    Pruning:
In the summer months, the Hong Kong Orchid tree grows very fast. you will need to prune the tree at least once a month in the summer.
    Propagating:
    * 4-5 inch cutting with new growth
    * Cut off all other leaves
    * Prepare your pots with a 50/50 mixture of Perlite and Peat Moss
    * Get the soil nice and wet
    * Use a skewer stick to make a hole in the soil
    * Dip the cutting in rooting hormone
    * Place the cutting in the hole
    * Place the pot in a clear plastic box
    * Most the plants and the box with water
    * In 6-8 weeks you should have some roots and can plant in a bigger planter

This was a very cute video! Thank you for talking about the maintenance requirements. I am thinking about getting one of these as the center piece of my garden.

My tree was planted in the spring in S Hillsborough County. Branches are snapping off yet there are buds and a few new leaves. No idea what to do for it. The nursery guy that planted it says it's fine. I didn't ask for this tree in particular, just a couple of trees. I'm ready to get it pulled out. 😢

They do loose a few of the thin branches. Mine is just starting to get flowers. They smell so heavenly. By this time next month it should be full of blooms

Does it need weekly water? I'm not finding great instructions on how to care for it

In the 1st 3-5 years I would give it a good watering once a week in the dry season. They get established pretty quickly. Once established I rarely water, it gets enough water from the rain. It is pretty drought tolerant as well. I had trouble finding care instructions in the beginning as well. It could be because it is a hardy try that gets established quickly and pretty much takes care of it's self.

never mind. I have a huge beauty in my garden, I will try it from the many shoots that a growing from the trunk( even with flower) I will plant them in small individual pots with a plastic bag to cover , fastened with elastic bands. Thanks for trying& I love your honesty.
