Jesus Christ. The brass balls that driver has. Stupidity always makes the most amazing videos. Thank god you didn't go flipping down like I've seen ones. Love this video.
If you want to see that, you should watch the old video of the K5 Blazer that loses control coming down (and survives). I'm sure it's on UA-cam somewhere.
Lion's Back was closed in 2004, a few years before I moved to Moab after retireing, so this video has to be well over 18 years. I drove it in 2003 in a Jeep on a trip when living in TN. Really no where near as scary as it looks.
Nice jeep looked like it creeped down it good they have pretty good hold back ik ours is a 95 jeep renegade and its been through about a little of all of different surfaces it still runs like new....cant beat a jeep :) IM A DIE HARD JEEP LOVER
Good question. It's on private property and this was done after the close - there isn't any rubber on the rock any more like when it was open. Maybe they poached it?
Oh my gosh!!! You actually got out of jeep??? I went up and down this before and I wouldn't dare to get out haha!!! Yes It was very scary for me, my heart kept pounding HARD!!!! Even my legs were shaky Haha!!! I haven't been back since 2005.....
no there is a way up the back thats a few small versions of this, theres an almost flat bit inbetween the sections and the little ones are not near as steep.
If you're the boss and telling whoever the driver is to drive that car for advertising purpose, you say: "dude, you gotta make it or else you're done!"
@mhslacrosse69 - as far as I know it's closed now. The video was taken in 2006, and I still can't forget how scary it was. I've done it the first time in 2003 and it was even scarier .
That looks terrifying, even from the safety of my couch. From what I understand, they closed the Lion's Back to the public. Too many accidents/deaths. There's a milder, smaller version of it somewhere near by you can still go on thought.
@@tenmil1 Correct. That area is owned by the Nelson Family. They allowed folks for years until that Blazer footage. Closed right after that. It wasn't old man Nelson that closed it, it was his family. He liked it open, but the family's lawyers won of course.
@@tymesho I didn’t know any of the family names I just knew it was not on public lands. Thank you for filling me in, it sounds like you’ve been in the area for a while.
ahhh yes.....the view at the top is breathtaking. Especially when you're up there at night. To see the once sleepy town of Moab in the early 1990's from up there....and then to lay down your camping bag and sleep under the stars. That could be done then....not so sure about now. Unless the back way up is still accessible. Will have to do it again before somebody gets the bright idea of putting a Taco Bell at the top. ZUK
Tracks can be built for 4x4 use and 4x4s otherwise exist for the purpose of getting to otherwise inaccessible areas for a good reason, or at least doing so using a route that won't be damaged either physically or visually.
Buddy and I did it one night drunker than a boatload of sailors on their first night in port. Yes, at night ! And if you think that was nuts, wait until you hear this... We did it in a 1963 Cadillac ! Word is if you look close, you can still see our turds scattered around in the rocks. We both lost 25 pounds that night !
BigBendBroncos Don't know if you've ever been to Moab but the traction is ridiculous. It's like driving on sandpaper, you notice he didn't so much as squeak a tire coming down. We drove my old junkheap Ramcharger from West Texas to Moab last year, wheeled for a week and had a blast. Wanted to go again this year but life keeps getting in the way.
1:23 If you want to skip till the actual "Driving down" part
Thanks!!!! That was a long warm up.
Thank you!!
Not all heros wear capes!
Skip and Buffy arguing was the best part of the video.
I think Buffy made the best point. Skip was a of an ass. LoL
Two words: Fuck That!!!!
kamu itu ngomong apa ??

Was anyone else expecting to see him drive down full speed? 😂
If you want to see that, you should watch the old video of the K5 Blazer that loses control coming down (and survives). I'm sure it's on UA-cam somewhere.
+techojappa it is. and it's awesome. lol.
look up Moab-the crash or lions back either will take you to the video

@@techojappa The "back-story" is just as crazy.

Are you being serious? The width of the road is what I wouldn't like.
That looks crazy--wouldn't wanna try that in the rain!
Low range, slow and steady. Piece of cake with a great view.
That is so awesome!!! I was holding my breath the entire time!!!!
“I wish this person the best.”
Lol, that was like a eulogy!
I got dizzy just watching. Does anyone know the grade of the slope I'm thinking somewhere around 70 degrees which is crazy.
Darth Vader, get off the camera controls.
I could barely breathe watching that! Awesome!!!
How did you get the car up there in such a good starting direction???????
Keep up the good work….cowards like me need the inspiration.
Good job! That looks awesome!
oh hell no i would need at least 3 pairs of underwear to do that
@ev838 how do you think they got up there in the first place? there is only one way up.
How do you get to the top?
how many degrees?
He must of been so happy to have gotten to the end in one piece
Why did they close it?
Is there a big enough turnaround up there?
Wait is it still open? I though it got closed down awhile back because people were wrecking?
How did you get up?
how he got there up ?
Exactly how steep is it?
How they got up there?
Is it steeper than Baby Lions Back, or just much bigger?
So you turn around at the top?
Wow that's a beautiful formation!
just imagine your breaks get broken up there :P
how high up is that dude?
Ofir Edri what is the second scariest thing you have done?
Nice jeep looked like it creeped down it good they have pretty good hold back ik ours is a 95 jeep renegade and its been through about a little of all of different surfaces it still runs like new....cant beat a jeep :) IM A DIE HARD JEEP LOVER
i seen a guy roll his truck down the lion back on tv. why is it closed now ?
I think i left my iphone there can we double back?
Bucket Brigade to the rescue....that's pretty damn funny dispenser...would've been nice to see you drive up !
4 low in 1st. He has a perfectly good relationship with his brakes.
piece of cake....!!!
i did that 8 times with my grandma as navigator
Good question. It's on private property and this was done after the close - there isn't any rubber on the rock any more like when it was open. Maybe they poached it?

I was at Easter Jeep safari in 2000 when a 4Runner went off the right side, the shell of the 4Runner is still there.
That is nuts... did you have special equiptment on that?
Hey do you think my corrola will survive im planning to go soon?
😂😂😂😂😂😂

you trust your E brake? casue i dont
What do you have under the hood?
impressive my man, impressive!
This would have made the best jeep commercial ever..
I get that we know a vehicle will hold on this thing. It's still very ballsy to do this. My question is, who was the first to do this?
Que ,Bruto que bárbaro no me canso de ver esa acrobacia !!!!!! 👏🚘🚖🚍🚐🗻🏔🏞
What if they fell??

WEAK
It’s closed to public because it’s on private property. Always has been private property as far as I know.

Lions back is privately owned. Question is...would you pay to drive up and down it? If so, how much?
I thought they closed this? Or is it on private land by permission only?
Nice job..
Congrat, Ofir....this would be a nightmare for me....and probably would last the rest of my life....
Did it in 2000 in a farabee rented stock TJ. It was awesome. Think I did an Austin Powers turn around at the top, didn't wanna go near the edge. ;-)
thats a big hill how did you get up and dowen
going down is quite often scarier than going up-at least with dirtbiking. PROPS DUDE
You uploaded this in 2010. Did they reopen Lion's Back or is this an old video?
how'd he get up there?

Best jeep commercial ever
The same way, up?
@crackerstolemybike did u count the word "words"?
Wowww, that is SO worth risking your life for.
You've got some serious balls, mate.
I have balls but not those balls. My ole lady would be having a panic attack.
it must have been difficult to drive that jeep down that steep incline
Ahhhhhhhh! (that's me yelling at the top of my lungs if i were this person!) awesome ride.
That was insane! But cool.
friggin awesome! my blood starts pumping every time i see anything steep, but holy shit!
I don't I breathed while watching that descent. BALLS!! Chrome plated, hardened steel balls!
"That might distract him" Ohh dont worry about it!
🙏 A man with lion heart,only doing this.......salute boss from India 🇮🇳.
just the vid alone got my adrenaline pumping, must look pretty crazy at the top lol
Did you ever see the vid where the chevy lost breaks & slipped a gear at the same time? pretty scarey with no one hurt bad.
Why?
when he zoomed out it was much less scary looking.
Tell us again how you are an expert on the matter and have been there.
Awesome!

I have been up some hills and down some hills in my time but that is something right there
at first the camera angle looked crazy then it looks okay at 2:25
nice vid
Balls of steel sir!
I wish it was still open to the public!!!!
I thought they closed that part
