It's helped me to try and realize that the guy is only human!!! He's not perfect. He's just a person like me not something to idolize over. He has feelings too and he's not looking for someone perfect. So I try to just be myself and not worry so much about how I look
Eat their ass for breakfast and all those awkward feelings just melt away. That is what I have found and it works quite well about 90% of the time.
Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about "how can i overcome my nervousness and shyness?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Beyophia Unimaginable Blaster - (do a search on google ) ? It is a smashing one off guide for discovering how to say goodbye to your shyness and anxiety without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got excellent results with it.

I used to be very akward around my crush but it really helps to just calm yourself down lol. Don't focus so much on acting a certain way around them so you can please them, just be comfortable being yourself, and even if they dont like you, thats ok. It takes a lot of pressure off of you when you're around them.

This has literally given me so much relief! I just got asked out to the prom by a guy, and I’ve never dated, or even really talked to guys, and talking to him feels so awkward. Knowing he’s likely not judging my every move, and that even though he seems really calm and collected, he’s likely experiencing the same emotions I am is such a huge relief and feeling of peace! Thank you for this. You have no idea how much I appreciate it!

Since I wrote this comment, I’ve been able to talk to him more frequently, and while I still am pretty awkward (that’s just kinda me as I don’t talk to people very much to begin with), I’ve been able to get more comfortable with him, and we’ve had a couple nice conversations. I’ll share how prom went in a week :)

Thank you so much for this video. Talking to the opposite sex is definitely awkward especially if there very attractive. I think sometimes married people can make it awkward at times and it puts pressure on single people. I've learned to be myself and really pray how to go about it. Not every person you meet is the one and we have to learn to be brothers/sister's in Christ and not let the pressure get to us.

My boyfriend and I messaged back and forth for months before we met in person at biblschool overseas. It was a bit awkward since I felt like I already knew him, but there was still that aspect of not knowing him in person. Just keep talking and get to know them. It'll get less awkward

Well, I am no Taylor Swift when it comes to guys🤣 BUT... I would give two tips that have helped me go from being super nervous talking to guys to the point that I wouldn't even look at them to actually being able to have great conversations with them.
1- Practice! Be bold and actually get yourself out there talking to guys. Not with the intention of flirting or getting a date but just putting yourself in that position. That way you'll be able to gain more confidence in yourself and be less scared.
2- Even if you like the guy, go into the conversation with a friendly perspective. Don't go in with the perspective "I like this guy and I want him to like me back". Enter the conversation with the perspective of gaining another friend. Talk to him like you're trying to befriend him, not date him. I think that helps ALOT. It helped me be able to not be so nervous and I even tried imagining that I was talking to my best friend. It just made the tension less.
Number two is gold, honestly. There's so much pressure when your intentions are to get him to like you back, or something. just go for friendship. Thanks for this advice!

I don't talk to guys... Unless they talk to me. And then I try to not be shy and tell myself, he is just a brother in christ, he doesn't judge you and you are perfect as you are. And then I can talk good (still I don't talk much but yeah) without being afraid.

The confidence one is the big one in this list. In my opinion, it cancels out #3, the need to admit shyness/awkwardness. I personally feel like it'd be better to not call attention to the awkwardness by admitting it in conversation. Focus on the confidence instead. Confidence in who you are in Christ, who you are as a person, and also confidence that the person you're interested in is Godly and has several qualities you know you want in a spouse. Seeing that in someone would tell me that they are someone I can consider pursuing more to get to know them better. :)

Hi P&M! I’m a naturally awkward person in almost any situation and I have found at least for me, that it helps if I use the nervousness as an ice breaker/to make things funny because we al know laughter is the best medicine.

I am very guarded and I don’t always present who I really am around people, I present the guarded version of myself and I shy away. Part of me feels like, I’m familiar places like work or school, if I’ve presented myself in a certain way then that’s who I have to be going forward, like it will be awkward and sudden to be something else. And this is why it’s good to write things out because that is a trick and lie from the enemy! There’s always room for growth and change! UGH I hate being duped.

I have three sisters and they all said different things regarding me and my awkwardness
Sister 1: “React differently, get out of your head, relax your shoulders”
Sister 2: “You have a lot to offer”
Sister 3: “Pray, ask God to reveal in you what he want you to change, if there’s something you feel you need to do (in a healthy, Godly way of course) to feel better and more confident then do it. Tell God you’re ready to date.
Believe it or not, being older, a lot older doesn't mean you've conquered the awkwardness,,far from it. I think it's even worse today because of the "perfect" standard that's so prevalent today especially regarding the way you look. It's really hard not to feel self conscious about yourself when women your age are able to maintain well, everything and you're basically just winging it,,,
Girls 'function' better when they are confident in themselves! like morgan says @ 7.25 -> Confidence in God -> confidence in yourself -> confidence in guys. (Esp when God simply comes first in their life!) :)

to be honest, i just wanna hang out with guys. i grew up around only boys cuz of my family, but as i got more “girly” (?) i kinda lost that touch. I just dont want to be awkward around them without looking like a total pick me girl or just looking like im desperate for a bf or even that i have a crush on someone. i genuinely just want to hang out with some guys. is that too much to ask for?

I relate to this video so much! I have learned to embrace my awkwardness and just go for it sometimes, and I feel like this applies to everyone. Meeting new people can be awkward too, but I’ve found that just going for it really breaks the ice and makes the other person feel more comfortable. 😊 I completely agree with Morgan as well! Ultimate Buffy Fan I would say just be approachable, good-natured and most importantly, a woman after God’s own heart. Our physical appearance is something we’re often self conscious about and it’s something we can take steps to improve, but at the end of the day, your confidence shouldn’t come from your physical appearance but from the grace God has given you and I. I know that’s easier said than done, but I hope this helped.
Know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that what other people think about your body is a reflection of THEIR heart and nothing to do with you. You are not more valuable if you take up less space :)
Make sure you're healthy and learn to love your body for all its amazing functions. Learn about cells and the immune system etc. and it really makes you appreciate your body regardless of what you may find wrong with it in its appearance(which can sometimes be caused by our own poor lifestyle choices). 💪❤️

I never thought I would get to this point lol. I ended up developing a panic disorder recently which has caused me social anxiety . And it’s been a while since I’ve hung out with a guy and there’s a guy I like and he really wants to hang but I’m scared I’m going to act weird or my anxiety is going to show 🥲
Anxiety is just a feeling in response to stress. Acknowledge it as a feeling. Don't be scared of it or try to push it back. Just let it be and it will go away 💜

Well what if a guy you don’t like always slurs you if you loose your train of thought or say something stupid or I guess off of the wall. To make you feel small? It’s always in a group and very embarrassing. I have confidence in myself if a guy don’t like me. it really makes me mad when I don’t feel comfortable in a group because he is always analyzing anything I say especially if a have an opinion on something. I am so awkward but I come of as sarcastic sometimes or really awkward you never know what it will be☺️ advice for an awkward girl who is sick of people throwing shade on who she is!

I didn't realize that at first either. I thought this video was just going to be about how to flirt properly, not a religious discussion. I don't think this is the right video for me to learn from. I am a Christian, but only to a certain degree. Also, since I have autism and a lot of flirting failures with guys in the past; since I have trouble with being subtle, I don't think embracing the awkwardness is good advice for me. But, I do agree with the fact that it's not the end of the world if you get rejected even though it hurts at the time when it happens and it's a good idea to move on after that. Although, it's challenging sometimes.

i don't see why women would need this advice, why do women need this advice when women don't have to be the ones to approach guys or be the ones to build the attraction during an interaction, conversation, etc.
