I too had previously been using an iPhone since 2012 and just last year (2023) I switched to a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I do not in the slightest way, shape, or form regret my decision. This was easily the best choice from a tech perspective I have ever made in my life as my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra blows every iPhone out of the water effortlessly.
As a Samsung user for over a decade I actually tried the IPhone 15 Pro and to me, it was such a restrictive, archaic experience changing settings and ALL the extra maneuvering to do the simplest of things the iPhone only made is less than THREE days before I said to myself "FU@K THIS" and GLADLY went back to my Samsung! You cannot customize next to NOTHING on an iPhone and it just "looks" like everyone else's phone, which is way to BLAH for me! At least with Samsung and the GoodLock suite, you can customize every aspect of the phone. My Samsung is totally tricked out using swipe gestures, and my home screens are all unique. IMO, Apple is just SO lacking and back-asswards I can't use it! It's too simpleton and blah for my needs. I LIKE customization, tweaking of every aspect!
@@johnszatkowski6898 I definitely understand what you're saying. I felt the same way when I was younger. As I got older being on my phone got less important. I like that the iPhone is simple and straightforward, but it gets the job done
@@maddetox Oh, I totally get that "simple" experience, but I prefer more and LOVE the customization Samsung flagships phones offer. If you detected hate or anger then I apologize as I only state my opinion.
@PAVEL-JAKL I wanted the s25u but the rounded screen isn't for me. The s24u hard edges create a mini TV experience. I like it much more compared to my s21u which is more curved. To each their own but s24u will be cheap next year and it has 7 years of updates.
@PAVEL-JAKL I was thinking the same, but the s26ultra might be the best choice to upgrade from the S23ultra , but let's see how the upcoming s25 ultra will be like.
Apple doesn't lie on specs so they tell you final wattage rate, whereas other manufacturers tell you wattage consumed out of the wall in spite of much of that wattage being wasted to heat and other inefficiencies of physics. "ONLY" 27 watts wired, not sure why you use the word "only" as it's currently best in class for final wattage on a premier flagship. And no I'm not talking about Chinese phones that use irresponsible high wattage that kills battery longevity and has safety hazards.
I bought S24 Ultra and it came with a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. And I still have my iphone 14pro max. I use the S24 ultra more. Iphone is smoother, but Samsung just gives more and I'm enjoying the features it can give. The iPhone 16 pro max or me is not that worth it, not AI shipped with the phone, I tried IOS 18, I always am part of the developer's data testers, and I don't like it. The camera button is worthless or me, I have a fujifilm, but the zoom for samsung is what I need for concerts. Love the spen! The AI gimmicks, the translate, and the multitasking!

@@mkjbawi9308 When uploading a reel on Instagram from a flagship iPhone versus a flagship Samsung phone, the iPhone generally results in better-quality uploads. This difference is due to Instagram's optimization for iOS devices. Instagram compresses videos differently for Android users, often leading to slightly lower-quality uploads, while the app is better optimized for iPhone uploads, maintaining higher clarity and resolution. Both devices capture excellent footage, but Instagram's internal processing tends to favor iPhone videos, leading to better overall quality when viewed on the platform. This is not related to the internet speed but rather Instagram's app optimization and compression algorithms.

Reading that brought a smile on my face 😊 as I was watching from the same phone. To be honest thats the best note plus/ultra design - slim, edgy but still kinda rounded edges, good display, no hassle at all, Spen, still quite fast and with great battery life. Swapped from iPhone 12 Pro Max to s24 ultra and no regrets here. The final straw that made me swap was using iTunes to handle my music and it was such a pain in the ass. With the s24, I can connect it to the PC and it handles exactly like a usb drive, simple drag and drop. I can even download music directly from the s24 and not even have to use my PC.
My 14 Pro Max got left on the dashboard of my car with only a little of its side exposed. I went on with my work and remembered I left it in the car. Went back to pick it up circa 2 hours later, it overheated and gave me a temperature warning I didn't ever get before. Instead of shutting it off and letting it cool in the shade of a room, I left it in the car boot for a couple of hours and picked it up in the afternoon. It came back to safe operating temperature. Fast forward to the day after: alarm works as intended, I got up, browse the smartphone a bit. As I was watching UA-cam shorts, the display flashed a few times and it turned green. When it flipped the smartphone and took a look a the camera module I could see condensation on the inside and I understood that the smartphone was dying. So yeah, the very best smartphone of 2022 overheated, built condensation inside, couldn't dry safely and died. Not to mention the permanent micro-stuttering on every UA-cam video at any quality every tenths of seconds. Also, I was video chatting with a friend on Messenger and completing my duolingo lesson and the phone decided to switch off my video call to an audio-only call due to the phone running out of memory. I await the 17 Pro Max with at least 12 Gb of RAM, because I presume that the main selling point of the 17 series will be the actual multi-tasking and maybe a partnership with Sony to bring PlayStation ports to iOS playable at 60 FPS.

just think it 1000 times. if you just want basic functionalities, android offers a lot of that in less money. spending more than 1000USD in a basic phone seems like, you know, a psychological problem?
As a new S24 Ultra user, It's a very practical phone, it's useful for work and photography and there are some great stylus features you haven't mentioned like the air control and camera capture. The only 2 things i didn't like is the speaker position, this is a painful fact for mobile gamers that they can't enjoy the sound perfectly because the speaker will be completely clogged by the right hand while you holding the phone horizontally. The second thing is battery life, it's good but when i pay this amount of money it's normal to expect a better battery than my previously phones (the older one was Asus zenfon 9 and the last one was realme 12 pro plus and both was giving a longer battery life which is absolutely amazing)

I think experience cannot be expressed with specs. As a long time time Android user, I switched to iPhone. The only pain I experienced was data transfer. The categories you left out are the ones that make an iPhone stand out: 1) Superior backup and sync, 2) seamless Continuity and settings l between devices is a significant workflows, 3)Apple's app quality is way up there compared to Android counterparts, 4) Superior interoperability between apps, 5) Shortcuts app adds functionality like a significant software update would (Samsung's routines app is a joke compared to shortcuts), and 6) hardware durability (Apple hardware lasts longer and is more reliable). Always take these comparison videos with a grain of sand. Best and more honest approach is to review each phone individually, and focus of the qualitative aspects more (experience using it). Reviews such as that of Jeremy Clarkson reviewing a car from an experience than a zero-sum compare/contrast ale always more elways.more educational.

For a distinct minority of users who actually USE the S-Pen more than once a month just to validate they have it, you're right. For other users it's just a gimmick that gives them a sense of glowing pride. The actual superiority of the S24 is the 2600 nits and anti-reflective screen. For outdoor use it's a clear win. For indoor use and ecosystemic integration with other devices, it's a clear Apple win. So there is no real winner, it depends on what you use, how often, where you use it, and even what other devices you have.
Just switched from S23 Ultra to iPhone 16 Pro Max and I’m so happy I did. The S23U is a great phone but it got annoying in the end. iPhone is way smoother to operate due to iOS and higher build quality. FaceID is far superior to the scanner also. I was very annoyed with the green color peeling of the sides of the Samsung even that it was always in a case and never dropped. Really shitty for a flagship device. It started peeling around the S-pen hole and grew bigger and then on the sides. The rattling sound from the camera OIS was also a quality issue that annoyed me. Great phone none the less but I like iOS more and probably never will return to android.
I used to customize and play with the S-pen the first days and weeks. After that I didn’t bother. The iPhone wins easily in daily operation smoothness. For me , iPhone is best at what you do the most with the phone

There is a reason why banks and other extremely high security places have 3D fingerprint scanners at the door. Some have both the fingerprint and face scanners at the same time, but the ones that have just one, its always the fingerprint scanner. So yes the samsung ultrasonic is the most secure biometric system we can have on phones. And I would argue that it is also the most practical since I can easily unlock the phone without having to look at it straight on, like when it is on a table next to me, or in my car, or in my bed side table (i unlock it and activate my alarm without getting up and without lifting the phone off the table, or even while I am taking it out of my pocket, I am already scanning my fingerprint and when I look at it it is already unlocked. Iphone requires you to be looking straight at it and I absolutely hate that.
I stick to the iPhone, but if you are going to jump from iPhone to Samsung, then you jump to the Samsung S25 Ultra and not the S24 Ultra. Not long until the S25 Ultra comes out (Feb 25).

This is really a mater of personal preference and whether you want to live in a completely closed ECO system whose products are VERY expensive! Apple also LACKS true home screen customization, clunky interface, and changing settings is quite a cumbersome task. Having to spend HOURS converting all your personal music to Itunes - NO THANKS! I tried using the Iphone 15 Pro max and in just a few days had to get rid of it in favor of Samsung and the OPEN Android platform. Apple has MANY tracking features that CANNOT be disabled, where Android allows turning OFF MANY tracking features and prefer the better battery life and NOT having Apple slown my phone down after a few years and degrading the battery via. software not to mention the UNGODLY repair costs that can ONLY be done at an Apple store. Again, all a mater of preference and I chose greater freedom and customization and strictly my opinion.
@@johnszatkowski6898 "VERY expensive"? For 256 GB, the S24 Ultra is $1299 and the iPhone 16 Pro Max is $1199. The S24 Ultra is literally more expensive for every storage option, 256, 512, and 1 TB. And, everything else you said is literally the opposite of the truth.

Another mistake is that the iPhone can do 45 Watt, which is false as many sources pointed out that the iPhone does only charge at 27 Watts wired.
@@mkjbawi9308 When uploading a reel on Instagram from a flagship iPhone versus a flagship Samsung phone, the iPhone generally results in better-quality uploads. This difference is due to Instagram's optimization for iOS devices.

I've jumped from Pixel 8 pro to iPhone 15 pm since jan of this year. I'm starting to look back at Galaxy Ultra phones or maybe another pixel for the pixel's voice typing capabilities because of Apple's lack of good voice transcription/ voice typing and other features. The call assist on the pixel is great to have as well, but I don't Google crappy tensor chips. The iPhone and iOS have worked incredibly well and smoothly, but they ajust don't have many features I want, and almost no AI features to speak of...... it works great but is getting stale. I have been eyeing the s25 U possibly. I will lose the ecosystem integration, amazing face ID, and the easier day to day interaction with a lot of my family since many have iPhone. But I'm getting bored !
Should I switch from iOS to Android after 3 years?
Now I got 13 Pro and I’m waiting March 2025. (expiring contract) for bying new phone. I’m considering to buy S25 Ultra when it comes because iOS is so boring to me from the last 3 years. I love its simple way to use everything, it’s priced more after couple of years but it is boring.
I don’t know am I ready for that transfer in my head, is here anybody who done that this year after many years using iOS?
I think the S25 is going to be very good. The main things to consider is do you have the Apple Watch & other Apple stuff? Also how important is Airdrop to you?

One thing apple has that Samsung doesn’t… a smaller sized phone (iPhone 16 pro) with flagship specs. The s24 ultra is great but it’s a brick. The ip16 is much easier to hold and that’s why I prefer it. Let’s be honest, both phones will do everything we want, don’t need a geekbench score to tell me that I can open so many tabs in chrome, and the os aren’t far apart.. it’s personal choice at this point
Besides the specs numbers, in your display comparison the iPhone screen looks a bit brighter tho 🤔

Peak brightness is often measured in HDR video with automatic brightness. When it comes to manual brightness, the iPhone is brighter when you set it manually or auto when not in HDR.
Hope that helps :)

❤s24 ultra can't wait to see when the s25 ultra claps back. But for a phone that 9 months old it still holds it's own, hell the s23 ultra still can stand it's ground against the 16 pro max😅
In efficency, the iPhone wins. In CPU performance, iPhone wins. In GPU performance, Snapdragon is likely to blow A18 Pro out the water (currently is about equal when heat isn't a problem). Within apps, the iPhone camera blows Android phones out the water because it's more deeply integrated. With the camera itself, iPhone's take pictures faster and have more consistent image outcome. Samsung is better when it comes to zoom and certain images. The iPhone takes the best videos. The ceramic shield focuses on drop protection, Gorilla Glass focuses on scratch resistance. Samsung has more superfluous features and will likely to continue when Apple Intelligence comes out and S25 Ultra releases.
The weaknesses of each device is likely to be the same when it the S25 Ultra is released. The true difference will be battery life. There truly isn't much innovation these days unless you take note of the smallest improvements.
@@dylreesYT in File Manager system Galaxy wins. In cross platform files sharing Galaxy wins. In system wide back button Galaxy wins. In overall user friendly software Galaxy wins.

I switched from my Samsung ultra to an iPhone 16. I’m amazed at how much Samsung have copied Apple, which is handy. However with iOS I get way deeper integrated personalisation. 23:38 - the ultrasonic scanner is much more secure. It uses ultrasound waves to read your fingerprint in a 3D way and measures all the microscopic ridges on your fingers. Optical scanners (OnePlus, Xiaomi etc) just grab a 2D photo of your fingerprint, not very zecure. And Apple's FaceID, while very secure, is still not as secure as an ultra detailed 3D representation of your unique fingerprint.
