Glad our paths crossed around mile 23. Marathons are such a physical and emotional rollercoaster. Running together with you and Jimmy to the finish line is something I will remember forever. Congrats on another strong PB! 🏃♂️🔥🔥🔥
Huge respect Floris. Running and training for a marathon can be such a selfish sport especially when u consider the miles and hours of training u put into it leading up to race day. U looked so fresh and composed and then for u to drop your race and focus on helping out a brother... thats a random act of kindness and giving that is a beacon of hope and inspiration to the world. Thats what I call a real Personal Best.
You and Jimmy focused on helping Kofuzi at the end is so inspiring. I was bawling my eyes out at his video this morning. The absolute generosity had me floored.
It just felt right to run those last few miles together. His edit is really good. I don’t know how he is able to record and edit so quickly, yet get those emotions from the crowds across so well on his videos. 🙏🙌
You are such a great human for seeing Mike and instantly changing your game plan to supporting him in his goal of going sub 3. That’s a brutal part of the race so to still have such a positive and altruistic mindset at that point is just incredible. Hats off to you.
It helped that my main goal was to get to the finish line healthy, injury free. Any time goals were secondary. Glad to share those last challenging miles together. 😎
Floris, Congrats on the race! You are an amazing person to slow down and help out Michael. You are also an inspirational person to follow. I am glad and proud to join your PB program.
This is one of my favorite running videos ever, it sums up what running is about in a practical way. Much respect. Thanks to you and all the more experienced runners for taking the time to help others like me who are just starting.
Wow! New subscriber here. Love how you and Coach Jimmy Dean stuck with Kofuzi! This was my first marathon (at 49 yo) and while the course was tough after mile 20, the support of fellow runners and crowds was amazing. Now I see why so many people get hooked. looking forward to more videos.
Congrats on your first marathon! You surely picked out a challenging course for your first big dance, nice work. It was great to share some unplanned miles together on race day with Mike and Jimmy. Enjoy your next races!
I love your channel even though I'm not a runner. I'm actually disabled and barely able to walk . But I do love the psychology of marathon running. It's a good philosophy that can be transferred to success in any area of life.
Floris, man, what an inspiring finish, I had to watch it more than once, I can't recall seeing a marathon youtube video that was so amazing; I mean, this was real, all the raw emotions; like something written out of a Hollywood script and ironically, this was in LA. I only knew you were running when I caught you on Kofuzi shakeout and Asics gathering video; congrats and kudos
This was extremely moving. We have all been there in the last mile. When you have another soul with you who knows the struggle but sees the way through-it helps beyond words. So glad you shared this with us as well. Thank you!
THIS is what the world needs! Thank you in the name of the running community and whole humanity for being role models, helping each other to new horizons
Congratulations Floris! Looked like you were having so much fun. Love how this turned into a collab with Kofuzi! So nice to see you working together to get the miles done.
Thank you Susan! I felt happy to be running healthy and injury free. Combining that with some unplanned miles with friends and it’s a winning race in my books 😎🥳
I thought that was you I saw at the end of kofuzi's post. Fantastic video. (also good to see you on the road) , I agree he burned up everything but kept going!
Floris! Congrats! Thanks for sharing, and great to see Ko as well!👍💪💪 we are running the love run in Philly this weekend.. I will be watching this over and over for some inspiration!
What a absolute wonderful example of what this running community is all about. Love that u helped cheer Mike on. U guys rock! Big ups to coach Jimmy too!
Another comment to express how beautiful you guys helping someone try and achieve his dream was. That reminds me of the Welsh Runner (Matt Rees) who put his pb attempt aside to help a stranger who could barely stand
Nice to meet you in Kofuzi’s event on Friday. LA Marathon is not at all easy. Great video. Saw you in mile 24. It was me who was screaming at Michael 😆.
I was watching his video and thought maybe you guys were together the whole time. Glad the universe lined you guys up at that exact moment to catch him and help him dig deeper than he could have alone!
Solid LA Marathon race! This was a tough, hilly course. I was aiming for 2:45 and I tried to run even effort by HR pacing but my legs started to cramp up in the last 7-8 miles so I ended up slowing to a 2:50:xx. Anyways, congratulations to all of you!
Oh man!!! Does this not capture the final push of a marathon or what. Mile 20 is where it really starts. I can literally FEEL exactly what Mike is going thru in those last miles. Major kudos to him for giving it all he had, you could tell by his face he had no regrets crossing the finish line. And kudos to guys as well for coaching him down the stretch. The energy from others helps you summon the courage to dig like you would never be able to do on your own.
It was pretty incredible to watch Mike fight hard and giving it his all. Especially when running together with our other friend Jimmy, made the day pretty special.
It's amazing to see, how different a race Floris is having to the one Kofuzi is experiencing! I consider Kofuzi to be quite an accomplished runner and in extremely good shape, yet Floris makes it seem so relaxed! What the hell???
Really inspiring the way y’all ran together and helped each other. That’s what makes running such a great sport. The camaraderie. Thanks Floris, and congratulations to Mike!
Amazing. Glad to see you boost Mike. He almost made sub 3. Amazing race! This embodies what running is all about. To me, at least. It's not about finish times, footage, bragging rights... It's about pushing as hard as you can, living in those moments... Really coming *ALIVE* for that short time. Only running has given me this feeling. I was a competitive powerlifter and did MMA, but nothing has quite given me that feeling of running to *my* best. Even if my best is laughable to most great runners. Thanks for sharing this.
congrats on the race Floris and great job helping kofuzi. saw you two on the other side of the turnaround and was rooting for the sub 3. see you in chicago as well. can't wait to run a flat marathon!
You and coach Jimmy are full of heart!!! Loved the comradery. You were going strong but you slowed down to help push Kofuzi to a PR on a tough course!!
Totally know what you mean. I moved to LA 15 years ago and finally checked it off my list. Honestly I hope they change the course back to finish by the beach. Those hills were no joke.
Awesome! So great of you and coach Jimmy to push Kofuzi to the finish. That's what life is all about. Much love and respect. Hopefully see you out there next race Lord willing. ✌🏽❤️🤙🏽🎉🥇
Well done on great running and so good seeing you all running together. Chicago is such fun and i'm sure you will have a great time there. Certainly a LOT more spectators than LA!
This year will be my first marathon after 2 years, seeing kofuzi struggle through the last miles, reminds me how much we have to suffer in order to reach our goals. I loved when you said on mile 20 “ this is where the marathon starts “ , thanks for your video
So cool to see this. I saw the Kofuzi video and it was great to see you and Jimmy help out.BTW, I also saw you around the Mammoth Trail Fest but didn’t get to say hi. I did part of the 26k and the Dragon’s Back. Looks like you had a good race.
The extra energy you were putting out to help Ko get to sub 3 is so admirable. One of the neatest race vlogs I have witnessed. Congrats on your first race back. Cheers!
So cool to see your support for a friend trying to achieve his goals! I watch both your channels and am practicing low heart rate training seeing huge benefits compared to previous training
The ending is almost what Steven Spielberg would have made to make us freaking die. Great footage. I am sure Mike will be forever happy for the cheering you were able to offer him.
Loved your video and that you ran with Kofuzi at the end; I admire both of you and have spent hours watch both of your videos. Thanks for all your insight. One day I will run a marathon. I continue to experience nagging calf injuries but I am working with a coach in Michigan and continue to be optimistic.
Floris, it's my first time watching your videos after I saw Kofuzi was in it. It was so great watching you give support to Kofuzi when it seemed like you could have finished in a shorter time. Great karma for you!
wow, you look like it is so easy for you! also, such a great encouragement for your friend! i teared up (but then again i always do at videos of marathon finish lines)
Congrats on your race, great time!!! I have the exact same watch with you... I am really in love with it!!! My first marathon will be at 10 of April... I am looking forward to it!!!!
I have my first marathon in 2.5 years coming up in two weeks. Have only really had since Christmas to prepare for it. Equally excited and nervous about it. Really don’t know what time I am capable of but I am looking forward to it. Loved watching this and Kofuzi’s videos……got me in the racing mood!
This is a really good video. I agree with you. It would be great racing and meeting other people again! Luckily I have a HM waiting for me on April 23 in Stockholm.
Thanks Ash! The marathon rollercoaster is real, glad we all survived another wild race day experience haha. I’m excited to follow all your training and racing progress. 🏃♂️🔥🔥🔥
thanks so much for dragging me through until the end! I couldn't have gotten through without you guys!
Glad our paths crossed around mile 23. Marathons are such a physical and emotional rollercoaster. Running together with you and Jimmy to the finish line is something I will remember forever.

You said what I wanted to say. You were angel to Mike!
Glad the timing worked out well to run together with friends during the end of a race 🥳😎
Btw, too bad you weren’t able to join Duc and me for the run on Tuesday. Hopefully I can join you guys for a run the next time I’m in town.

You did a great job supporting Kofuzi 👏 when you could have subbed 3 hours. Well done 👏
Runners helping runners. Beautiful. You showcased the true human spirit.
It is really fun, It's really fast. Great job and your doing great our communities and good looking forward.
