      Thanks for the feedback Jim. We appreciate you watching. Glad you enjoyed it. There are quite a few trails across the bay. We’re looking forward to going back. Do you have any trails over there that are on your bucket list?

      The trail you went on connects to some longer options. Also want to hike China Poot Lake/Poot Peak trail. Lots of great trails near Skilak though. I recommend Hideout Trail as great views with minimal effort.

      @DustinFaddis  3 роки тому +1

      @@jimflothe9693 we saw a few other options when we were over there. One was a ridge trail that went up over toward the south East side of the glacier. We were thinking of doing that one next time. Skilak lake has a bunch of trails we would love to hike. We will look into hideout trail. Thanks for the recommendation. Are there any other Areas that you recommend to visit here in Alaska?

      When I lived in Fairbanks we would hang out on the Upper Chena River, Harding Lake, and Quartz Lake. Other trips in Alaska though I really love the Denali Highway and the Richardson Highway down to Valdez. The Kenai Peninsula is my favorite for all around activities.

      Thank you, we had a great time. Yeah we definitely have pack some protection with us. We’ve come across bear before. It never makes it on video because that’s the last thing on our minds 😆. We normally don’t put ourselves in bad positions when the kids are around. We make lots of noise so we don’t see anything up close. Do you have something to carry as well?, we have a .454 casull

      @@DustinFaddis unfortunately i'm in california. the options for personal protection are limited. i'd like an alaska in your caliber. or even a judge in 45-70. i'l probably settle for a 10 in whatever flavor is allowed and stocked. not really and bear in my neighborhood. plenty of rats...

    I like Seward a lot better than Homer. The mountains are so much closer. The only thing that sucks about Seward is the City operated campground ocean front use to be first come first serve and you paid onuce you parked in front of the entrence only 15 Bucks a night. Now you have to reserve on line and its 40 bucks. Totally sucks but still very beautiful
