Paul Morphy has, without question, a most beautiful chess mind. His games could hang on the wall of an art museum! Thank you, Igor, for another great video. Keep the Morphy games coming!!!
Who’s my most appreciated chess player… Morphy or Tal?! Today Morphy because I’m watching his game today… Perhaps Tal depending what pops up in my feed.

At 5:36, there was also Queen to e6#, besides Queen c7# as played by Morphy in the game. So early in the game and white could choose how to checkmate his oponent! I have always been saying that the real GOAT was Morphy, and only then Fischer, Magnus, and Kasparov, as Morphy was the only one who didn't have such great predecesors and such plathora of chess material to learn from as the latter 3 had, not to mention computer engines that can give you and teach you the best moves from any given position, live coverage of chess tournaments with grandmasters analyzing every move, strategy, etc.
Chess games then: I will sacrifice every pieces to beat you. It doesn't matter I will lose. Someone has to get knockouted. Chess games now: I think I'll play London.
Damn, that first game was really beautiful. How the heck did he see all of that blindfolded! These are the kind of games which make you go 'ooh!' and appreciate the true beauty of chess
I love the games of Morphy and have played the kings gambit for about fifty five years, last thirty five of these I have played kings bishops gambit given the chance.
The King's Gambit is the best opening for intermediate players to improve at tactics and aggressive play in my opinion. You're guaranteed to get it on move 2 if your opponent plays e5 (unlike the Evans gambit for example where there are so many ways to avoid it), the games are very sharp, you have a strong center, there's potential for sacs, it's double edged, you have to learn to make concessions like Kf1 to keep the attack going. Incredible opening.
When I was 12-13 yo (circa 2000), I learned chess and became obsessed with it during the summer months along with my best friend. We ended up joining a local chess club, where I played "home tournaments" and got rated at 1400. My favorite opening with white was the King's Gambit, I had excellent results with this one and even seasoned casual players were caught off guard by this one. The speed at which you can gain positional dominance with this opening is quite impressive.
Thank you for another great video! My only problem is that the last 7 times in a row that I played the King's Gambit as White, Black declined the gambit. In Morphy's day, I've heard that it was considered cowardly to decline a gambit.
I'd heard that same statement, myself. Especially as, Morphy was a Southern gentleman and, there were social implictions attached to every action a man made.
Sir, your vedios are always impressive. Can u help me to understand how can I improve my chess. Although I practice my rating still is 1200 . What should I do to improve my raiting. Do reply Regards
Paul Morphy is and MIkael Tal were the only two players that could get into such a dominant position by just saccing all of their material, but you'd never know either one was down a minor piece if you played against them.
Hi master Igor, can you please 🙏 also put some games of another fantastic and a genius chess player unknown named sultan khan, who defeated all top chess players including jose Raul capablanca!

Will try to memorize that first game. I have been playing king's gambit wrong.

It's not just me, then 🙂

Still looking for the best defense against kings-gambit!
Check out the Falkbeer counter gambit. It's one of the most annoying to deal with as a KG player.

Morphy wasn't a chess player, he was an artist.
So most of his games are draws?

At 2:20 , what if black plays knight to h6 instead of pawn to h6?
D4,take the centre while attacking f4
Better move!
How to win 90% of games with kings gambit in 2 easy steps...
