Love watching you n these ol hd s rite before the battery was down a bolt of juice came down and saved your day vid never get tired of watching the man machine and the myth of Harley davidson disease
I know this is older post but this is almost exactly what I'm looking for , my first hd was 82 with that emblem you mention a roadster model black + orange bought new by me at age 19.
so inspiring to finish rebuilding my old man 87 flhtc . its being sitting for the last 7 years in a shed.... so its in pretty ruff shape.. so many good memories as a kid sitting in the back just cruising around with the old man .my friend told me to get a ninja he says its pretty fast.... lol... but its not always about speed am i right ? love the vids ! lots a cool bike
old video but i disagree. i was shovelhead for very long time. fix it ride it a little and fix it. my evo i never see truett and osborne shop. evo is the best for me. i go and go and go. they all great really.
Great video. I just learned a few days ago about the 1982 commentatore badge snd for whatever reason mine doesn’t have one. Now I’m left wondering if the persons before my dad swapped a fender or something, lol. That’s ok. It will be going back in when I finish rebuilding it though
S&S carbs are great, but not necessary to make a Harley run good. I had an 81 FLH back in 85 that I had the motor rebuilt on. They put in a bigger cam and replaced the stock khein carb with a larger hi-performance Khein carb and that thing was wild.
What are your thoughts about using small diameter hi collar split lock washers under the cap screws on Harley Davidson Motorcycles to stop them from coming loose?
I personally love lock washer's. Sometimes the tall ones work, sometimes you cannot use them. Other times a lock washer is not usable. Cylinder bolts and head bolts are great examples.
@@HuntingHarleys The other problem was that the casting on the heads those years sometimes came out porous. I can remember at the dealership having to take some and fill the top valve spring area with oil and put in the oven to see if they would leak after heating up. Most of the time, you could spray paint the area with heat paint to slow it down. I know this was a cold start and not the case, just brought back memories of an old shovel. Thanks for your video.
In a way that"s good if they all go to japan, there won't be a whole lot of old H-D "S left in this country down the road, supply and demand prices 's will go up harder to find.better profits for selling buying different story .
Wow , I thought there was going to be trouble. Dog said... nice Honda. Biker just gives dog that look... Dog gets it ...runs away in high speed waddle.
@@Jisstifer83626 You mean the live to ride emblem on the handlebar mount cover? Another factory accessory. Don't know if J&P makes them or not. The live to ride thing was really big in the 80's. Anyone with any extra $ almost always had that all over their machine. VERY common, then.
@@HuntingHarleys oh I get that I love the design to this day and I was born in the 80s. I have the live to ride derby cover on my 07 heritage classic. I just know j&p sells accessories with that logo but they replace "Harley Davidson" at the bottom with "eagle spirit." www.jpcycles.com/product/4000145/j-p-cycles-live-to-ride-ride-to-live-eagle-spirit-air-cleaner-insert

Just bought a 1984 FLH Electra glide same color love the bike 6391 miles in the process of restoring sat for 15 years in dry storage
These 80s Shovel FLH's, are becoming my favorite Harleys.
out of every mag wheel ever offered by HD I love that style mag the most, modern but still has an old school spoke look without spokes .
That little dog that ran up to the bike was funny!
D J Tanner the dog was like cool shovel Todd 😂
shovel268, all dogs automatically know that old Harley's are cool!
The dog thought that was his Uber....
This is exactly what I'm looking for Todd. Real nice bike.
The dog was priceless! LoL
FLH , top of the line. Back then, the bike to have.
It was about 6,000.00 out the door back then.
I know this is older post but this is almost exactly what I'm looking for , my first hd was 82 with that emblem you mention a roadster model black + orange bought new by me at age 19.
I'm starting to know bikes better thanks to you.

Beautiful machine!
I had a 1982 FLH striped down just like that back in the day.
I love these videos; one day I'd like to visit the shop - a long hike from Atlanta on my Sportster :)
Nice Scooter 👍
I have a 1982 FLH love that bike
Shovelheads RULE !!!
The shovelhead is the best looking of all. The new H/D's look foreign.
old video but i disagree. i was shovelhead for very long time. fix it ride it a little and fix it. my evo i never see truett and osborne shop. evo is the best for me. i go and go and go. they all great really.
Someones going to enjoy that....very nice.

The dogs and Harleys lol love it
That dog was like.. " nice bike!!" Lol
Bear loved chasing the bikes. RIP Bear
@@HuntingHarleys aww... RIP bear
Bad ass machine!
82's are great bikes , run good and stop good w no AMF on the tank !
1982 -1988 were the very best years of harley production in my opinion.
....and you can thank AMF for saving Harley.
3:24 oh shit, lil chopper taking over for bear
that's the neighbors doodoo, I call him Houdini as he always escapes their yard
82 was the year that I graduated high school.
He said it was smooth running bike but allowed it to idle. Kept working the throttle and it died on him at the end. Clogged carb?
not quite warm enough for where the idle was set at

Chihuahua stole the show
Neighborhood watchdog runs out to investigate sudden loud noise
todd, i've never seen clutch and break levers like that. what is the purpose of those?
Style, era aftermarket
Hey Todd does it have a windshield. Super classic bike!
..love the bike....what did you get for it....
Had a white police edition 1982 commemorative
nice bike lucky buyer
...holy shyte Todd....thought you kicked it :)
cant get rid of me that easily
haha...like your posts and how you'r doing.
Thomas ik doen
Huug

and rear belt drive
My dream
Looks like it could use a valve sal job smokes blue smoke...but so what it's a beautiful bike!
These had valve seals. When they sit for a time, the seals "go bad" but will often reseal with some riding.

Oh yea
Did that one go to Japan ?
where else?
In a way that"s good if they all go to japan, there won't be a whole lot of old H-D "S left in this country down the road, supply and demand prices 's will go up harder to find.better profits for selling buying different story .
possibly. Sure has worked that way for Knuckle and Pan stuff
In a way it is ironic. Modern H/D's look like Japanese motorcycles. Japanese collectors
prefer old (steel) H/D classics. LOL!
they have a yen for american real bikes
Dogs, neighbors, always something, lol
👍👌😎

1:33 someone put some j&p knockoff "eagle spirit" emblem on there.
Those are factory accessory gas tank Eagle Emblems. VERY popular in the early 1980's along with the Live to ride slogan.
@@HuntingHarleys I'm referring to the emblem on the handlebar
