Acrylic pouring Medium: Fluid art
My home made pouring medium used for my usual work is a pre mix of 70% clear craft glue and 30% warm water, if in the USA Elmer’s glue all works well (most pva glues can be made up with same ratios to make a pouring medium), I add my pouring medium to my paint slowly until I achieve the consistency of pouring cream, approximately 50/50 more pm if needed, not all paint brands go well with this pouring medium, so just test out.
paint brands mostly used are the Global impasto paints, Amsterdam paints, pebeo paints, also Mont marte studio acrylics, or pouring paints.
I Certainly explore different brands and mediums, it’s all part of the learning process.
Also iv started to add a tablespoon of floetrol to each paint cup and stir instead of silicone for cells.
“Cell Activation”
Extra special cell and lace and bloom like creation is found with Amsterdam paints add Aussie floetrol until correct consistency required, then used in pour or used to swipe details, “Aussie slides” are easily created this method.
If I add silicone this is what I do.
When iv mixed my paints I add 2-4 drops maximum of Helmar silicone, also Australian made, I stir in well.
I always like to mix up my paints and add silicone the day before I’m going to paint, and cover with a damp cloth, as I have found I have much better results.

As you say often, "WOWSERS TROUSERS!!!!" Sooooo gorgeous 😍
Love the colors and design
Beautifull painting very lovely colors combination 👏👏👏
I've seen other artists call a painting completed at your 6 minute mark and said to myself, "How are you going to finish it?" You carried this painting to completion in great form!
This is happy eye candy. Love the colors. It is elevated negative space.
I would like to see this technique using a funnel. Bravo!
Lovely painting.🥰👍 and you should absolutly do something with your funny sayings. I just love them and they are a big reason I keep following you. So please don't change that. 🙏😂🥰♥️
I am a novice, right now....and Gilly you give me hope with your "color ideas" that show me so many ideas to make the most of whatever I do try to create~you have shown this ole' gal, how to manipulate paints, and if not, then how to make them beautiful with imagination...Thanks hon, I appreciate you! 😊
Very pretty 😍 the colours are lovely together. I too watch & really like Olga Soby's paintings! She did a glow in the dark with florescent paints re the Northern Lights & its very cool 😊🤩 so maybe experiment with more florescent paints just an idea Gilly. Thank you for your inspiration 🥰
Another beautiful piece, I am so happy to hear that you and John are going to take a holiday, it is defiantly time for both of you to refresh you soul, mind and body.
Gilly this is beautiful. Blues and greens are my jam❤. I’m glad you are doing some Dutch pours. My next try.🤗
Absolutely gorrrrgeous Gilly! ❤️
Oh it’s a stunner Gilly, I’m glad you held back on the hairdryer. Gorgeous. 🥰🇦🇺
Gilly, it is another lovely piece. The colours you chose are just right. The skewer effects add movement to the work while the floral features float above the marble-like background. Let's see what you do tomorrow. I would like to see you do a reflection swipe then add the bubble rings (along with a few kisses - can't leave them out.) Cheers!
I really like the green you put down first. The other colors are just as amazing!
Absolutely gorgeous❤️
This is stunning Gilly. Just love the base colors with just a little pop in the blooms. Very very nice 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
A beautiful special painting..
Yes..we all need inspiration and new ideas sometimes..
Keeping it fun for us and exciting.love Olga..she's precious 💕
I've been enjoying the geode type pours n then adding the glass n embellishments..so pretty 🥰.. I love what you do
Hi gilly, a change of scenery will inspire you...
Can you do a sea with a beach .. a waterfall look... a cloud pour . A few ideas . 💡 love your music 🎶
Rest well gilly 💐 and your hubby.
Oh Gilly! I think this might be my new favorite! Stunning!!
Truly beautiful. I love it.
Love the background, colours, love it
I'm going to try this it's beautiful 😍
Love the background Love the blowout it's a beautiful piece of art
Absolutely stunning. I love the colours and the background. I am always amazed at your results.
Hi Gilly! I love to see you do colander pours and then spin them! They look just like flowers! Thanks for always cheering up my day!
Thank you so much!
So beautiful! Very soft and dreamy!
Once again, beautiful Gilly ❤
Another winner. Love the colors. Perfect.
I just love this piece ♥️😍 The marble background is beautiful and all the colors are smashing together. Lovely ♥️
That is so lovely especially with the beautiful base cover. When my husband is feeling a bit better I will have a go at this style of painting xxxxxxxxx
Love your personality and your work. It's so endearing when you get delighted and on the other side ticked off. Would love to see you try a landscape xx
Beautiful👍👏🙏🙋🏼♀️🇨🇭
Stunning Gilly
Gilly as you say wowzzers! Gorgeous 😍 .I hope John is doing better !! 🙏 Maybe a lift and drag with your palette knife! Your favorite colors of coarse! Take care you and yours !
I really love this one the colors are so vibrant
That is absolutely gorgeous!!! Love that peppermint color.
Thank you so much! Me too
Just absolutely beautiful, Gilly!!!
I find that doing abstract landscapes are very inspiring, love your channel!
Ah Gilly, that is beautiful! Well done!
Wow Gilly that's beautiful as always. Love those colours
Beautifully done. Great base marbling, good complimentary and contrasting colors, and composition turned out well.
A bit off topic, but I just wanted to send you hugs 🫂 🤗 ❤️ because everyone needs a hug once in awhile 🤗 😊
❤
Wow Gilly it’s gorgeous
I’d love to see you do a blowout on a tryptich again. Maybe with a different background on each canvas but same colors on blowout. Also maybe do a fire and ice type painting. Or series of paintings with the Fire/Ice themes. White, blues, silvers for ice’ and bright red, oranges, yellows for ‘fire’. Also I loved the ‘tree of life’ paintings you did in the past. And Gilly, I personally prefer the videos where you are painting live and talking as you go more than the voiceovers. You have such a perky voice and personality! Makes my day to hear your cute sayings 😊 Love your art and love you too! God bless….
Awesome absolutely beautiful❤
Che bello, bravissima 👏👏👏
Absolutely Magnificent. Cool & fiery course that blend intrinsically with each other. Wondrous xxx
Colours sorry.x
This turned out so beautiful love the colors as for going forward would love see how you embellish your paintings
Love it, you always make it look so easy Gilly.
Beautiful Gilly!! 💖😊
Thank you! 😊
Love it very much ❤
Just gorgeous
Turned out gorgeous! You and Olga are my favorite of all so to see you drawing inspiration from her is amazing! You both inspire me greatly ❤️❤️
Your creations are amazing!
This is so very beautiful. I love it!
Very nice, I love it
WOW Gilly?! This is 1 of my favs of yours! I love it!!!
Bellissimo 🌊🌈🌺
Wowwwwww, love the colours!!!
I love it. It's so beautiful. I have an unusual idea for you to try. Start with a ring pour but with a thinner consistency and then blow it out as a chias pour. I know.... I'm weird. 🤣
I'd like to see you do something like Cindy Vanderveen.
This is just beautiful. I enjoy watching your creative eye. Olga is wonderful. COZ does some beautiful work as well as you know. Maybe some texture on your canvas.✌
It's perfect!
That's very pretty, Gilly! 💖 What a fun technique!
P.S. ~ I really like that song, which I never heard before hearing it here a few times.
lovely
just stunning x
Looking at this painting makes me so happy it brings tears to my eyes. The colors, the background, the final result - it couldn’t be better!
A real gem there Gilly!
Gilly, this is beautiful and I am sure Olga is honored to have been your inspiration! Love the flowiness of the blowout and the colors are fantastic! :)
Your art your way is so inspiring. As a newbie, I would like to have some videos on how to get the correct consistency. I'm still having challenges getting it just the way I want so I don't get any mud. Thank you for all you are sharing with the community.
😍😍😍 I was already in love when you made the base ! Wonderful colours, caribbean vibes, it makes me think of happiness, holiday, sun and summer 🐠🦜🐚🪸🌴🍹🏖
Its absolutely wonderful. You might want to try a pour, or blow out that you pull what you see in the painting.
What about a strainer pour or a tree swipe?
I love all that you do!
That veridian green is so gorgeous...love the blow out too. Very pretty. I'm going to throw out Tina's botanical Dutch pour as a new technique. I know she uses house paint but I have actually done it with thicker acrylic paint and it worked just fine. My leaves were not as defined but still gorgeous..just a thought😁FYI..I ordered my KIS PM last night. Can't wait to try it!😁😘
Sounds great! Have fun 🤩
Gilly, both you and Olga are in my notification list, and your inspiration of her paint pour is perfect. The marbled background is stunning and your focal point of colour is classic Gilly. I would like to see you try a piece similar to Olga's universe series where she uses an embroidery hoop to highlight a planet or moon. I bet you'd rock it!
GILLY I'D LOVE TO SEE YOU DO SOME COMB RIBBON , I THINK IT WOULD BE SO NICE WITH FLOWERS.. THANK YOU,,, LOVE YOUR PASSION,,, YOU ARE SO TALENTED..[
Coming soon!
How about an idea I'm gonna do myself. Using a piece of glass, doing a pour of whatever kind on one side then flip the glass over and embellish on the other side. I think it will give it a 3d look. I'm personally thinking of sky colors for the pour and a bird flying scene as my embellish. But the different looks are endless with this idea.
I know you like mixed media but not sure if your interested in painting on glass.
Oh wow Gilly! I don't think the word 'stunning' is even good enough to describe this one! Stunning, gorgeous-amazing. I was watching Mark J Ratcliffe's video for today...you touched on everything he was saying as well. He's a great inspiration and I have learned a lot of techniques from him. You, Olga and Mark are my favorite teachers, and I am grateful for each one of you!
Thank you so much!
This is just beautiful! I’m just starting to do this art. I’ve made 3. So basically no experience so I have no suggestions. I’m sorry your feeling low. I hope some other folks can come up with something to ‘stir your pot’. You and Olga are the artists I’ve latched onto. I love your works!! I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos. There are not enough hours in the day. Plus you are so encouraging and uplifting and I find myself talking back to you on my iPad. Lol
Exquisite. ⭐⭐⭐❤️
Many thanks!
Beautiful painting & I love the marbled background! Hadn't even thought of combining techniques like that. Colors are beautiful too!
😎👌💥💥💥💥💥
Masse Art has been doing a blob with three different colors, I think that would be nice
This is gorgeous!
You asked about other ideas.
I heard someone say they had watched a video where the lady was using a makeup sponge covered in plastic wrap and was using it in a paint pour.
I'd like to see you do a video using that technique.
Oh thank you!
Love the colour and the composition. It’s soft but striking as well. 💚
I follow your art page. I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next. You inspired me to try the balloon technique. Thank you for your instructions and positive words. Posting from Idaho USA.
Mark Ratcliffe is doing some lovely work that has moved away from the same old blow outs (changing it up a bit) yes it does get a tad boring to do the same thing over and over, his recent swipes have been quite beautiful and look super easy ( I'm surethey're not) inspiration maybe?
This is a really amazing painting! Super gorgeous colour combinations. Great work, Gilly! I hope you're still enjoying your time away, and you and John are having a relaxing time. You both certainly deserve it! Big hugs. 😃💜🙋♀️🥰🤗⛱️
Wow! This is so bright but also delicate, love the colours! Would love to see more like this in different colour combinations. You have the knack of just knowing what colours go well together 💕
You should try the flick and spin from Annulka fluid art. I have tried but my fused wrist won't work. It turns out awesome
Really nice! Keep watching Olga, she did one recently called "Nebula" with hoops. Also check out "Mii Painting" from Veronica Mii. She takes her pours to the next level. In fact several levels. Hope this helps, and praying for better days for you!😙
Gorgeous! Have you ever tried a ninja swipe I've seen a few people do it on UA-cam I think Sarah Mack is the one that created it. It's a fun technique I have yet to master but I'd love to see your take on it!
Olga and Mollysartistry both love color so try watching Molly for more inspiration! (You probably do already!)
Beatiful.can you make a large fan?
It’s stunning love the colours been mowing the lawn it’s a pain in back I got one peace to resin then I will get back to painting ,how’s your husband??
I absolutely love it. Have you tried the deconstructed bloom like Karen at Waterfall ❤
Not yet!
This is beautiful
You make it look so easy when you use the hair dryer and it isn’t 😂😂😂
I have tried and tried and it comes out looking like cuca. 😅😒
