desperate Fizz was for fame versus Blitz. He also took on a jester appearance to further look like the prince of greed, and not the imp we see in the pictures. I don't think Fizzarolli is his actual name either but merely a stage name. He said Moxxie had "no creative stage name whatsoever" and Blitz has never outright called Fizz by Fizzarolli.
Alot of people, including me, agree with this statement. Fizz selling himself to Mammon, hiding his identity with a jester outfit and makeup and getting famous for hiding himself with all that.

I read in a comment on a different video that his horns may have been taken so he could pass more easily as a jester demon since jester demons don't seem to have horns unlike other imps. It could be that, or that mammon demanded them in exchange for his fame. Both are very plausible because we see he has imp horns as a child through the pictures on Blitz's phone.
Regarding Loona not being able to read the spell last episode: she's a hellHOUND and the emergency lights were red. Dogs don't have the same kind of color perception that humans do, and can't see the same color variety humans can. We also got a brief look at the pages during said scene and the red light made the pages look almost blank as she was saying she couldn't read the spell. There's also probably some stress factor involved. Last episode was right after a huge fight and suddenly they're ALL trapped in an unfamiliar place whereas in this episode she's relaxed at the office with practically no stress at all.
@@inhale2851 Anyone else would have had the same problem with reading it given the lightning issue. Red light and red ink makes it hard to read for anyone, just worse for her because of the potential dog-related color issue. We're not seeing the book through her eyes in the shot that shows the pages looking almost blank in the flashing red light, which means it's an issue of the lighting itself compounded by a potential issue with dog-like color blindness. Technology Connections has a video or two about how colored light can mess with your ability to see things clearly, and especially your ability to distinguish one color from another. You should check it out.

This episode is so goddamn good, I want to see a CinemaWINS episode on this. There was so many little details in this episode that go a long way or great cinematography and lines that I love.

Well, this was a video with FBI jokes, Donald Trump shredding an eight string guitar, and another legitimate blooper that I left in for fun. But then it was concluded with a completely legitimate and serious apology... and then the very last thing you hear in the video is "I WANNA BLAST A LOAD OF FEELINGS ONTO YOU." I do not think everything has to happen on screen, and the way we learned about the break up of Stolas's family was well executed. Seeing a break up, separation, or divorce, feels like it would have been overkill. I prefer the way they did it, since it was clearly coming.
That's what I was thinking, I mean it was clearly obvious the two were gonna get a divorce, and it's implied with Octavia's concern of Stolas possibly leaving her one day; meaning smt was gonna change in their family and considering that Stolas committed adultery...yeah it's a divorce.

Also the fact that Blitzø did defend Moxxie. Yes it's fucked up that he stalks them and literally watches them fuck, but he did deliberately put himself in the spotlight to be shredded, just to defend Moxxie. Which in a messed up way is Blitzø being nice to Moxxie.
Firstly, I completely disagree with your thoughts about treating the show seriously because it keeps throwing heavy scenes at its audience and expects them to care about the characters, Stolas and Octavia, and everything to do with Blitzo’s relationship with Moxxie, Luna and Stolas, along with his self worth issues, this show wants you to take it seriously and feel for it’s characters, so that’s what it should be judged as. On to the actual episode itself, I loved it, it’s by far my favourite episode of the series, it’s perfect, my only complaint isn’t about this episode, it’s about the previous episodes, Stolas only ever treated Blitzo as a sex toy but in this episode he’s suddenly in love with Blitzo, in the scene with him watching tv he relates to Gabrielle, despite the fact that he’s done nothing on (and according to Blitzo off) screen to try and make their relationship a thing, even after loosing his wife and kid (off screen) Blitzo is the one to ask Stolas out, instead of Blitzo asking him out, speaking of Blitzo; he has been shown to be disgusted by Stolas and only with him for the book, when Stolas hired IMP as bodyguards Blitzo was trying to keep it professionally the whole time, in the Harvest Moon Festival Blitzo says that he will only go if Stolas promises it’s not a sex thing, I understand that both of these instances are sexual, so even if Blitzo doesn’t want sex he still wants a relationship with him, but why would he want to have a relationship with him? The only personality trait Stolas has shown in front of Blitzo is lust, we aren’t given any reason for Blitzo to be interested in Stolas, it’s not even that he enjoys the sex, he’s downright horrified at listening to Stolas talk about what he wants to do, and in the beginning of episode 5 Blitzo looks bored like he’s doing a chore. I agree with you that this episode was perfect, I loved the characters interactions, the comedy was top shelf, despite having a few minutes of screen time Asmodeus is already my new favourite character, Veronica and Fizz returning was amazing, and the song about Blitzo and Stolas where they got torn down was just fantastic, even though I don’t like how the dominos were set up, the way they fell down was incredible and my favourite scene in the entire show. But that doesn’t change any of my criticism towards the previous episodes, unless the Cherubs appear in episode 8 then that episode was pointless to the narrative of this season, they’re probably going to come back next season but that’s not an excuse because they could’ve easily been established in the next season, and their episode could’ve been the one where Stolas’ wife leaves him.

Okay.. but I love the fact that Asmodeus had screentime for like 7 minutes? And almost everyone (including me) loves him, so,that he became their favourite character (also me😂) and that with so little screentime. So I sure hope he will have a bigger role in Season 2/ or at least makes an appearance again.. if not they let their best character go to waste..

Actually Fizz is an Imp, like we see in the pictures he looks like Blitz and have multiple burn marks on his tail and body like him, and possibly the jester hat covering the horns that were broken during an incident.

You know, I've just got a really different take from you on this series. You've said since the beginning that "They can't play things off as humorous and then have scenes where they act like it was serious all along." At one point, you even used the tired "You can't have your cake and eat it" line, and I was just left scratching my head and asking "Why not?" There are countless examples of other works of fiction that follow the same formula of presenting serious emotional developments in a humorous light, and then having select moments that just go full-throttle dramatic, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that formula. In fact, some of the best emotional scenes I can recall ever seeing were from comedy shows - Fry's dog growing old and dying in Futurama comes to mind, as well as the funeral scene from Scrubs (a show I didn't even watch and didn't much care for, but I saw that episode after the scene became a meme, and in its original context, it still punches me in the feels to this day). The show doesn't have to just be a one-trick pony, "HAHA MAKE WITH THE JOKES! WHY SO SERIOUS?!" Also, you talk about how the Goetia family has been portrayed as "HAHA FUNNY CHAOTIC FAMILY," but I really never got that vibe. Aside from a couple small scenes in the second episode (third if you count the pilot), they didn't go too hard with the drama at that time, so Octavia's frustration was played against Stolas' over-the-top antics throughout much of the episode, but I don't think that really made light of her feelings or the gravity of the situation. It just wasn't the focal point of the series yet. The series has slowly been building up the dramatic factors with episodes like 5 and 6, and now 7. Had Loo-Loo Land been episode 7 rather than episode 2, it probably would have had very different presentation and focused much more on the damaging effects of Stolas' adultery. You mentioned that the end of the Harvest Moon episode was played up as a joke, but I really didn't get that at all. To me, that scene felt like the first moment where the series really dug in its heels and decided to get "SERIOUS serious." Stella is now openly conspiring to have her husband assassinated while sitting directly across from him at the dinner table, such is her hatred, and the damage his infidelity had caused to his family. Octavia is sitting between them, listening to her music, blissfully oblivious to what's going on, but... does that really constitute a joke? At this point, it can be assumed she blasts her music loud to drown out her mother screaming at her father. Nothing about that scene, to me, says "HAHA FUNNY CHAOTIC FAMILY!" I just read it as "This is a very broken home." Mind you, my initial read of the series was that it was plain-and-simple just a comedic little mini-sitcom on the side while they work on Hazbin Hotel, and by the time the Harvest Moon episode came out, I was leery of the more serious direction the show seemed to be taking, because like you, I wanted it to just be a collection of self-contained little comedy shorts. While I would have liked to just have a fun little cartoon and leave it at that, they appear to be handling the series competently, so I have no real objection to what they're doing now aside from perhaps concern that it may interfere with production of Hazbin.

Having Stolas and Blitz there while singing about the power of lust could easily be one hell of a free ad for Ozzie's and his ring of hell; even royalty will advertise my deadly sin! And who knows what other kinds of encouragement that could fuel for the ring and prince! It just seems like a situation he would get benefit from thanks to that whole fiasco even if their relationship has bad consequences.
This was a fantastic analysis rant. I feel like I have literally all the same criticisms and that people were overhyping the show before it got serious claiming that it was more than meets the eye. But again, I feel like these people just got lucky with this quote on quote "buildup" to an emotional episode... Because this show was basing everything on jokes prior to this with no hint that it was actually going to get serrious.
Fizz is an imp, but his arms and legs are robotic meanwhile Robo-Fizz is ENTIRELY robotic, shown by the strange head twists, sparking and jerking movement while Fizz is more fluent, as someone who has watched every episode that has even a hint of Fizz in it.. I think the reason why Asmodeus knows so much about Stolas is that they are both part of the Ars Goetia. They are relatives, even if likely distant ones. As one of the Seven Deadly Sins and ruler of one seventh of Hell, Asmodeus would naturally need to be up to date when it comes to Hell's politics, especially if it concerns his family.
Probably. I mean when Moxxie starts singing, the camera cuts back to Blitzø flinching when Moxxie says "I love you." Which could be interpreted as Blitzø thinking "Moxxie you fucking idiot, this is Ozzie's, Asmodeus and Fizz aren't going to let you get off talking like that."
Based on his reaction to hearing Fizzarolli’s voiċe - “No fuckin’ way… not him!” - I get þe feeling þat, had Blitzo been aware þat Fizzarolli frequented Ozzie’s, he never would’ve… to put it lightly, ‘invited himself’ to join Millie and Moxxie on þeir date. As for Asmodeus… I’d assume Ozzie to be a well-known nickname for Asmodeus, considering þe club says “ASMODEUS” on þe building’s peak and “OZZIE’S” over þe entranċe.
Blitz's issues were treated as a joke until ep 6-7 because Blitz himself is dismissive and thinks he's a joke. He hides behind sarcasm and humor ALL THE TIME, that's how he copes. Actually, most of HB's characters do that, Loona hides behind her passive-agressive behaviour, for example, so it is to us viewers, to stay focused to notice the moments when their masks slip a little. And seriously, you didn't think Viv capable of that level of writing ? What ? We talk about the same person who made Angel Dust's backstory and that sh*t goes hard in ADDICT.

7:03 Asmodeus showed that lust can take over anyone, even ars goetia and other higher demons. He pointed out how Stolas has literally sold his life because of the lust, which asmodeus is an embodiement of. Since Asmodeus is the prince of lust its kinda obvious why he wants to establish what power and influence his...sin? has on other demons. No matter how high these demons are in demon hierarchy. I am quite sure he is just asserts itself using stolas.

As a child of divorced parents myself, this also looks exactly like a post-divorce custody schedule, and I know what those look like. I got very good at plugging/unplugging all of my game consoles during those years.

I think the reason there was such a sudden transition from Stolas and his fucked up family to fucking divorce is because the focus is supposed to be entirely on Blitzo, Moxxie, and Millie. We rarely see Stolas on his own unless there's going to be something to do with him and the I.M.P. I'm thinking it's supposed to give that sense of randomness, like when you're just having a great day and then suddenly you get a call saying your parents divorced. Of course, it was very unnatural to me, too. And I think there should've been more context beforehand. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave more information in the last episode of season 1 though.

for the angel dust poster, you can see that watching videos from the pride ring from other rings is possible because Loona is watching Charlie making the video, maybe its more that the tapes are released into that world and not that angel dust is going to preform there, or maybe they are tickets you can buy to go to that ring to be able to go the show, or to market the ideas from the pride ring to begin with.
Sinners can't leave the pride ring, but hell born can go to the pride ring or any ring in that matter, so it makes sense why there would be a angel dust poster. also I think ep 8 of helluva boss would focus more on Blitz's family and luna's and how they came across,social class and the relationships with blitz all backfiring on him, and for him to finally come to accept his past. we may learn more about moxxie's and millie relationship as well knowing how it started.
Sometimes when rich people are fighting and want to get divorced they don’t for certain reasons but instead one parent just moves to a different house and the kids alternate
I read a post on Tumblr that said Asmodeus can hold a romantic relationship with Fizzarolli without necessary show it on stage because of couse it's the house of Lust, and such things shouldn't be allowed there, while they're on work they can't show that kind of affection and let other people do it as well. Also, he's mocking Stolas' for having fallen into his sin, the lust sin, not because he's in love, but because he let go everything he had because of a simple toy.
My major complaint for this episode is what they try to do to Blitzo and Stolas. The try to paint them in a tragic light, but why should I care when- Exhibit A: Stolas tells Octavia that he actually cares about her (I know what you're thinking and please f*ck off) in episode 2, yet his character develops 0 percent. Exhibit B: Why should I randomly start to care about Blitzo when, throughout the entire series, he's been nothing but an asshole? The whole ending feels like a very rushed character arc that should take 5 episodes at least, yet we don't even get a full episode dedicated to it. It's very poor writing. Other than that, this was a good episode
On the concept of them not showing Stolas and Stella's divorce, even though this comes down to opinion, im a believer is "show not tell", and they insinuate it pretty well from the beginning of Stolas' first scene of the episode with him sitting at the table alone, then moving to the couch. The shot shows him 100% alone in the castle. no family and no imp servants in that moment. he's issolated, bored, and upset. And i feel like if they made a whole episode about their divorce, itd ruin the little emotions of the scene

8:15 these are just theories some fans have had, but Fizz could just be wearing robotic limbs or he is an amputee who lost his limbs in an accident involving Blitzo, and having them replaced by advanced prosthetics

There are very few shows that come close to this one that talk about "taboo" subjects, like bondage (we actually see Stolas and Blitz finishing a bondage scene). The closest I've seen that wasn't an outright hentai is Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. And the fact that this show talks about taboo subjects with the at the very least good plot is a huge bonus. Adults don't get many shows that are purely for them that aren't porn.
Honestly your right, the fandom does over estimate this show a lot, and I say this as someone who loves it to death, and while I won't say every action in Helluva boss has revealed something about the characters as much as the fandom thinks, I do think there was a decent bit of set up But I'm not sure what they were thinking Just getting rid of Stella like that. Also! Everyone misses this but I was hoping you'd see it. When Asmodeus is laying on the stage walk area, he makes the same movements as Angle, a call back to the Addict music video (this is mostly when he crossed his one leg over the other while laying down). I think the reason that we didn’t see stolas and stellas divorce is because the audience isn’t little kids, it’s teens and adults who don’t need to be blatantly told that a divorce took place you know? We see the first clue when stolas is looking depressed, eating cereal at night, watching a tella novela (if I spelled that wrong then I’m sorry) and then our more obvious clue is that stolas says ‘ octavia is with her mother this weekend ‘ so we don’t see the divorce but we know it happened. I actually liked the idea where there wasn’t a filler episode showing us the divorce and just giving us obvious clues to stolas now being alone. But that’s just my opinion on that
I will agree that it would have been nice to know that Stolas and Stella divorced either before the episode or at least before we see the shot of Stolas. It would have been nice to maybe at least see some divorce papers on the table before they panned to Stolas pouring milk in his cereal. Or maybe show Stolas having a talk with Octavia and comforting her bc she was upset abt how crazy her life has gotten. I do also understand that some of the things the crew might have wanted to include got cut a bit short bc they wanted this episode to be released on the one year anniversary of the show. If they did cut things it’ll likely bc of that. It was at least something that I think most ppl saw coming that Stolas and Stella would divorce and showing us that Stolas was eating alone did kinda hint at the divorce. That scene wasn’t what I had expected it to be like based on ppl’s theories from the promo of Stolas eating alone

Trying to stand up for Moxxie, in his own strange manner. That may be some indication of respect, but then again it's not overly explicit.
a nice little detail is the fact that stolas could have easily just teleported himself back home, but he didn't, he got a ride from blitzo, he just wanted to spend more time with him... also, i don't think Asmodeus was shaming stolas for cheating on his wife with an imp, i think he was honestly impressed that someone would throw away his entire marriage (and his relationship with his daughter) for having sex with blitz and even called it the true spirit of lust.
That's the impression I got from Asmodeus too. That whole interaction really gives off the idea that Asmodeus thought Stolas was a very wise man, someone who wouldn't just cheat on his wife because he's horny.

Don't forget that Angel is described as a porn actor, and from the image used in the pilot during the Killjoy interview seems to be advertising a film "Well, OK!".
There's no reason why media like that couldn't be shown on other rings, even if Angel himself cannot leave the ring of Pride.
We also don't really know just what demon nobility is capable of in terms of moving sinners around the rings. For someone on the level of Asmodeus, if he wants a sinner to play with, I don't think there's much that could stop him.

So unless he allows it, assuming sinners going to other rings is physically possible, then the other demon princes can't do squat. I'm thinking the reason sinners are confined to the pride ring is to make exterminations easier. If i were Lucifer i certainly wouldn't want a bunch of executioners running through all 7 rings hunting hiding sinners when they could just get it done easy in pride.

4:08 I've settled on an idea that Fizz sold himself to Mammon to gain his fame. A lot of people are saying he lost them in the same incident that gave blitz his facial scar, but I personally don't think so. When something is expensive, the phrase "it cost me an arm and a leg" usually comes up, and because Blitz called Fizz a sellout in episode 2, it starts to make sense of how desperate Fizz was for fame versus Blitz. He also took on a jester appearance to further look like the prince of greed, and not the imp we see in the pictures. I don't think Fizzarolli is his actual name either but merely a stage name. He said Moxxie had "no creative stage name whatsoever" and Blitz has never outright called Fizz by Fizzarolli.
Alot of people, including me, agree with this statement. Fizz selling himself to Mammon, hiding his identity with a jester outfit and makeup and getting famous for hiding himself with all that.

I read in a comment on a different video that his horns may have been taken so he could pass more easily as a jester demon since jester demons don't seem to have horns unlike other imps. It could be that, or that mammon demanded them in exchange for his fame. Both are very plausible because we see he has imp horns as a child through the pictures on Blitz's phone.

Regarding Loona not being able to read the spell last episode: she's a hellHOUND and the emergency lights were red. Dogs don't have the same kind of color perception that humans do, and can't see the same color variety humans can. We also got a brief look at the pages during said scene and the red light made the pages look almost blank as she was saying she couldn't read the spell.
There's also probably some stress factor involved. Last episode was right after a huge fight and suddenly they're ALL trapped in an unfamiliar place whereas in this episode she's relaxed at the office with practically no stress at all.

@@inhale2851 Anyone else would have had the same problem with reading it given the lightning issue. Red light and red ink makes it hard to read for anyone, just worse for her because of the potential dog-related color issue. We're not seeing the book through her eyes in the shot that shows the pages looking almost blank in the flashing red light, which means it's an issue of the lighting itself compounded by a potential issue with dog-like color blindness.
Technology Connections has a video or two about how colored light can mess with your ability to see things clearly, and especially your ability to distinguish one color from another. You should check it out.

I do not think everything has to happen on screen, and the way we learned about the break up of Stolas's family was well executed. Seeing a break up, separation, or divorce, feels like it would have been overkill. I prefer the way they did it, since it was clearly coming.
That's what I was thinking, I mean it was clearly obvious the two were gonna get a divorce, and it's implied with Octavia's concern of Stolas possibly leaving her one day; meaning smt was gonna change in their family and considering that Stolas committed adultery...yeah it's a divorce.

Firstly, I completely disagree with your thoughts about treating the show seriously because it keeps throwing heavy scenes at its audience and expects them to care about the characters, Stolas and Octavia, and everything to do with Blitzo’s relationship with Moxxie, Luna and Stolas, along with his self worth issues, this show wants you to take it seriously and feel for it’s characters, so that’s what it should be judged as.
On to the actual episode itself, I loved it, it’s by far my favourite episode of the series, it’s perfect, my only complaint isn’t about this episode, it’s about the previous episodes, Stolas only ever treated Blitzo as a sex toy but in this episode he’s suddenly in love with Blitzo, in the scene with him watching tv he relates to Gabrielle, despite the fact that he’s done nothing on (and according to Blitzo off) screen to try and make their relationship a thing, even after loosing his wife and kid (off screen) Blitzo is the one to ask Stolas out, instead of Blitzo asking him out, speaking of Blitzo; he has been shown to be disgusted by Stolas and only with him for the book, when Stolas hired IMP as bodyguards Blitzo was trying to keep it professionally the whole time, in the Harvest Moon Festival Blitzo says that he will only go if Stolas promises it’s not a sex thing, I understand that both of these instances are sexual, so even if Blitzo doesn’t want sex he still wants a relationship with him, but why would he want to have a relationship with him? The only personality trait Stolas has shown in front of Blitzo is lust, we aren’t given any reason for Blitzo to be interested in Stolas, it’s not even that he enjoys the sex, he’s downright horrified at listening to Stolas talk about what he wants to do, and in the beginning of episode 5 Blitzo looks bored like he’s doing a chore.
I agree with you that this episode was perfect, I loved the characters interactions, the comedy was top shelf, despite having a few minutes of screen time Asmodeus is already my new favourite character, Veronica and Fizz returning was amazing, and the song about Blitzo and Stolas where they got torn down was just fantastic, even though I don’t like how the dominos were set up, the way they fell down was incredible and my favourite scene in the entire show.
But that doesn’t change any of my criticism towards the previous episodes, unless the Cherubs appear in episode 8 then that episode was pointless to the narrative of this season, they’re probably going to come back next season but that’s not an excuse because they could’ve easily been established in the next season, and their episode could’ve been the one where Stolas’ wife leaves him.
That second paragraph is a textbook example of why I think this show is more enjoyable if you don't take it so seriously. But that's just me.

I don’t personally care, but if the show wants to tell a serious story it’s fair game to point out actually flaws. And while not everything has to be on screen when it’s something major like Stolas’ family leaving him, it’s a little jarring that they just have that happen without us seeing it.
Okay.. but I love the fact that Asmodeus had screentime for like 7 minutes? And almost everyone (including me) loves him, so,that he became their favourite character (also me😂) and that with so little screentime. So I sure hope he will have a bigger role in Season 2/ or at least makes an appearance again.. if not they let their best character go to waste..

The last time we saw him eating at that table, his wife and daughter were there (granted Stella was actively calling to kill him but she was still there)

You know, I've just got a really different take from you on this series. You've said since the beginning that "They can't play things off as humorous and then have scenes where they act like it was serious all along." At one point, you even used the tired "You can't have your cake and eat it" line, and I was just left scratching my head and asking "Why not?" There are countless examples of other works of fiction that follow the same formula of presenting serious emotional developments in a humorous light, and then having select moments that just go full-throttle dramatic, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that formula. In fact, some of the best emotional scenes I can recall ever seeing were from comedy shows - Fry's dog growing old and dying in Futurama comes to mind, as well as the funeral scene from Scrubs (a show I didn't even watch and didn't much care for, but I saw that episode after the scene became a meme, and in its original context, it still punches me in the feels to this day). The show doesn't have to just be a one-trick pony, "HAHA MAKE WITH THE JOKES! WHY SO SERIOUS?!"
Also, you talk about how the Goetia family has been portrayed as "HAHA FUNNY CHAOTIC FAMILY," but I really never got that vibe. Aside from a couple small scenes in the second episode (third if you count the pilot), they didn't go too hard with the drama at that time, so Octavia's frustration was played against Stolas' over-the-top antics throughout much of the episode, but I don't think that really made light of her feelings or the gravity of the situation. It just wasn't the focal point of the series yet. The series has slowly been building up the dramatic factors with episodes like 5 and 6, and now 7. Had Loo-Loo Land been episode 7 rather than episode 2, it probably would have had very different presentation and focused much more on the damaging effects of Stolas' adultery. You mentioned that the end of the Harvest Moon episode was played up as a joke, but I really didn't get that at all. To me, that scene felt like the first moment where the series really dug in its heels and decided to get "SERIOUS serious." Stella is now openly conspiring to have her husband assassinated while sitting directly across from him at the dinner table, such is her hatred, and the damage his infidelity had caused to his family. Octavia is sitting between them, listening to her music, blissfully oblivious to what's going on, but... does that really constitute a joke? At this point, it can be assumed she blasts her music loud to drown out her mother screaming at her father. Nothing about that scene, to me, says "HAHA FUNNY CHAOTIC FAMILY!" I just read it as "This is a very broken home."
Mind you, my initial read of the series was that it was plain-and-simple just a comedic little mini-sitcom on the side while they work on Hazbin Hotel, and by the time the Harvest Moon episode came out, I was leery of the more serious direction the show seemed to be taking, because like you, I wanted it to just be a collection of self-contained little comedy shorts. While I would have liked to just have a fun little cartoon and leave it at that, they appear to be handling the series competently, so I have no real objection to what they're doing now aside from perhaps concern that it may interfere with production of Hazbin.

Having Stolas and Blitz there while singing about the power of lust could easily be one hell of a free ad for Ozzie's and his ring of hell; even royalty will advertise my deadly sin! And who knows what other kinds of encouragement that could fuel for the ring and prince! It just seems like a situation he would get benefit from thanks to that whole fiasco even if their relationship has bad consequences.
This was a fantastic analysis rant. I feel like I have literally all the same criticisms and that people were overhyping the show before it got serious claiming that it was more than meets the eye. But again, I feel like these people just got lucky with this quote on quote "buildup" to an emotional episode... Because this show was basing everything on jokes prior to this with no hint that it was actually going to get serrious.

Fizz is an imp, but his arms and legs are robotic meanwhile Robo-Fizz is ENTIRELY robotic, shown by the strange head twists, sparking and jerking movement while Fizz is more fluent, as someone who has watched every episode that has even a hint of Fizz in it.. I'm 80% sure I'm an expert on the character- not my fault hes my favorite

I think the reason why Asmodeus knows so much about Stolas is that they are both part of the Ars Goetia. They are relatives, even if likely distant ones. As one of the Seven Deadly Sins and ruler of one seventh of Hell, Asmodeus would naturally need to be up to date when it comes to Hell's politics, especially if it concerns his family.

Probably. I mean when Moxxie starts singing, the camera cuts back to Blitzø flinching when Moxxie says "I love you." Which could be interpreted as Blitzø thinking "Moxxie you fucking idiot, this is Ozzie's, Asmodeus and Fizz aren't going to let you get off talking like that."
Based on his reaction to hearing Fizzarolli’s voiċe - “No fuckin’ way… not him!” - I get þe feeling þat, had Blitzo been aware þat Fizzarolli frequented Ozzie’s, he never would’ve… to put it lightly, ‘invited himself’ to join Millie and Moxxie on þeir date.
As for Asmodeus… I’d assume Ozzie to be a well-known nickname for Asmodeus, considering þe club says “ASMODEUS” on þe building’s peak and “OZZIE’S” over þe entranċe.
Blitz's issues were treated as a joke until ep 6-7 because Blitz himself is dismissive and thinks he's a joke. He hides behind sarcasm and humor ALL THE TIME, that's how he copes. Actually, most of HB's characters do that, Loona hides behind her passive-agressive behaviour, for example, so it is to us viewers, to stay focused to notice the moments when their masks slip a little.
And seriously, you didn't think Viv capable of that level of writing ? What ? We talk about the same person who made Angel Dust's backstory and that sh*t goes hard in ADDICT.

Asmodeus showed that lust can take over anyone, even ars goetia and other higher demons. He pointed out how Stolas has literally sold his life because of the lust, which asmodeus is an embodiement of. Since Asmodeus is the prince of lust its kinda obvious why he wants to establish what power and influence his...sin? has on other demons. No matter how high these demons are in demon hierarchy. I am quite sure he is just asserts itself using stolas.

As a child of divorced parents myself, this also looks exactly like a post-divorce custody schedule, and I know what those look like. I got very good at plugging/unplugging all of my game consoles during those years.

I think the reason there was such a sudden transition from Stolas and his fucked up family to fucking divorce is because the focus is supposed to be entirely on Blitzo, Moxxie, and Millie. We rarely see Stolas on his own unless there's going to be something to do with him and the I.M.P. I'm thinking it's supposed to give that sense of randomness, like when you're just having a great day and then suddenly you get a call saying your parents divorced.
Of course, it was very unnatural to me, too. And I think there should've been more context beforehand. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave more information in the last episode of season 1 though.

for the angel dust poster, you can see that watching videos from the pride ring from other rings is possible because Loona is watching Charlie making the video, maybe its more that the tapes are released into that world and not that angel dust is going to preform there, or maybe they are tickets you can buy to go to that ring to be able to go the show, or to market the ideas from the pride ring to begin with.

Sinners can't leave the pride ring, but hell born can go to the pride ring or any ring in that matter, so it makes sense why there would be a angel dust poster. also I think ep 8 of helluva boss would focus more on Blitz's family and luna's and how they came across,social class and the relationships with blitz all backfiring on him, and for him to finally come to accept his past. we may learn more about moxxie's and millie relationship as well knowing how it started.
Fun note. The new helluca trailer showed a newspaper calling ozzie a hypocrite, presumibly bout his relationship witg fizz despite mocking moxxie

I read a post on Tumblr that said Asmodeus can hold a romantic relationship with Fizzarolli without necessary show it on stage because of couse it's the house of Lust, and such things shouldn't be allowed there, while they're on work they can't show that kind of affection and let other people do it as well. Also, he's mocking Stolas' for having fallen into his sin, the lust sin, not because he's in love, but because he let go everything he had because of a simple toy.
They call water fountains "bubblers" in Rhode Island as well. Of course you gotta say "bubbluhs" to get that accent right
My major complaint for this episode is what they try to do to Blitzo and Stolas. The try to paint them in a tragic light, but why should I care when- Exhibit A: Stolas tells Octavia that he actually cares about her (I know what you're thinking and please f*ck off) in episode 2, yet his character develops 0 percent. Exhibit B: Why should I randomly start to care about Blitzo when, throughout the entire series, he's been nothing but an asshole? The whole ending feels like a very rushed character arc that should take 5 episodes at least, yet we don't even get a full episode dedicated to it. It's very poor writing.
Other than that, this was a good episode

On the concept of them not showing Stolas and Stella's divorce, even though this comes down to opinion, im a believer is "show not tell", and they insinuate it pretty well from the beginning of Stolas' first scene of the episode with him sitting at the table alone, then moving to the couch. The shot shows him 100% alone in the castle. no family and no imp servants in that moment. he's issolated, bored, and upset. And i feel like if they made a whole episode about their divorce, itd ruin the little emotions of the scene

I think part of the reason why people love this show so much is because it goes across the line quite a bit. There are very few shows that come close to this one that talk about "taboo" subjects, like bondage (we actually see Stolas and Blitz finishing a bondage scene). The closest I've seen that wasn't an outright hentai is Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.
And the fact that this show talks about taboo subjects with the at the very least good plot is a huge bonus. Adults don't get many shows that are purely for them that aren't porn.
What if the next episode IS watching stolas's pov throughout the 6 previous episodes? Wouldn't that be fucking epic!
Honestly your right, the fandom does over estimate this show a lot, and I say this as someone who loves it to death, and while I won't say every action in Helluva boss has revealed something about the characters as much as the fandom thinks, I do think there was a decent bit of set up

I think the reason that we didn’t see stolas and stellas divorce is because the audience isn’t little kids, it’s teens and adults who don’t need to be blatantly told that a divorce took place you know? We see the first clue when stolas is looking depressed, eating cereal at night, watching a tella novela (if I spelled that wrong then I’m sorry) and then our more obvious clue is that stolas says ‘ octavia is with her mother this weekend ‘ so we don’t see the divorce but we know it happened. I actually liked the idea where there wasn’t a filler episode showing us the divorce and just giving us obvious clues to stolas now being alone. But that’s just my opinion on that
They’re both princes, of cours Ozmodeus knows Stolas's personal life in such impressive detail.

I will agree that it would have been nice to know that Stolas and Stella divorced either before the episode or at least before we see the shot of Stolas. It would have been nice to maybe at least see some divorce papers on the table before they panned to Stolas pouring milk in his cereal. Or maybe show Stolas having a talk with Octavia and comforting her bc she was upset abt how crazy her life has gotten. I do also understand that some of the things the crew might have wanted to include got cut a bit short bc they wanted this episode to be released on the one year anniversary of the show. If they did cut things it’ll likely bc of that. It was at least something that I think most ppl saw coming that Stolas and Stella would divorce and showing us that Stolas was eating alone did kinda hint at the divorce. That scene wasn’t what I had expected it to be like based on ppl’s theories from the promo of Stolas eating alone

a nice little detail is the fact that stolas could have easily just teleported himself back home, but he didn't, he got a ride from blitzo, he just wanted to spend more time with him...
also, i don't think Asmodeus was shaming stolas for cheating on his wife with an imp, i think he was honestly impressed that someone would throw away his entire marriage (and his relationship with his daughter) for having sex with blitz and even called it the true spirit of lust.
That's the impression I got from Asmodeus too. That whole interaction really gives off the idea that Asmodeus thought Stolas was a very wise man, someone who wouldn't just cheat on his wife because he's horny.
