Your understanding of these machines and how to program them and work within the performance is phenomenal. I have a 32 and dfam (and a few other prized synths) but have not unlocked the capabilities as you have here. Bravo.
Sounds great as a combo, got a M32 and contemplating a DFAM. The fx are also adding to the drama, got a Strymon BlueSKy, Boss DD-200 and RE-20. I also like the font you're using the video :)
Do you have to attenuate the CV coming out of the key step? I read that the voltage range was greater than what the Moogs expect and can potentially damage the Moogs. I’m contemplating the same setup and that has me worried! Great jam by the way!
Hello synth godess here, you called for help....don't worry your synths have been given to the chosen one😉😁 they will navigate and guide you to the correct realms of the harmonic values to fragment space and time!

Hi Felix, you've been kind in answering me before. Total noob here, but a good learner. Question: are there any issues with this combo (dfam, m32,keystep)? I really want to be dawless. It seems that every combo I want CAN be done, but there are issues, and not for the noobie (for example, I'd like DFAM and Digitakt but I'd need an 0-coast or the like and I'd break the budget, plus it's too much for a newbie). Keystep can control m32 through midi, and m32 controls dfam (or maybe keystep controls both). Main question: easy enough to do? thanks Felix!
The DFAM, M32, Keystep sounds like a great combo. Super easy to patch in. I bought the KS to control my M32, Roland D-05 and some Volcas at first. What sold me was the ease of switching midi channels on the fly to control the different synths. Now its mainly used in my modular setup. I think there's a reason you see it being used by a lot of people, its just a great little keyboard. Don't worry about the questions, I also consider myself a noob. I've only been doing this for maybe three years now and there's so much to learn, so many different possibilities and routes you can take. Happy to help.
@@felix_ennui thanks Felix. One more, you can make it a quick answer. I feel bad bugging you. Mono Station + DFAM? Mono station has the CV outs like the Keystep. I originally wanted to do Digitakt with DFAM but that's too hard for me right now. I think Mono Station might be nice with the DFAM for what i like to hear (this is a beat-heavy combo potentially)
Ive never used the Mono Station. I remember looking into it when it first came out and thinking it was pretty powerful, but cant remember many of the details. I do own the Circuit and enjoy the pad layout and sequencer workflow. They should pair together just fine. In the world of midi and cv I have yet to have any trouble syncing my gear (knock on wood), the headaches begin when i try to sync my synths to my computer. Its tough, there's so much out there and so many options, you just have to do figure out your workflow and find the easiest way to get the sounds out of your head before losing that spark. It requires a ton of research and I always try to buy used or on sale items.
I don't think so. Whatever fits with your workflow and gets you making music is ok in my book. I've been tempted by a couple of Behringer's offerings but I could never seem to pull the trigger. I think what bothers me about Behringer is their synths lack original ideas and inspiration. I've also never used any of their synths so I kind of worry about quality control. That said, I think giving people more access to cheaper instruments they couldn't otherwise afford or maybe just don't want to invest that much money into can't be such a bad thing. If it sounds and feels good to you, I say go for it.
@@felix_ennui thanks for the reply Felix. I have a Neutron. These things are cheap enough where if something breaks, you can chuck it. I spent a lot on hardware effects which are great. I'll just have to take my time with deciding, thanks.
I agree it’s rad. I own a mother. I want a dfam and a second M32. Have just one has proven pointless unless accompanied by a multi fx pedal. 👍. Keep it up nice sounds
I'd love to drop the money for 2x Mother and a DFAM, but I'm thinking I may do a DFAM and Mother in the stand and add a Crave for a similar sound a lot cheaper. Plus if i get a 2nd Mother eventually, it won't be a waste as the Crave can still do other things.
Left to your own devices. To deepen the connection, just wait, artificial intelligence will lead the way. Could be a dystopian experience though, compared to the blissful paradigm shift you describe. What's that awesome font anyway?
There are no overdubs in Part 1. In Part 2, the scene when the "portal" starts to open up there are some overdubs but thats it. What you see is what you hear. Let me know the time in the video you're referring to and perhaps I can go into more detail on what is happening.
@@RexNovi Yep, the pitch CV from the Keystep is sent to a multiple then to the Mother32's 1v/OCT and DFAM's VCO2 CV. The velocity on the DFAM's step sequencer is what makes the same arp CV sound so varied. So basically the DFAM is doing the drum and bass elements of the patch and the M32 is the lead so to speak. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching.

Best sequence and sound that I've heard come out of these boutique Moogs
Absolutely amazing Jams! Wow. You know what you're doing. Epic!
Every single sound these machines produce goves me goosebumps.
It is funny how, in one of those pieces, you used the Keystep's clock to play the Mother like you would a Subharmonicon !
Hello fellow Moogseter. DFAM next on my list. Nice sounds great vid excellent tinkering.
Excellent vibes!!!! Thank you very much!!
Ok, you got me! I was wondring where this story was going. But when "left to my own devices" came up my eyes rolled clear out my head. Good one.
Great tracks! Cool to see whats possible with this minimalist equipment! 🙏
This is truly good. I have subscribed and tapped that bell. This is the year of the DFAM!

What a dope dark ambient performance!
Fantastic, especially that last one
Damn one of the best jams on yt yo
Bro you just described corona reality with your words towards the end there. You prophet. Great sounds
Was thinking about soundtrack to "Logan's Run" at the end... good stuff, thanks for sharing the audio and video!
Great, humorous, inspiring!
love the piece at then end. Was like John Carpenter V's Sample & Hold :D
Huge noob question , how easy is connecting delar/reverb pedals to modular synths?
You can just run the output of any synth or drum machine to the input of any pedal then out of the pedal to whatever you are using.
I love the oujia message :D
It’s all very good.
Thanks Chad!
Very inspiring!
Awesome!

Do they make keyboard controllers in this form factor, so you can get the three stack case and have a keyboard on the bottom?
Pretty sure they don't
