Attention Numbuh Fringe! Sooper triple mega huge thanks to you and EVERY operative in the comments for your kind words, thoughts, reminiscences, nostalgia, hopes, and dreams for more Codename: Kids Next Door missions. We here on Moonbase Zero have every confidence that one day the tales of the Galactic: Kids Next Door will be told. We don't know when. But it's only a matter of time. And when that time comes... recommission EVERYONE! Numbuh Eleventy Billion End Transmission
I just wanna say, Kids Next Door was hands down my favorite series of all time growing up with Cartoon Network. Although lots of shows on CN were either hit or miss for me, KND was a show I couldn't get enough of. My gratitude goes to you for making my childhood that much better, thank you Mr. Warburton. In fact, I stopped watching Cartoon Network around the time KND ended, and that was no coincidence. Although I've long since grown into adulthood, I look forward to being recommissioned when the time comes, and I really wanna see GKND become fully realized. Kids next door rules! P.S. I loved that episode with the KND backstory lore in it being a big reference to the Animatrix lore film; that has especially always stuck with me, even to this day as something I remember very fondly.
I remember your show as a kid it was awesome I remember coming home from an awful school day just to see your cartoon play on the TV many years ago I can remember when on the weekends I would watch cartoons all day including holiday day offs I can remember in the long sunny summer days off from school I would watch your cartoon and others all day I'm almost in my mid 20's soon and it's really sad that cartoon network is just a husk of its former self and now I just reside here on the internet on UA-cam talking to people and other fans of cartoons reminiscing the past if you want to make a cartoon UA-cam is the best idea
Kinda ironic that the series main villains were “evil adults against fun” and in the end a big corporation stopped the creator from making another fun show
I'm barely in but the fact that you even made an acronym for the video is just golden. The acronyms throughout the show were some of my favorite, I used to pause the show to guess the words.
One of the major reasons CN didnt greenlit it was cause of the change of CEOs and the massive restructuring over the years. It was caught in the black hole like so many shows at the time and was just another victim to the decade change.
don't forget the whole "children first" thing. It sparked some controversy that the show depicted kids violently rebelling against adults, even though it was technically only "evil" adults
I always interpreted Numbuh 1 joining the Galactic KND as him and his family moving away from home and leaving all his friends behind. That’s one thing I’ve always loved about this show even as an adult, how it isn’t just a mindless kids show. You can watch it from an adult’s perspective and still enjoy it because it’s a bunch of kids using their imaginations to run rampant and have the time of their lives, all while the adults in the show play along.
@@andrewlowrance4609 That would explain why the other kids would still see his parents. The parents stayed in the town/ their home. It was only number one who left.
The galactic kids next door can still happen as a hbo max show. Don't let go of hope just yet, especially since warner is changing due to a new discovery deal.
I love the ending of Interviews because it shows that they’re all still Kids Next Door Operatives. They were never decommissioned. Which I think is one of the main lessons of KND. The series shows you that there’s something truly special about being a kid and depicts growing up as something horrible but inevitable. BUT even though you do grow up you can still be a kid at heart. “It’s not your age that’s changed, it’s you.”
I wouldn't say so. Tbh, the way they act in those interviews is pretty... sad. Especially Number 3, it feels like she lost almost all of her personality after growing up
“At the age of 15” KND operatives are decommissioned on their 13th birthdays. The only exceptions are those who go undercover with the secretive TND to keep tabs on adults and other teenagers.
@@killersannin5459 well it’s hard to say since I don’t think anyone explained if they do or not but since Maurice (who was Numbuh 9 when he was an KND Operative) faked his decommission to join the TND I would assume not unless it’s under circumstances (like if one of them turns evil or something.)
@@moonbased7796 well in a sense the adults like father know that and play along. I mean thats kind of the moives plot. Grandfather is like 10x more cruel for no reason. Heck he cruel to other adults. So the OG KND kind of team up with the adults in the end. And after 0s brother seen all this. Knowing he too weak to be KND or adults. And that both sides had good and bad point. He make the current version of the KND struggle. A struggle but one that doesn't hurt everyone for no reason. He keeping the balance. That why he took the KFDTL away and destroyed the how to do it. They are a exp if ether side going to far. That can be seen at the whole point of 2nd little Brother arc. He's not KND but know tons of there secrets and what an what happens if either side get too much power. So it easy to see that in say 10-30 year Little 2 grows up joined the adults gets told about grandfather and told aboutn what really going on. Then trained by father who let him take over.
Damn near cried when I saw that picture "stay young". I never got to watch the finale and now that I'm much older; seeing that picture truly broke my heart, because as a kid I thought I'd be young forever... I forgot about this fantasy I wished for.. and seeing that picture reminded me of those cherished memories I had, but it also reminded me of the sad truth that it's all gonna end some day.. damn
I did cry, I watched the show when I had 12-13 years and now I'm 27, I don't feel old or anything but that "stay young" really touched something inside.
I remember thinking similarly as a child. It seemed like that was my life. That's how it was going to be forever. I was such an imaginative, play pretend, go on make believe adventures, video games. I did have a pretty dang good childhood. Seemed nearly perfect looking back on it as a 28 yr old adult. As kids our concept of time, age, futures, change. We don't really understand it. It seems like we sort of forget after a certain age that almost nostalgic, freeing, pure, ambition we had as children. How time seemed to move so much slower and we didn't really know what it meant. As an adult, and well 2 decades after being a ''child'' I still sometimes have those moments where I'll have a flashback of an old neighborhood I used to live in, the friends I had living around me, the games and imagination adventures we used to go on all the time. The days of just sitting on the floor and playing video games with my brother, or just a beautiful memory about that time in my life. It creates such a bittersweet feeling. Cause on one hand, I do love remembering those times, those more innocent, simpler, carefree times. But also knowing I may never feel that way again because of all the things all the life I have went through since then. I have definitely changed, some for the worse, some for the better. But there will always, I feel be that inner child who has never really grown up wishing for a better life, more innocent times, that part of me that makes me forget I am closer to 30 than I'll ever be a teenager again.
I forgot how sad KND could be. Turning 13 was a death of sorts. Seeing adult #3 as a bitter fun-hating adult was especially brutal. But there was the bright light that #1 never got older
@@lucasmouraquaresma that’d be nice. I’d love it if #s2-5 were all able to keep their memories and secretly worked to improve lives for kids. Mostly I just need to see my good sis Kuki Sanban supporting Rainbow Monkeys
Isn't it more depressing though if they never grow up? I mean, how long can someone just fuck around in a treehouse playing pretend with the other neighbor kids before it becomes either creepy or pathetic? If I saw someone playing the way they do, well past the age of even starting high school I'd- Wait.... did I..... turn into.... one of the..... BAD GUYS?!??! WHEN THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!?!
This shows lore was so cool it was avengers level before avengers was even in theaters. It truly is a testament to just how structured and entertaining a show made for kids can really be. I’ll always remember it as one of the best shows Cartoon Network gave us.
@@bitchassmcgee9708 right? I was under the impression that the Avengers was for kids. When I watched one of the films, I realized that I was indeed correct.
Wow CGI Father unlocked some memories. We need more kid's show creators like Mr. Warburton. He has such a unique and special voice. KND was all about kids being kids and every kid having a role to play. Every kid is special and every kid is needed. That's what I took away from KND.
The creator of the show, Mr. Warburton, and Patrick Warburton (the guy who does the same voice for characters like Joe from Family Guy or Sheriff from Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated) are not the same person, sorry to say. I know, I though the same too, but they're different.
I’d have to agree. Last I looked into CN they’re airing that abomination “Teen Titans GO!” most of the day with nothing original left. People are turning to the internet more and more and iirc CN is having a hard time changing gears. I feel sorry for the people who lose their jobs but CN will die if it doesn’t embrace the internet and bring some quality shows back on. GKND would be a big step for them. Bringing back the original teen titans too. Only time will tell now.
Codename: Kids Next Door is a perfect showing of how wonderfully powerful the childhood imagination can be and how important it is in growing up Even as an adult, long having last seen this show when I was little, it stuck with me not just because of nostalgia or because of how well it was made It taught a valuable lesson: no matter how old you get, stay young at heart That final farewell picture of "Stay Young" shows that in a beautiful but heart wrenching way This show truly is one of a kind
This lives in my brain as one of, if not the greatest finale to a series. Numerous callbacks to old episodes, the episode itself acts as another typical mission Sector V always does, and that goodbye scene... my goodness, that goodbye scene absolutely destroyed me. As a kid, I recorded this episode when it first aired and would often rewatch it whenever I wanted to get some feels out.
I’m deadass showing this to my future kids. It inspired so much creativity in me, with their hodge podge weapons making me want to make catipults, and want to learn to fix things. I love kids shows where the kids act like real kids
Me too haha, they don’t make em like this anymore. Ed, edd and eddie too because it kinda displayed the whole going outside and making an adventure with your friends ordeal, bangers.
I remember the KND ending all too well, "Operation INTERVIEWS" was a pretty good episode especially since it gave us a pretty good interpretation of what the members of Sector V would look like as adults...although the ending was pretty sad since Numbuh 1 had to leave his team in order to join the Galactic KND.
Man I forgot how much this show shaped me. I started playing with tools and scrap wood and eventually building skate ramps because of KND and now I build stuff with my step son. Hearing a recap of the ending I only watched once as a kid literally made me cry. This show was so great, thank you for this video haha
I still think the weirdest part of the ending (and the biggest injustice considering the following KND had, was that it was only ever officially aired once. Only ONCE. That just is insane to me
Nah it aired once and then the next Friday after that and the next couple weeks and maybe years spaced out after that...then youtube came along and nothing really ever aired "just once" again
What? No. Here in Mexico it aired multiple times. We had week-long specials with the episodes of that day repeating a couple of times everyday. If you missed one in the morning, you saw it after school. At least that's how I saw the last one.
I cried as a 13 year old seeing the scene where they all say goodbye! Kids Next Door was one of my fav shows as a kid and watching the finale, with me being 13 at the time, was emotional.
KND was always a 'weird' and fun show; and the ending definitely reflects the feel of the show in such a great way. GKND seems like an interesting idea and hopefully one day it can be greenlit :)
@@dark_hood7 Recently, GKND stuff has been re-appearing, so there's rumors that either the Network finally said yes or they managed to get someone else to greenlit the idea.
Fun fact: I never watched the final episode cause I never wanted that show to end. I was 9 years old watching this show, almost 20 years later, this show brings me to that comfortable space in my head that I used to be in when I was a kid. I need to see this episode now, and kinda wish I had done so when it originally aired
Same here but they did marathon the entire series leading up to the finale so I said screw it, why not. I remember really liking that final season quite a bit. They did a great job building up hype.
My favorite episode was when number one was trying to figure out what bras where for and he concluded that it was an acronym for battle ready armor 😂 I still call bras that to this day.
I forget almost all of this show but I'll never forget the episode where the school nurse or lunch lady was serving the kids a tasty dessert made of PINK-EYE-CRUST, harvested from infected kids. Like holy shit.
You just unlocked a repressed memory, that episode gave me a fucking phobia, never have I ever been so grossed out in my entire life. Didn't help that as a kid I thought it was 'realistic and plausible', made me pack my own damn lunches till the end of time. Fuxkibg eye crust. This show was 10/10.
I fucking stopped watching the show because that episode freaked me out so much. The fact that I could only it at other people's houses because we didn't have cartoon network back then helped a lot on that front.
I have such a special connection with this show because the concept of the GalacticKND had its own fandom on deviantart which I joined. There were people of all ages creating their own GKND characters, collaborating together, and writing/role-playing missions in honestly a super wholesome way. The more talented artists didn’t look down on those that were younger or just starting out and I’ve made a few lifelong friends through this fandom. Watching this video has really made me want to draw again. 🥺
@@nealmiller7849 when u sias that I thought it was in response to me saying something edgy. But no! You threw me off there, way 2 push society off its ledges
Growing up waiting for new episodes to come out and pretending to be part of the KND at recess was great. To me when I saw the ending it ended in such a way that it left me with my first memorable moment of realizing that I shouldn't be sad that it came to an end but happy for the fun journeys I got to experience.
I would pay good money for the complete series of Courage, Johnny Bravo, Dexters Laboratory, KND, the list goes on, I grew up watching these shows and I miss them so much, no one will ever be able to replicate the cartoons the 90’s and early 2000’s had, they are irreplaceable legends
I like how the ending said they were recommissioned by Father so he could learn what happened that day. Then it was implied that Number 2-5 were all still commissioned but as secret agents.
Can we take a minute and appreciate that the show started with Sector V getting a cake and it ending with them getting a cake (or related to cakes lmao)
@@Masterplayer1500 well I’m referring to the first official episode that aired since the episode you were referring to (aka titled “No P in Ool”) is more of a pitch in the Cartoon Cartoons shorts which I don’t count since it’s more of a short compared to the normal 20 minute runtime like most of the episodes are. (Excluding the final episode and the movie since it over exceeds that runtime since they are more of a special)
@@Masterplayer1500 but I would like to add is that if you mean the first anything KND related then that’s hard to say since although that episode was the first thing that was made to pitch to Cartoon Network (which got the show to be green lit) but there was another short called “Kenny and the chimp” which was also made by the same creator of the show (Tom Warburton) where the villain “Triple Extra Large” was in it and Kenny did mention his neighbors as “the group of rebellious kids” which are sector V so it really depends which way you want to look at it.
honestly creators should have an iron clad clause in their contracts that if an IP isnt used in say 5 years, then the rights revert to the original creator so many shows are stuck in limbo, teasing sequels that never came, or cancelled in the middle etc etc and so much could be done with them if they werent figuratively sitting in some company's vault gathering dust
That idea might cause more issues. As a studio you could game the contract by just rushing out a low effort reboot every five years (or mobile game/live action adaptation etc.), so now the creator gets to witness their IP become associated with crap, and the IP is still figuratively stuck in limbo.
@@bonbaun but even if its crap itd be something Opinions are as varied as people obviously but id rather something low effort that keeps the IP in the public consciousness than it get canceled for something dumb like not enough toy sales and then never seen again
Or you know when creators completely disgrace their own creations. This could lead to even worse limbo until a creator's death, basically the music industry right now.
For something like that you would need very thorough clauses to prevent company's intentionally kneecapping the i.p.'s value and possibly other media's value as well. Prey 2016 is a spiritual successor to System Shock and Bioshock with no relation to Prey. But the publisher needed to publish an entry in the series to retain the i.p. rights. This lead to Prey 2016 not reviewing as well as it should have and Prey still staying locked away.
I remember watching the series finale live. Finales are always hard. Saying goodbye to characters you've grown to love is always difficult. I agree that Warburton and the team did a great job in ending the series. Bringing in the entire rogues gallery of villains and even setting up for more in a potential sequel was truly a great way to end the series. Thank you for the nostalgia trip and I do hope we get a sequel. Hey Xiaolin kids ended up having sequels so anything is possible.
When hogy says to nigel he made him some techy stuff but its probably not going to compare to the advanced tech up in space and nigel says he is sure his will be needed aka implying he is the best at tech to show their trusy and bond I tear up every time...
To this day I remained convinced that the animated parts of operation Interviews were meant to be the pilot of GKND but when it was rejected they shot the live action stuff and made it into a finale movie
I really hope it gets remade. I may be an adult now but the way this show made me feel when I was a kid and even the nostalgia hit I got makes me want to see more from it even today.
For those who have never watched the show, every year, the delightful children from down the lane have a birthday with the biggest, most perfect, and delicious cake in existence. The catch is that they force all other kids to watch them eat it and don't share a single slice. Because of this the knd always destroys or steals their cake first.
This ending was the first time I had experienced a show that I followed and loved actually having a "series finale." Up until then for me, cartoon shows just abruptly had a last episode, never aired a new one, and I wouldn't know for a long time that they ended, usually until I internet-searched it. Majority being episodic shows, this was just the norm. But after excitedly getting wrapped up in the story arc in KND's last season, I vividly remember commercials going "prepare for the mission to end all missions" and felt this was WAY different than how I was used to shows ending, thinking: 'hold up, shows can just naturally conclude..... on purpose 🤯!?' It's one of the greatest wrap-ups to a show ever, and it was my first, so it always means a lot to me (still praying G:KND makes it into reality 🙏🏿). Incidentally, from then on I became way more hyper-aware of the difference between cancelations and series finales. Avatar: TLA happened to have a huge one later in that same year's summer 👀.
While I do think it's rather disappointing that the show ended without it's sequel being able to get off the ground, I also believe that it ending the way it did with it's future teased, but not shown in a sequel, does help to hammer home one of the shows biggest messages and themes. Keep that childlike wonder and imagination going strong, even into adulthood.
I'm still waiting and hoping for the GKND. I remember seeing that website with the hidden database and going on my school computer doing that. When I heard what was supposed to happen but didn't I felt betrayed because cartoon network can easily make a great show with this series... instead they focus on the other newer shows and they just refuse to do anything about it. It sucks because I am still hopeful for the GKND to happen on hbomax one day
I remember being there for the hype of the GKND. I was in a group of like 20 people watching that count down. When it it hit zero and the video was released. We were sad, but at the same time more determined than ever to show our support and hopefully one day get the show greenlit
I. I was there back in 2015 and I remember being so heartbroken that despite all the love for the Series Mr Warburton had for it and the near 69k of us who signed that petition wasn't enough to move CN; However, With all the shows that I've grown up with getting movies and new series (whether good or bad irregardless) it gives me extreme hope that we'll get to see g:KND in it's full Warburton-y goodness.
Out of all the summaries I've seen, clips and "Best Of"'s watched, none of them hit me like this one did. I didn't realize just how much this show impacted my late childhood, and your intermission snippets really caught me off guard. I had completely forgotten about them. I didn't have the best childhood, but watching shows like KND brought me joy, and it's a type of joy that I truly miss.
I used to see this show from time to time as a kid and though I don't remember the actual overall plot, this show always stuck in my head to this day with it's unique characters and aesthetic, this video makes me wanna go watch it in hopes that one day galactic kids next door can come back
I'm not sure if this would be up your alley, but I have weird nostalgia for memories of the show "Pucca" on Jetix, and would love to see you cover it at some point - I originally saw it as merchandise growing up, and then to see it on Jetix was a surreal experience and how it blended action, comedy, and romance into one show
Honestly, it's nice to recall this show, because while I remember absolutely loving it back in the day, the one ACTUAL memory of it I have is that there was an episode where Number 2 goes on an investigation to find out how some cake is made, and it turns out it's secret ingredient is eye boogers. It's just one of those memories that will probably live in my head rent-free for the rest of my life.
KND was one of the best shows cartoon network ever had, I loved the charets humor actions and drama that went into it, the last episode was a strange one and its such a shame the spin off never happened. I know there was teaser for it somewhere on the internet and while I’m a little worried that number one seems to be a villain, that easily could have been misleading or played for drama, like he appeared to be going with the Galactic KND plans but turns at the last second or something, but the only way we would have found out is if it was made but Cartoon Network in their infinite wisdom decided to not do that.
Also, the creator of the show actually has a Instagram page where he posted some concept art of some of the characters he wanted for the g knd series. This includes I think two of Nigels new supposed teammates
I was in LOVE with the Kids Next Door series as a kid. Genuinely made me proud to be a kid and never want to grow up. Man we truly were spoiled as kids with shows like this.
@@bnha From what I heard Cartoon network got fully acquired by warner bros, which also means cartoon network can't support and or make shows anymore, it is now completely under warner bros. jurisdiction. There's a really good chance that alot of cartoons are getting cancelled and discontinued, it's even worse when recently before that Warner bros nuked alot of cartoons out of their streaming platform, aka they do not exist anymore (I believe it is the same company and from what I heard off of twitter). But all in all the situation on cartoons in general is very dire, It also goes to show that cartoon network is really suffering from the decisions they been making these past few years.
What a coincidence that you made this video today! Just restarted watching KND after having not seen this show in over a decade. Was watching your Grim Adventures video a week or 2 ago and started watching that, KND, Ed Edd and Eddy, and Fosters Home after finding them all on HBO Max. My kids love them!
That finale had me back in the day. I was happy to hear that Numbuh 3 and 4, and 2 and 5 got married. I cheered when Numbuh 1 took the Delightful Children for good. And I was sad when Sector V did their last countdown.
I *LOVED* watching K.N.D with my older sister and some friends when we were younger. We use to love pretending to be operatives in the show when we played outside. And we were even sad when we were going to be “decommissioned” and thought we couldn’t be able to play anymore. Childhood used to be so wonderful 🥲
Watching this video and reminiscing about old cartoons dug up DEEP memories of Code Lyoko. Would love to see a break down of that Cartoon Network show as well! I had completely forgotten it’s existence until watching your channel.
I love this show , thank you for making this video. I really hope CN will come to their senses and revive this masterpiece. Obviously this show's writing is chef's kiss it's so deep and done perfectly I can see why it's hard to continue on from there.
I remember watching this episode and being so shocked, now so many years later, I'm still shocked, but nostalgic, as soon as I heard about the possibility of G:KND I wanted it, no matter when it comes out (cause I'm positive that it's gonna happen sooner or later) I'll watch it instantly
Would an interstellar setting work? Part of the charm of the series was seeing the mundane world kids lived in re-imagined as this unique battlegrounds between kids and their worst enemies. So in an intergalactic setting… it would be the same except lose that connection to the ordinary world. So it’s just a sci-fi adventure but with kids. Well written, I would assume, but would it carry the same magic to it?
I mean, it could be set on many different planets, all with technology on a level similiar to Earth's. So basically same old same old, but some people would have green skin or a third eye and they'd all have weirdly shaped buildings, because as we all know, sci-fi civilisations hate cubes for their ergonomy and simplicity.
Whenever people talk about media getting sequels or additional seasons this is exactly what I think about. Given what I understand to be the themes of the show, I really don't think it would have worked out. What would a galactic setting do to further the ideas explored in the show? When that show ends, does numbah 1 team get recruited for Universal Kids Next Door? A premise can only grow so far before it begins to undermine it's own foundations and a big challenge for creators and fans in to appreciate when you're approaching those limits. Better it ends well with bits of idea fodder the community can turn into fanworks than for it to get stretched out and lose the interest and care of it's audience.
At the end of the day, I don't believe any sequel or reboot is going to carry the same magic as the original. Even if they absolutely nail the production, the audience has grown up and changed. I think the series could still work. If they're focusing on a stop the G:KND story, then they could focus on some earth based stories that have some hints and teasers about an alien invasion. About midway through the season, the aliens take more direct attacks, with the KND fighting back. Meanwhile, most of the adults are completely oblivious or dismissive of the signs. If they focus on the G:KND, then they can tell a different kind of story. Maybe have a team on a spaceship that travels between different planets. Each week would give a different setting, secondary cast, and problem to solve. Meanwhile, we'd see the day to day life between the crew members.
First time discovering your channel, and this video made me so happy 🙂. I’ve been going on many nostalgia trips lately at 25, these shows have a special place in my heart.
I would love if GKND was about how growing up isn’t actually a bad thing as long as you remain a kid at heart. That all the things the KND stated about adulthood was just overblown bias from an extremist organization that saw getting old as a disease that needed to be cured or purged. Cause the show really did make it seem like adulthood was the worst parts of your life. And maybe in some ways that’s true and I get that’s the point seeing as it’s from a kids perspective but still looking back it feels like the next logical route to take the series especially since all the people who grew up with the show are adults now.
I remember watching the Villainous and KND crossover thing about a year ago and I loved how I can show the episode to my younger sister so she can enjoy a new show while getting to experience the old shows I used to watch, granted that crossover wasn’t the main point of the episode but it still had enough moments so that I can be content with my life
I love this show so much. When I heard about GKND in like 2015 I so desperately wanted to see it. When I rewatch the series every once in a while it just makes me want to see the continuation all that much more. Also, CGI father aside, he was actually one of my first cartoon crushes for some ungodly reason.
I owe it all to codename kids next door. I loved the series so much as a kid and it was a big comfort for me as I was going through elementary/middle school. I found my love for drawing through redrawing my favorite screencaps from the show and sticking them to my notebooks and file holders. I'm in my last year of college now and pursued multimedia arts. Maybe there's a chance that I would've started drawing regardless of whether I watched this show or not, but as it stands, KND is the reason I discovered I wanted to become a storyteller because this show was just show fantastic and inspired. I haven't stopped hoping to learn more about this universe if and when they finally greenlight GKND.
I’ve never seen this episode before now. I’ve always assumed that the last episode of KND was the episode involving Numbah 0. By far one of my favourites, and it just seemed so perfect.
If 275,000 views in two days on an somewhat popular/obscure UA-cam channel is any indication, this show definitely still has an interest in a fanbase that continues to grow. Gotta love it.
I always liked the tech they had. And the acronyms for those weapons. That and the blown out of proportion scenarios lol The bus that's like a massive train. Cafeteria food being gross and becoming sentient. I remember that musical episode they made with Grandma Stuffem. The were-dog episode. Ah memories.
Thank you for giving me something I didn’t know I truly needed. I can definitely say KND served as a major cornerstone of my childhood and influence to later pursue art. This format was 👌🏻✨ almost like BlameItOnJorge with his lost media content and a nostalgic deep dive. More please !
KND could have ended with the movie Operation Zero if they wanted to, but instead we got this great one hour special that set up a spinoff which we sadly won't ever get to see.
Love this show. So much nostalgia for me. It shaped the way I am now. KND had the missions on a terminal with sounds and the badass computer commands. The matrix had the green/black aesthetic. Now I'm a programmer. I write cool commands that make things happen. My text editor uses the same color scheme as in The Matrix. Usually the text editor cursor is skinny but I changed it so it takes up a whole character width just like in the KND terminals. When I sit down and type I feel empowered to let my imagination roll thanks to that work environment. I feel that anything is possible just like those kids building things and fighting evil. It's a really nice way to honor my childhood and the show.
Nostalgic. Brings back so many memories. KND was one of its kind. It was really enjoyable. I never knew that "Operation: Interview" was a finale at first. It was when I look up to the wiki, I was surprised. I never knew that there was going to be a sequel. Sad that CN didn't allow it. But the finale was just fitting. Thanks for refreshing our memories.
this is truly one of my favorite and most closely held series from my childhood. the wonderment, the idea that kids can be in charge of their own destiny, that parents can be the immature ones when they forget what its like to be a kid, not just that friends are important but why you should listen to them too. thanks for reminding me
This was one of my FAVORITE shows as a kid, EVER. I still remember how many times I rewatched the Battle of Hoth-style snowball fight, that was one of my favorite things ever put to animation.
I loved it and I loved the interview with the kids as adults and the confirmation at the end that Abby was never decommissioned. I think they did try to do Galactic Kids Next Door a few years ago but it went off the radar. Would be such a fun fantastic concept this show was so creative and perfectly intuned to the childish imagination but it also got meaningful and intense towards the end, plus it always has this serious attention to sense of duty, commitment to a cause and those who can't help themselves, and respect for veterans of their group and lost heroes. Just some grade A family entertainment
KND was one of those shows/stories that shaped my way of viewing growing up and imaginative. Even though I don't remember everything, I remember the good times of this weird show... I really hope the author can do something one day.
I used to get sick all the time as a toddler, I remember having half my face looking like it was melting off from an allergic reaction. Long story short I watched this and teen titans religiously through the 20$ a week cable tv they offered on the hospital. From then on anything KND/TT related caught my attention down to the fusion fall game and the teen titans GameCube game. (Which sadly was revived but because of the controversy with the club penguin revival project a lot of those got shut down do to fake controversies including the fusion fall universe/ retro project.)
Kids Next Door was one of my favorite series as a child, I dreamed of having friends like Numbuh One had and hoped there would be other children who wanted to form a secret organization like presented in the show (but never happened unfortunately). I am not certain how I feel of the show being greenlit now, but if fans want the show I support the idea.
On the website if you put in "Adults," it says "Dangerous Disease" and when you enter "Number One," it says "Trial Pending..." Very odd times indeed. What did number one do to be on trial by the Galactic KND? You can also check on other members like number 11 being captured.
Even if it's been about 7 years since the GKND animatic was shown, I still have hopes for the sequel. It might be possible. All we have to do is... "keep moving forward".
Wow, I had no idea about all of that after the final episode. I always wanted to know about the GKND but they never did anything with it. I hope the GKND someday becomes a thing even if it’s a UA-cam show. It’s also cool how Mr Warburton commented on this video!
Codename: Kids Next Door was one of my favorite shows growing up. I really hope that Galactic: Kids Next Door comes to life so a new generation can enjoy a similar show.
This was one of my top favorite cartoons as a kid lol, I fell in love with the concept alone. I remember I even started a lil real life KND in my neighborhood and at my school, I ofc named myself as Numbah 1 😅😂
I finished KND a few weeks ago and it became my 2nd favorite show of all time now. To me, it was absolutely perfect... It will always hold a special place in my heart...
Attention Numbuh Fringe!

One of the major reasons CN didnt greenlit it was cause of the change of CEOs and the massive restructuring over the years. It was caught in the black hole like so many shows at the time and was just another victim to the decade change.
And Cartoon Network president was making bad decisions.
don't forget the whole "children first" thing. It sparked some controversy that the show depicted kids violently rebelling against adults, even though it was technically only "evil" adults
In other words Cartoon Network sucks now and has not been the same since the logo change in 2010.
Was he also responsible for the live action crud ?

I always interpreted Numbuh 1 joining the Galactic KND as him and his family moving away from home and leaving all his friends behind. That’s one thing I’ve always loved about this show even as an adult, how it isn’t just a mindless kids show. You can watch it from an adult’s perspective and still enjoy it because it’s a bunch of kids using their imaginations to run rampant and have the time of their lives, all while the adults in the show play along.
Damn that would make sense for how they all become slightly estranged in ways

Oh without question.. what an ending.. what a cliffhanger for real.
@@mr_indie_fan it’s been over a decade since the show ended. They’ll never make it, especially since everyone who watched it as a kid is an adult now.
:) ❤️
I wouldn't say so. Tbh, the way they act in those interviews is pretty... sad. Especially Number 3, it feels like she lost almost all of her personality after growing up
“At the age of 15” KND operatives are decommissioned on their 13th birthdays. The only exceptions are those who go undercover with the secretive TND to keep tabs on adults and other teenagers.
Do the teenagers get decommissioned? From teenager organizations
@@killersannin5459 Well, the teens worked a lot with the adults against the KND so there would be no reason to decommission them.
God i forgot how much lore and world building there was in this series
I forgot about this fantasy I wished for.. and seeing that picture reminded me of those cherished memories I had, but it also reminded me of the sad truth that it's all gonna end some day.. damn
Damn bruh I didn't expect sun so deep here lol but I feel you man..

Oh no, Cartoon network isn't about creativity. Let the network Die. It isn't what it once was!
I still think the weirdest part of the ending (and the biggest injustice considering the following KND had, was that it was only ever officially aired once. Only ONCE. That just is insane to me
Naw it makes sense. Cant be an ending if its never aired it lives on
That can’t be. I definitely remember seeing it a few times
Nah it aired once and then the next Friday after that and the next couple weeks and maybe years spaced out after that...then youtube came along and nothing really ever aired "just once" again
What more insane is how dispite not having cable as a kid I recall this episode meaning it was one of the few KND episodes I was at granny's
What? No. Here in Mexico it aired multiple times. We had week-long specials with the episodes of that day repeating a couple of times everyday. If you missed one in the morning, you saw it after school. At least that's how I saw the last one.

The first episode wasn't them trying to get into the adult pool?
@@Masterplayer1500 one has 2 episodes in one half hour I’m pretty sure so it had both one after the other it was Operation CAKE and No P in the OOl
@@Masterplayer1500 but I would like to add is that if you mean the first anything KND related then that’s hard to say since although that episode was the first thing that was made to pitch to Cartoon Network (which got the show to be green lit) but there was another short called “Kenny and the chimp” which was also made by the same creator of the show (Tom Warburton) where the villain “Triple Extra Large” was in it and Kenny did mention his neighbors as “the group of rebellious kids” which are sector V so it really depends which way you want to look at it.
honestly creators should have an iron clad clause in their contracts that if an IP isnt used in say 5 years, then the rights revert to the original creator
so many shows are stuck in limbo, teasing sequels that never came, or cancelled in the middle etc etc
and so much could be done with them if they werent figuratively sitting in some company's vault gathering dust
That idea might cause more issues. As a studio you could game the contract by just rushing out a low effort reboot every five years (or mobile game/live action adaptation etc.), so now the creator gets to witness their IP become associated with crap, and the IP is still figuratively stuck in limbo.
@@bonbaun but even if its crap itd be something
Opinions are as varied as people obviously but id rather something low effort that keeps the IP in the public consciousness than it get canceled for something dumb like not enough toy sales and then never seen again

What’s the page
@@FFAMINE748 I believe it’s @lunch_at_warburtonlabs. The photos are a few years old but they did involve the galactic knd
Watching this episode back then was INSANE. Anyway, I really hope we do actually get the galactic kids next door show the creator wants.
I was in LOVE with the Kids Next Door series as a kid. Genuinely made me proud to be a kid and never want to grow up. Man we truly were spoiled as kids with shows like this.
I loved the point where Wallie was like "You mind hugging your own wife instead of mine?"
it's insane how CN didn't want to make GKND a reality even after so many people wanting it
You probably understand now if you been keeping an eye on what the fuck has been happening to it lately.
@@GamerGod353 i havent kept up for years lol, can i ask whats been happening to it??
My kids love them!
i legit feel like crying...... this show was my childhood... so so so many good memories
One tiny tiny detail that I love with the goodbye is numbuh 1 thanking numbuh 5 for recruiting him or something like that.
Used to wake up around 4:30 in the morning during my childhood days to catch up with CN:KND and still it's one of my favorite shows.
I think so
I feel like the interstellar setting could work maybe as a metaphor for when a friend moves to a different town and it feels like your “worlds” apart
Cope
naw growing up is definitely that bad
@@user-vx3wc8yc9v Staying a kid forever is a special kind of Hell.
Omg its one of them! ( finger gun crazy string activate!!)

I remember watching the Villainous and KND crossover thing about a year ago and I loved how I can show the episode to my younger sister so she can enjoy a new show while getting to experience the old shows I used to watch, granted that crossover wasn’t the main point of the episode but it still had enough moments so that I can be content with my life
My heart is breaking thinking about how magical this show used to feel
Oddly (or shockingly) enough, this show in particular had been on my mind a lot recently. I can only hope there is more to come!
Watching Sector V saying their good-byes will always bring a tear to my eye.
I remember being a kid watching the 1st episode debut and all the hype around it. It was also kool seeing the art evolve as the seasons went on.

Having not seen the end of kidsnextdoor this was a real tear jerker 😩😩😩😭😭😭
I always liked the tech they had. And the acronyms for those weapons. That and the blown out of proportion scenarios lol
The bus that's like a massive train.
I never saw this episode as a kid, but glad to see Numbuh 3 & 4 finally got together, I always likes them together in the show.
Ha i did the same with neighborhood kids in my area growing up. And i begged to be nunber 1 each time
such an amazing show!! KND was epic!!! So much creativity that it basically remains unrivaled
This was a tear jerker for me, the simple message at the end to stay young got me.
The "commercial break" scenes are amazing. It brings back that old feeling of being excited your show was coming back on.
Wow, I had no idea about all of that after the final episode. I always wanted to know about the GKND but they never did anything with it. I hope the GKND someday becomes a thing even if it’s a UA-cam show. It’s also cool how Mr Warburton commented on this video!
hopefully this will help bring traction, thank you for covering this dude
Thanks so much for watching!
