Earth could hold between 100 Billion to 1 Trillion people.there are clean energy plans that could be put into practice if we had the will
Solar collecting satellites beaming IR down to power stations on the ground that distribute it as electric current to the cities. Micro farming and hydroponics can be grown indoors year round. You can build and are starting to see units no bigger then commercial fridges that grow herbs and vegetables inside the restaurant. Where outdoor gardens are not an option. Think on the savings in transporting from rural farms into warehouses then to distributors, then to markets how much we save in pollution from making, manufacturing and operating transport vehicles? This is an argument for the left wing. Address their concerns.
As with nuclear power you can build almost anywhere. You can live underground in caves with light and heat via nuclear power. Floating chandelier cities. in the oceans. On the icy Tundra under domes. To say nothing about O'Neil cylinders or their big brothers Mackendrie cylinders.. City sized or nation sized self contained environments in space. The population size could grow to trillions before we even mention that these cylinders are space ships that can be moved. That they aren't just limited to Earth orbit. If we expand to mega projects the scale and population could grow exponentially. And that is just within our solar system.

Regarding ABORTION, it is pertinent to make mention of a particularly controversial issue, and that is, whether or not an unborn human (whether zygote, embryo, or foetus) is fully human. The undeniable and blatantly obvious fact is, that a child conceived by two parents of the Homo sapiens species (or even cloned from a single parent) is without doubt a unique human being from the very moment of conception. Those in favour of illegal abortion (i.e. killing of an unborn child for unlawful, illicit reasons) are quite adamant that it is perfectly fine to end the life of an unborn child (sometimes even a birthed child, believe it or not!) due to it not being fully-developed, insentient and/or conscious.
Any person with adequate intelligence knows that even after an infant child has been birthed, it is STILL not fully developed, since it has yet to pass through the preliminary stages of life such as childhood and adolescence. So then, why stop killing at the foetal stage? Why not destroy the life of a twelve year old boy, since he has not yet fully developed unto adulthood? The fact remains that a human is fully human, regardless of the stage of life in which it is situated. It is not partially human and partially giraffe - it is FULLY human. The aforementioned preliminary stages (zygote, embryo, and foetus) are just that - merely stages of the human life-cycle, and although the life of an embryo may not be quite as morally valuable as that of a five year-old child, that is insufficient justification in itself for destroying its life.
Therefore, it is debatable whether or not a human embryo is, by the strictest definitions of the terms, a conscious, sentient person, but it is INDISPUTABLE that it is a human being, worthy of protection, and must not be unlawfully terminated in a just society. It is indeed fortuitous that the mothers of outstanding historic personalities such as Lords Krishna, Buddha, and Jesus decided to not murder their precious offspring!
Personally, I don’t think that I could ever condone the abortion of a child, by a woman in my family, even if it was morally-permissible, because I could NEVER perform the act of inserting my arm into the uterus of my mother, one of my wives or daughters, and manually extracting the embryo or foetus. And if I could not bring myself to perform such a despicable deed myself, I ought not pay a (so-called) doctor to execute the baby on my behalf. As a strict vegan, I sometimes feel faintly guilty destroying the life of an insect, such as a mosquito or an ant, even when it is attacking me or my food supply, what to speak of terminating the life of a fellow human being, the most highly-evolved species of life in the known universe! It would be far preferable for me to encourage my daughter, wife or mother to give birth to the child and then relinquish it to an adoptive family.
See Chapter 12 of “A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity” (“F.I.S.H”) to learn the distinction between legitimate abortion and illegal abortion, and to understand metaethics/morality in general.
In summary, abortion is legitimate only in the case of rape or if the mother’s life is at risk.
To read “F.I.S.H”, which is, without the slightest shadow of a doubt, by FAR the most important work of literature ever composed, Email the address listed on the "About" page of my UA-cam channel, with the acronym “FISH” in the subject field.

The issue is there are already too many humans for the planet to handle and to be able to feed them all and keep the same lifestyle we have. We should have population control so we don't overrun the planet like a plague of locusts. We also need to make sure that parenting is improved, this experiment in trying to alter society so quickly has degenerated into crime ridden chaos with no accountability. Make people accountable for their actions.

I don't see the issue as too many people. It's an issue of lack of production and distribution where it is needed. Less people means less potential solutions. Government policies and academic theories are not helping and in fact might be the root cause of these problems.

I can't speak of American population in decline, But it seems here in the UK is the opposite is true, Many by a 100%increase in immigration from Europe and elsewhere, 10 million in 10 years approx!! The indigenous population are having fewer children average 2.5 per family, Where as family's from countries like North Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, India,Bangladesh, and so on there average is 8-10 children!! The population of GT Britain stands at 68 million, A leading professor' on behalf of the World Heath Organisation was asked an important question what would be an ideal population for England, The criteria of this study was Quality of life, Resources, Infrastructure, The population density professor spent 3 years to complete his findings, In short Britain would have to reduce its population to 21millon!!! Can't see this happening anytime soon unless the war in the Ukraine escalates!!!

It’s been estimated that the footprint of man (i.e., our infrastructure, rail lines, parking lots, properties, airports, homes, buildings, communities-anywhere u see hard, measurable evidence of MAN) is about 3% of Earth terrestrial surface area.
Yes, there’s ostensibly inhospitable regions (cliffs, high elevations, tundra, swamp, etc). BUT the idea that we’re running out of room or resources??
Anyone who’s flown or especially DRIVEN across America-ALONE-will tell you the mind-numbing expanses of land- much further than the eye can record-in EVERY radial direction for THOUSANDS of miles.
This is land preserved, land cultivated for agriculture and land with the potential for settlement. Not only that, humans have well established the ability to cohabit vertically in high rise structures, limiting the lateral footprint.
Lastly, more people means more minds working on innovating solutions for man’s😮 challenges.
The idea of ZPG to limit human population for anthropogenic benefit is inane. ✌️

  • @maddydog1234

I agree with Charlie on a lot of issues, but not all of this argument is true. Climate change is not nonsense, it needs to be addressed here and now to avoid crossing irreversible tipping points due to feedback loops. His argument that we are living a good life now, may be true, but future generations will have to deal with a changing climate, increased droughts and floods, increased fires, extreme weather patterns, desertification, etc. We are not the only ones on this earth, and we need an earth first approach, not a human centered ideology. We cannot and will not be able to survive without healthy functioning ecosystems. Let's not forget that we as humans depend on soil ecosystems for agriculture. Loss of soil biodiversity due to desertification and droughts will affect negatively our life giving food systems (just one example is the issue of lower nutrient density in foods due to poor soil biodiversity...the more plant diversity in a system, the more soil microorganism diversity, which converts nutrients for use and storage in plants.)

I agree with most of what Charlie said. I just want to point out that belief in a god is not required to agree with conservative principles. I do not have a belief in a god but understand the importance of reproduction for our species. The right should try to understand ppl like me who may not religiously agree, but do so politically. A lot more independents would vote more conservative if conservatives left beliefs out of it and focused on the principles instead. This isn't to say their belief can't be a part of their political opinions, but disregarding those who don't accept your claim for an unproven, zero-provided-evidence deity, is disingenuous from the aspect of an open mind.

A view from the UK. Sorry Charlie, on this one your opinion is wrong. Why? Because successive increases in population have created the fact that we want more and more people to service it. It is in effect, self fulfilling. More people want more of everything. Should the population decrease, and i am hoping for the sake of humanity that it does, there will, like similar scenarios, be a short term struggle for readjustment. Houses would become more available, traffic would ease. Food would be more plentiful. Even pollution would diminish. Mechanisation and robots and AI have taken out many of the hard, boring, mundane, repetitive jobs we needed "manpower" for.
