Man I'd like to pick your brain .. I just bought a 900 and absolutely cannot figure this thing out. I hinted 20 yrs ago with the old Tesoro, so this is indeed a much different animal.
(the stoopid AI tried to answer this 😝) Ask all ya want. I've used the Silver Sabre, Bandido2, Tehon etc. 1st I need to know where and what you are detecting for so I can match the answer to that. Equinox 900 is very easy to use.
@johnnyhiett I live in chickamauga GA. I have some great places to hunt around here, of course this area is pretty rugged and unfortunately time and people have created lots of trash
@@Rev.Reacharound OK. I know the area. If you're in the woods in topsoil it'll go deeper than in that red clay. 2 different settings. Hello, I have a question for you. I work at sea. I'm in an area with iron dust. Stones and iron filings cause a lot of interference. Can you share the most correct settings for me? Ground balance - Volume adjust - Threshold level- Target tone- Accept reject - Recovery speed - Fe - Sensitivity level --
Welcome. 😃 I will assume you are in the sea water. Target Tone=dp. GB = Auto. Volume = what you can hear; each brand of heaphones are different. Threshold = 0 silent. For other settings I need to know what type of metal you are looking for. Iron, like cannon balls? Non ferrous, like gold, brass, copper and silver. Also what size coil do you want to use?
Followup 2, I haven't heard an answer to my question, so I will assume you want non ferrous finds (no iron objects). Assume 11" coil I prefer the 6" coil. - Beach 2 mode under sea water. Try Beach 1 to test but it goes deeper on iron. - Reject all below 1 -Recovery Speed 4 or 5...then adjust when you test - Fe 9 to help reject iron - Sensitivity 22 unless you want to dig deep for maximum depth 28 - Noise Cancel. Run the auto noise cancel. Then manually adjust it up and down to see what goes deepest on a test target.
@@johnnyhiett Thank you for your answer. I search the sea and look for valuable items such as rings, earrings and necklaces that people have dropped. I have both 6 and 11 inch heads. Should the horseshoe remain open or closed? In addition, there is iron dust in some parts of the region, and problems occur with the device in areas where there is iron dust.
The Horseshoe button turns ON and OFF the All Metal Mode. If All Metal Mode is ON, iron objects ID= 0 to -19 will make a low tone. If OFF, no low tone sound will be made. So in your case use All Metal Mode set to OFF. Use the 6" coil. Good luck. 🍀

The best choice is use a 6" coil. That way there is less iron under the coil.
