Which ship do you prefer for mining: the Python or the Type 8? Share your reasons in the comments!

Neither, they both suck at it compared to the Krait MkII.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The Krait MkII definitely has its strengths, especially when it comes to versatility and firepower. What do you think makes it out so much compared to the Type 8 and Python? I'd love to hear more about your experiences!

I need to pick one of these up for access to medium pads. Currently out surface mining with my Corvette mining rig. In the past I've used the krait.

Good call! The Type-8 is a solid choice for medium pad access, especially if you're used to larger ships like the Corvette. It won’t quite match the Krait's agility, but it makes up for it with solid cargo space and versatility. Perfect for surface mining setups! Let me know how it handles for you once you pick one up. 😃

Loved my Python with like 292 tonnes of workable cargo space for mining (if I remember correctly, been a while). But it was like pushing a marshmallow through a straw It was sluggish the opposite of nimble. The Type 8 is ideally agile. Has 256 tonnes of working space for mining. But I really do not like those 2 pillars on the side blocking the view. I keep hitting the rocks. I actually went and bought a Krait MKII specifically because it doesn't have that impeded view. I know the cargo capacity is a little lower. But those pillars were driving me nuts.

Ah, the Python-a mining workhorse, but yeah, it handles like a drunk marshmallow! The Type-8 does step up in agility, but those side pillars are the bane of every miner's existence. It’s like trying to mine with blinders on! The Krait MkII is such a great upgrade, though-fantastic visibility, solid versatility, and still enough cargo for a good haul. Sometimes less storage is a small price to pay for keeping your sanity (and avoiding asteroid kisses). Great choice!

This will need some engineering, at least that power distro to handle all those beams

Absolutely! The Type 8 will definitely benefits from some engineering, especially with the power distribution. Upgrading that power distributor can really help manage the energy demands of multiple beam lasers.

Deep core mining and extraction, with lasers and ablation for surface deposits.

Is this also for console or strictly pc? I know they stopped supporting consoles some time ago but wasn't sure if that was just for fps stuff.

Great question! It seems that since Odyssey, updates for consoles have been canceled. It's a bummer for console players, but hopefully, there will be more clarity from the developers in the future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

@@SWIFTO_SCYTHE Thanks for the update! It’s always exciting to see new developments in the gaming world. The Explorer ship Mandalay sounds intriguing, and I can’t wait to see what PowerPoint 2.0 brings to the table. What features are you most looking forward to?
