Earth could hold between 100 Billion to 1 Trillion people.there are clean energy plans that could be put into practice if we had the will Solar collecting satellites beaming IR down to power stations on the ground that distribute it as electric current to the cities. Micro farming and hydroponics can be grown indoors year round. You can build and are starting to see units no bigger then commercial fridges that grow herbs and vegetables inside the restaurant. Where outdoor gardens are not an option. Think on the savings in transporting from rural farms into warehouses then to distributors, then to markets how much we save in pollution from making, manufacturing and operating transport vehicles? This is an argument for the left wing. Address their concerns. As with nuclear power you can build almost anywhere. You can live underground in caves with light and heat via nuclear power. Floating chandelier cities. in the oceans. On the icy Tundra under domes. To say nothing about O'Neil cylinders or their big brothers Mackendrie cylinders.. City sized or nation sized self contained environments in space. The population size could grow to trillions before we even mention that these cylinders are space ships that can be moved. That they aren't just limited to Earth orbit. If we expand to mega projects the scale and population could grow exponentially. And that is just within our solar system.

Regarding ABORTION, it is pertinent to make mention of a particularly controversial issue, and that is, whether or not an unborn human (whether zygote, embryo, or foetus) is fully human. The undeniable and blatantly obvious fact is, that a child conceived by two parents of the Homo sapiens species (or even cloned from a single parent) is without doubt a unique human being from the very moment of conception. Those in favour of illegal abortion (i.e. killing of an unborn child for unlawful, illicit reasons) are quite adamant that it is perfectly fine to end the life of an unborn child (sometimes even a birthed child, believe it or not!) due to it not being fully-developed, insentient and/or conscious. Any person with adequate intelligence knows that even after an infant child has been birthed, it is STILL not fully developed, since it has yet to pass through the preliminary stages of life such as childhood and adolescence. So then, why stop killing at the foetal stage? Why not destroy the life of a twelve year old boy, since he has not yet fully developed unto adulthood? The fact remains that a human is fully human, regardless of the stage of life in which it is situated. It is not partially human and partially giraffe - it is FULLY human. The aforementioned preliminary stages (zygote, embryo, and foetus) are just that - merely stages of the human life-cycle, and although the life of an embryo may not be quite as morally valuable as that of a five year-old child, that is insufficient justification in itself for destroying its life. Therefore, it is debatable whether or not a human embryo is, by the strictest definitions of the terms, a conscious, sentient person, but it is INDISPUTABLE that it is a human being, worthy of protection, and must not be unlawfully terminated in a just society. It is indeed fortuitous that the mothers of outstanding historic personalities such as Lords Krishna, Buddha, and Jesus decided to not murder their precious offspring! Personally, I don’t think that I could ever condone the abortion of a child, by a woman in my family, even if it was morally-permissible, because I could NEVER perform the act of inserting my arm into the uterus of my mother, one of my wives or daughters, and manually extracting the embryo or foetus. And if I could not bring myself to perform such a despicable deed myself, I ought not pay a (so-called) doctor to execute the baby on my behalf. As a strict vegan, I sometimes feel faintly guilty destroying the life of an insect, such as a mosquito or an ant, even when it is attacking me or my food supply, what to speak of terminating the life of a fellow human being, the most highly-evolved species of life in the known universe! Fair point Charlie, I think you're right about population decline but my feeling is that will only happen in the first world NOT the third. What's the solution? I've got no idea
Good times, Charlie. I would caution everyone here to stop dismissing biblical references simply because they came from the bible. The bible is a pretty good read. It has tons of practical advice for just about any situation you'll find yourself in.
@@scottwaters998 And why shouldn't I expect them to listen. They seem to have plenty of opinions on it and they seem to have absolutely no trouble putting it out there, and you know what? I listen. That's how I can respond so relevantly. I mean come on dude. You have no intention of listening but demand you be heard. You kinda suck.
I wouldn't agree that people are superior to the earth, people can't live anywhere that is deemed uninhabitable and if the earth becomes that way we cannot live on it. The population will automatically decline. Protect people and protect those that want to protect the earth so we can all live happily, live well, and have a planet that gives back to the people that want to have children and large families.
I agree with a lot of what Charlie says, just not the religious mumbo jumbo. I am surprised that such an obviously bright and well read man would buy into an invisible man in the sky.
lol, I said almost the exact same thing 14 years ago to the smartest guy I had ever met. Instead of debating me on the topic (which he loved to do) he just put his head down sort of sad and walked out of the room. It shocked me because we had gone back and forth over a number of topics. For some reason his response compelled me to read the Bible for myself - and what I came to realize is that no one can intellectually convince another person that God is real and the Bible is true. God Himself has to convince the person - and He will, but only when you're ready.
Most people who think there is a population problem, live in dense population areas, i.e. big cities. 600,000 US people find themselfs lost in the American wilderness annually. If the professors that teach this garbage, experience being lost in the wilderness, I believe that they would change their tune.
No. You didn't watch the entire video. He answered the question directly starting a 3:40 saying he rejects the entire argument and then gives the reasons why.
@@buckhorncortez She was saying that her peers reckon the government should spend millions of dollars on contraception and then she asked, quote "How do we get the average student to realise that that money doesn't just come from the government, it's not magic" ... I do think she was cut off before she could ask her question in its entirety ... I'm sure she was going to continue saying something along the line of, 'it's the taxpayer who will foot this bill'
He advises to reject the premise i.e. reject all these nonsense like abortion and contraception. That is an answer good enough to stop further discussion of nonsense.
When you teach generations not to have children, they will desire to develop a government that will take care of them in the future because innately they realize no will be there for them in the later years. It's part of the reason for their passion for a nanny state. When you have a tribe, family, or financial independent, then minimal or no government is you desire.
As soon as a premise has the key word "control," the students should have applied their intellect to at least refute it. And it should have been encouraged by the teachers. But that's my fanciful thinking.
The wrong people are having babies and too many of them. Responsible ppeople are scared of how the world is and irresponsible people keep popping kids out with bliss.
3 million is a rounding error for the US government. He’s correct to attack this question by showing that more people is a good thing. Edit: more people is good if they will be producers instead of welfare recipients. In a free market society people will be productive if you don’t give them free government welfare. The entire world benefits.
Come back to me when you are at an advanced age and there aren't enough of the next generation to supply the government cash I am sure you and others will be holding your hand out for.
Oh dear ! As soon as someone brings God into it, those who don’t share that belief are alienated and the discussion is over. That’s not to say the spiritual element should be ignored
i usually agree with Charlie but ............. this world is a closed eco system that can only handle so many people. what's the largest population the world could handle ............. i dont know but it is limited.
The issue is there are already too many humans for the planet to handle and to be able to feed them all and keep the same lifestyle we have. We should have population control so we don't overrun the planet like a plague of locusts. We also need to make sure that parenting is improved, this experiment in trying to alter society so quickly has degenerated into crime ridden chaos with no accountability. Make people accountable for their actions.
I don't see the issue as too many people. It's an issue of lack of production and distribution where it is needed. Less people means less potential solutions. Government policies and academic theories are not helping and in fact might be the root cause of these problems.
I can't speak of American population in decline, But it seems here in the UK is the opposite is true, Many by a 100%increase in immigration from Europe and elsewhere, 10 million in 10 years approx!! The indigenous population are having fewer children average 2.5 per family, Where as family's from countries like North Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, India,Bangladesh, and so on there average is 8-10 children!! The population of GT Britain stands at 68 million, A leading professor' on behalf of the World Heath Organisation was asked an important question what would be an ideal population for England, The criteria of this study was Quality of life, Resources, Infrastructure, The population density professor spent 3 years to complete his findings, In short Britain would have to reduce its population to 21millon!!! Can't see this happening anytime soon unless the war in the Ukraine escalates!!!
It’s been estimated that the footprint of man (i.e., our infrastructure, rail lines, parking lots, properties, airports, homes, buildings, communities-anywhere u see hard, measurable evidence of MAN) is about 3% of Earth terrestrial surface area. Yes, there’s ostensibly inhospitable regions (cliffs, high elevations, tundra, swamp, etc). BUT the idea that we’re running out of room or resources?? Anyone who’s flown or especially DRIVEN across America-ALONE-will tell you the mind-numbing expanses of land- much further than the eye can record-in EVERY radial direction for THOUSANDS of miles. This is land preserved, land cultivated for agriculture and land with the potential for settlement. Not only that, humans have well established the ability to cohabit vertically in high rise structures, limiting the lateral footprint. Lastly, more people means more minds working on innovating solutions for man’s😮 challenges. The idea of ZPG to limit human population for anthropogenic benefit is inane. ✌️
Why do Christian conservatives always have to bring up the Bible about these matters? Bro your religion and it's scripture are subjective not objective. They have no place in these discussions.
Every life is a gift and we need less restrictions on gun ownership so certain gifts can keep blasting other gifts to send them to heaven to be closer to God, thereby doing them a favour.

I proposed this a few years ago the same method for cnn and others. After a while they stopped showing the numbers of dissatisfied people just thumbs down. God Bless America
This is 1 thing that I disagree with Charlie on. In the last 100 years the population rose by 5 billion people. We don’t need to reproduce more, and a little population decline wouldn’t hurt. 7.7 billion in case anyone was curious.
I agree with Charlie on a lot of issues, but not all of this argument is true. Climate change is not nonsense, it needs to be addressed here and now to avoid crossing irreversible tipping points due to feedback loops. His argument that we are living a good life now, may be true, but future generations will have to deal with a changing climate, increased droughts and floods, increased fires, extreme weather patterns, desertification, etc. We are not the only ones on this earth, and we need an earth first approach, not a human centered ideology. We cannot and will not be able to survive without healthy functioning ecosystems. Let's not forget that we as humans depend on soil ecosystems for agriculture. Loss of soil biodiversity due to desertification and droughts will affect negatively our life giving food systems (just one example is the issue of lower nutrient density in foods due to poor soil biodiversity...the more plant diversity in a system, the more soil microorganism diversity, which converts nutrients for use and storage in plants.)
There has to be some point where there’s too many people on the planet, right? What would that number be? You can’t say that there’s no upper limit. You can’t honestly believe that Earth could host 1 quadrillion people, right?
I agree with most of what Charlie said. I just want to point out that belief in a god is not required to agree with conservative principles. I do not have a belief in a god but understand the importance of reproduction for our species. The right should try to understand ppl like me who may not religiously agree, but do so politically. A lot more independents would vote more conservative if conservatives left beliefs out of it and focused on the principles instead. This isn't to say their belief can't be a part of their political opinions, but disregarding those who don't accept your claim for an unproven, zero-provided-evidence deity, is disingenuous from the aspect of an open mind.
I disagree whole heartily with Kirk on the population issue. The statement show quick words with not enough information what one person does to pollute this world, what the cost factors are along with the drain on society. Just a ludacris statement. He is definitely has some very good points on other topic but this one is not it. Common sense has left the room on this one!
As many as you want! Their talents will be diverse. Teach them to be productive! That's where wealth and posterity go hand in hand. We can't be a strong nation if we're all poor, and starving.
A view from the UK. Sorry Charlie, on this one your opinion is wrong. Why? Because successive increases in population have created the fact that we want more and more people to service it. It is in effect, self fulfilling. More people want more of everything. Should the population decrease, and i am hoping for the sake of humanity that it does, there will, like similar scenarios, be a short term struggle for readjustment. Houses would become more available, traffic would ease. Food would be more plentiful. Even pollution would diminish. Mechanisation and robots and AI have taken out many of the hard, boring, mundane, repetitive jobs we needed "manpower" for.
Every week a new coal-fired power plant goes online in China but the climate activists never mention this.😮

Crisis communication class……. That’s a real class? There’s the problem…….
Fair point Charlie, I think you're right about population decline but my feeling is that will only happen in the first world NOT the third. What's the solution? I've got no idea
More real weddings and more children being born to teach them the Bible. John 3:36 & Jude 7.
crisis communication, what kind of subject is that?
Good times, Charlie. I would caution everyone here to stop dismissing biblical references simply because they came from the bible. The bible is a pretty good read. It has tons of practical advice for just about any situation you'll find yourself in.
I dont hate what people believe, but just because a book has good life advice doesnt mean gods real. A philospher isnt god.

He dropped and broke an expensive mic.
Fun fact at 500 sq feet each the entire human population could fit in Texas that is actually how small we are in this world...
He misunderstood the question.
Good man not far from heaven
When you teach generations not to have children, they will desire to develop a government that will take care of them in the future because innately they realize no will be there for them in the later years. It's part of the reason for their passion for a nanny state. When you have a tribe, family, or financial independent, then minimal or no government is you desire.
Charlie Kirk for President
"Popular leftist question." Charlie Kirk wasn't attacking her but the argument...
Couples shouldnt have kids just because it's what everyone tells you to do.
Have kids if you can afford them and a strong relationship
If only that population decline could have started in Russia fifteen years ago...then wound up worse.
As soon as a premise has the key word "control," the students should have applied their intellect to at least refute it. And it should have been encouraged by the teachers. But that's my fanciful thinking.
Come on Charlie....it's actually the FIRST chapter: "Be fruitful and multiply..." is from Genesis 1:28.
Abstinence works
The wrong people are having babies and too many of them. Responsible ppeople are scared of how the world is and irresponsible people keep popping kids out with bliss.

3 million is a rounding error for the US government. He’s correct to attack this question by showing that more people is a good thing.
Edit: more people is good if they will be producers instead of welfare recipients. In a free market society people will be productive if you don’t give them free government welfare. The entire world benefits.
“Population collapse” is the weakest argument you could ever make. Sophomoric.
Overpopulation is not a thing.
Population collapse!! How ludacris. He's got a heavy religious bias.
I lean to the right, but when he mentions god and the bible......you lose me.
I don’t think she’s a leftist. Sounds like she was asking advise on how to counter the argument the assignment presented.
Population is not an issue.
Poverty is at an all time low.
Starvation is at an all time low.
There is more obesity in the world than starvation.
A lot of this land you are taking about is undergoing desertification, we cannot sustain agriculture unless we address the issue of soil health.
that wasn't really the question , it was about overpopulation in other parts of the world like africa
Why do Christian conservatives always have to bring up the Bible about these matters? Bro your religion and it's scripture are subjective not objective. They have no place in these discussions.
Yes! Japan is already in a major population decline. We don't want that problem in the west.
We/you already do
While AI and robots take over our jobs in future, families can plan to have more children. It is a win-win. They (robots) produce. We reproduce.
Every life is a gift and we need less restrictions on gun ownership so certain gifts can keep blasting other gifts to send them to heaven to be closer to God, thereby doing them a favour.
To all those who don't support Fox for the recent actions to remove Bongino and others from the air. Anyone who is on youtube or other media just press the dislike your program button.
Why does he have a lisp in this video?
Agree with Kirk until he starts bringing up God and religion.
IDIOCY
Why?
future will be decided by the poor countries srtiving to be the rich ones
I disagree whole heartily with Kirk on the population issue. The statement show quick words with not enough information what one person does to pollute this world, what the cost factors are along with the drain on society. Just a ludacris statement. He is definitely has some very good points on other topic but this one is not it. Common sense has left the room on this one!
Poll: how many children should my wife and I have? We have two already.
As many as you want! Their talents will be diverse. Teach them to be productive! That's where wealth and posterity go hand in hand. We can't be a strong nation if we're all poor, and starving.

Damn..300 million in India don't have access to a functioning toilet??!! Really!!?
