I agree- personally after shooting a lot of rounds through my XL and C2 comped with red dots and kept the optic on my XL but took it off my C2 comped . For probable SD situations I don't think the optic will make a major difference. I'll hit what I am aiming at with either but I find the C2 comped with just a light and stock sights is just better for ME. YMMV
Thanks for the comparison. My C2 replaced my EDC G19. I carried the Glock for 7 years and during that time I replaced the recoil spring to a heavier weight, sights, and barrel. I was thinking of changing out the trigger and other mods when I started looking into Staccato. Decided to put money into purchasing C2. Carrying Staccato (no mods) for 6 months now and love it more.
@ Fernando Gonzalez it is definitely chunkier, I am holding a g19x decked out and a c2 decked out and the c2 is heavier and thicker overall "chunky" even after stippling grips
If there is even a comparison between a $500 pistol and a $2500 pistol, then the $500 pistol is probably the better value. I still want a Staccato, though. 😆 Great video, good sir. Well done.
Not true, the best pistol is the best option to put your life on, if you have money to spend on it, spend the money. It’s like comparing health care to a first aid kit, some people can only afford the kit, doesn’t mean it’s the better option
The staccato is probably the best carry pistol I have ever used. Anyone who has shot one they can't believe how accurate it is. I think it's the perfect pistol for sell and I also love the ruger 57
This is a great way to showcase the difference you are perceiving. Excellent job, I just got my C2 DPO and I am loving it. When talking to other shooters, wondering if it is worth going from Glock to Staccato. It is tough to convey. As Bill Frady from lock n load radio says, it is percentage difference. Therefore I think your videos hits the nail on the head.
I finally went to the c2 and imo its hands down worth it if you got the money. Was always telling myself I would hate to carry something that expensive but it's a tool that could save your life. No reason to be cheap. The ppq is now my cheap truck gun
@@RockinRack that is awesome! I am really impressed with mine, combined with the Holosun 407k, it is almost cheating. It is also easy to conceal and easy to control, keeping the red dot in view during recoil. Staccato really hit a home run on this model.

Thanks Big Boogie, glad you enjoyed it. Check out my other reviews on the Staccato, I have 4 other videos that are in a playlist on my channel. Take care and thanks for stopping by!
The Glock will serve you better in 90 percent of scenarios over there staccato and most of shooters couldn’t even shoot a staccato good enough to actually see the difference and if you are that good you probably wouldn’t be able to justify a staccato anyways. I’ve had both. Ended up going with Glock. You can maintain them yourself and a fully built Glock is only gonna set you back 1800 bucks.
If you were "shooting both fast and accurately and at extreme distances with irons with no problem." Then I'd say based on the that statement and the targets @ 05:37, that the G19M is the better buy. You can get two G19's belt, holster, mags everything you need for competition. Or one G19M and a RD and still get a rig, at about the same price as one Staccato C2.
I currently carry the glock 19 mos (gen 5) off duty. I carried a G30 for 20 years before that and a 1911 before that. I also carried a RMR equipped G34 at work before getting the staccato P. Having worked the P next to the G34 I had a significant improvement with the P model. I'm hoping for the same with the C2 when I can afford one. My 19 has more wear than yours is showing. My G34 has even more. They have thousands of rounds through them in training, some competitions and training at work (VCQB along with basic stuff). My old G30 and G21 (duty gun) have even more with most of the finish worn off. I wish the staccato duty type guns were around when I started.
I have had two or three of all of those Glock models. Carried them and shot them in the competition. They are all great guns that endured 10s of thousands of rounds until I traded a lot of them off. You’re right though, the Staccato is on another level.
Thanks for video. Subbed. I have both pistols also; only 200 rounds through my recent Staccato C2 DPO purchase, but I was planning on doing my own comparison between the two. If one can afford the C2 and likes the 1911/2011 platform it's a great choice; however, based on your comparison for the average shooter the Glock is all that is necessary as I think you also conveyed very nicely.
Here in Aus, a Stacatto runs $8500 AUD. Gen 5 G17 $1150 AUD The difference in fit and finish and shooting experience is there of course. However, it is not 7-8x better to warrant the price being 7-8x higher. Diminishing returns is real with this. The value proposition for your money in the Glock is what wins for the majority of people. There's nothing wrong with wanting both. They serve different markets imo. Additionally, the reality is that 95 per cent or more of shooters won't be at the level to maximise a Glock let alone exploit the Stacattos potential.
Agreed, I’ve since traded of the staccato and still have the g19m.. For the staccato, it was a lot of money to leave tied up in a single firearm, much less a pistol.
FYI with the staccato you're not supposed to drop the slide on an empty chamber 👍 other than that this wasn't a bad comparison video. I just bought staccato number 3 (chunk ported p duo) and already have a c2 dpo with dlc threaded barrel (my original duo is being replaced with this due to a warranty incident) and p that's at vulcan for an optic cut and stacc-port. They're a great entry into the 2011 world and definitely worth the price but be warned that they'll ruin other pistols for you...
@@pjbiggleswerth8903 I sent it in for extractor issues and I guess since it had some chips in the finish as well they decided to refinish it while it was there
This comparison is good because they’re 2 of the best duty pistols on the market. I have 10’s of thousands of rounds through both. It’s quite simple. Remove the cost and what you have is: Glocks are much more practical, and carry better. Staccatos are easier to shoot but heavier with a bit more challenging maintenance. Forget accuracy, speed or finish. Both are solid in those departments, with reps. Worth noting, a Glock trigger can never be as fast as a 2011 trigger though. Both are excellent, personal preference.
My dad and uncles worked in high end auto maintenance. Hondas will run and run. Parts are cheap and plentiful for basic maintenance. Ferraris as they age not so much and I'd rather not pay the equivalent of a house down payment for repairs. It's not a good analogy.
I don’t have a Staccato but I do have Wilson and Nighthawk (including the EDC X9) so I would say I have some idea of how good the Staccato is. That said, as much as I see the difference between Glock and higher end guns, I still love my Glocks.
@@StuninRub Good to know. Planning to buy something nice. Would not plan to carry any of them anyways. So I just want the best firearm for fun at the Range. I think the Nighthawks are a work of Art. I am thinking that’s the way I will go.
Just a little FYI not good to drop the slide on an empty chamber on a 1911/2011. Great content, really enjoyed the real world shooting differences in the 2 products. I have a C-2 shipping to me tomorrow. Rick
@@shootersresourcechannel642 I hope so, I’m a big 1911/2011 Nighthawk and Wilson fan. I’ve got a nighthawk 2011 TRS COMMANDER but it’s a little big to carry. Rick
I have a gen 3 19, brownells slide cut for a 507c (x2 acss) an Overwatch Precision trigger group, a KKM threaded barrel, and a TRL 7A. It shoots very well, far better than I can. But at the end of the day, the grip angle still points a touch high. A Staccati C2 is getting ordered soon, it will have a 507c, and a TRL7A as well. I spent many years carrying full size 1911. And my wife really liked shooting the P we rented, and shot a near 1 hole group at 7 yards with it.
Perfect comparison!! At the end of the day you MUST hold a Staccato in person! If money isn’t an issue you really can’t compare the 2. Of corse the glock is cheaper and better value but consider a stick glock is not it! By the time you replace the trigger and sights your already up there in price! I would say to a new buyer if your starting out go with the glock value. However I believe a first time shooter would have a WAY better chance of hitting the target with the Staccato!!!!!
@@drossi101 Replace whatever you want it’s still a striker fired pistol. There’s no question which is a better quality gun Especially out the box. It’s all about the reliability from the factory. I simply tell people that aren’t gun nuts if you want something very good quality with less maintenance in money isn’t an issue then go with the 2011. It was all about the reliability any guns are going to start changing parts in makes it less reliable that was the point of this video not to compare the two brands! @@GSUnit21 I never even argued anything you said except your exaggeration of how expensive a trigger and sights are. I own 4 staccatos and have been carrying and shooting them in competition since they came out. I don’t shoot any other handguns. I never once mentioned a comparison of staccato and Glock. You just wanted someone to argue with so you made up a whole argument for me.
@@drossi101 I would never make up an argument just because. I apologize because I thought you were being smart most of the people that make the Glock comments Gave never shot the staccato before. I also owned plenty glocks. I honestly am not even that good of a shooter that’s the only reason why when I see these I sometimes comment for people that are new. I feel that the two guns in this video are a bad comparison to begin with as one is a single action and the other is a striker fire pistol. The comparison needs to be for two guns that are similar right out the box At a similar price range. Sorry if I offended you my brother
Thx for the video …The Glocks great and good enough.. the Staccato’s like a very pricey but tasty dessert…ultimately I don’t wanna be standing on the wrong end of either one .. which is why I’ll always carry … every single day
I shoot the C2 better than any other pistol I've ever shot. Not only that but the function as far as the feel of chambering, ejection, slide to frame fit, trigger pull and reset and feel of the safeties is as good as $4k 1911's I've owned.
Thank you so much for this video!!! Before I watched this video, I have been debating for several months whether to get the C2 or the G19 MOS. 😂 😂. Read my mind! I have the P DUO for LEO duty. Quick question for you. Do you find that your groupings are tighter with iron sites than with the red dot?
Never shot a Glock I didn't absolutely hate shooting.....even hated holding it. LOVE my Staccato C2 and Staccato P. Both are extremely accurate compared to the Glocks I've tried...and my Staccato P has a Delta Point Pro on it, and that makes it almost surgical.
I EDC since early 90s, actually carrying a Glock 17 or HK VP9 they are light in weight, accurate, reliable and fast, I learned to shoot with 1911 pistols and Browning Hi powers, I hated Glocks for long time until I carried one; Today a single action pistol is no brainier except as a collectible piece or you just like it and want it, also you dont want to expose an expensive gun to sweat, scratches and every day wear. Optics makes no sense either, most of the self defense shootings happens in very close distances and you dont even aim or extend your arms, besides the prosecutor going to use any optic or laser against you or any attached light for counterweight recoil. People complaint about the full size guns for EDC but they attach a lot of stuff to a compact handgun making the compact handgun more difficult to conceal, heavy and uncomfortable.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying Metatron, I actually ended up trading off the C2 Duo. It was a lot of money to have tied up in one pistol. Great gun though. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.
Yeah it's a cool gun but I always look at what and how a tool makes your life easier the weight the aftermarket the abuse it can take and the quik field work you can do with glocks is great you can take everything apart and fix any broken or aged parts in the field so you should owen booth . Staccato sure makes a great looking gun almost like they took the style of the glock and made a 1911
Staccato fan boys, please, don't get mad; but I'll stick with my Glocks. I'm happy that so many of you have learned what us 1911 shooters have known for a very long time. The 1911 and it's derivatives are the best shooting handguns. When I want to shoot for recreation, I shoot my 1911's. When I want a tool for self-defense, my Glock pistols are more than adequate.
I love my Sc2d but the stock trigger shoe is sharp. I need to replace that. Any suggestions? And I also carry a G19 because it's light and holds 15+1 and just feels better in my pants. lol Love um both.
I found carrying open with a holster that rides high has changed a lot for me. Even my p365 seemed uncomfortable at times when iwb. My shirts cover up my pistol and have never had anyone even notice I'm open carrying. I now find myself carrying 100% of the time as before I would hesitate to fiddle with shoving a holster in my waistband and find that sweet spot just to run to the gas station. Now my holster stays on my belt and it's just 2nd nature to throw a gun in before I go anywhere. What works for me might not be the case for everyone but I recommend giving it a try if you can relate to anything I've said
a never ending argument! Most Glock guys would choose a staccato over a Glock IF THEY COULD AFFORD IT! The Glock argument.. I gat into it often, take the Glock ate $650, and a trigger at $200, add a barrel (if you shoot lead) at $200, cut the slide for optic (like most guys are going to), $200, cut the slide to get the recoil CLOSE to the staccato (which it will never be!) and your at $1350!
In regard to accuracy, I do not think red dot vs iron sights is an apples to apples comparison of guns. I have the C2DUO and a Shadow Systems MR920 (an improved G19) and for me a red dot on both guns significantly improved my accuracy at distance. Good vid though.
I understand your point, I can shoot the staccato very well with irons, I have a really good video link below and you will see I shoot it at great distances with a high level of accuracy and also can shoot it very fast. I honestly just did’nt want to take my red dot off as it doesn’t make much of a difference for me in the drills performed for me though I know it might for others. ua-cam.com/video/PJ8MPO1gWhs/v-deo.html
You know what my firearms instructors used to say about a Glock vs a 1911? The Glock is a combat accurate pistol so at ranges of up to 25 yards would be considered for combat effective where as 1911/2011 can put a bullseye shot at 50 yards. Different tools for different applications. If you can afford it obviously the staccato is superior to glocks and I plan on getting one myself one of the these days for duty use.
Do you think the C2 is worth the extra money compared to the MR920 (or XR920)? I like the 1911/2011 platform a little better than the striker fired, but Shadow Systems has a better red dot mounting system that allows the mounting bolts to go deeper into the slide. Do you find they are both just as accurate with red dots?
I love my glock can't beat if you do a couple things to it double undercut and gas peddle cut also just throw a shoe for the trigger apex is great and either run a apex conector but if you want best conector for a 19 I like the dot conector on my slim line glock the ghost edge conector is really great .
The Staccato has a two piece frame, aluminum top and polymer grip. Both steel and aluminum have their pros and cons, steel is heavier, but wears less. The extra weight can reduce recoil, but it’s a chore to carry. Aluminum guns help provide an all metal gun at a reduced weight. If you are buying a 1911 in 45acp the aluminum will be more snappy, but in 9mm it’ll be a joy to shoot. Take care, hope that helps.
The Staccato is too expensive for me right now. I’m not hating on people who own them, I’m glad you’re able to support the 2A community and American manufacturing. But a Glock is a dependable firearm for the everyday working man. I know the Staccato says it can be a duty gun, but it seems more like a luxury item to me. Especially in this economy, I’ll be sticking with my gen 3 Glock for the foreseeable future. How about a gauntlet test between these 2 guns?
Majority of ppl i know that own staccatos use then for competition, my P replaced my g19 as my comp gun. It's like shooting a sowing machine. Your comment is the same as ppl owning a taurus g2c and saying glocks are just luxury
@@gabrielcollazo6835 You’re not wrong and I have no problem with people buying expensive guns at all. More power to them if they can afford it. I remember being given a raggedy old M9 for duty use, I would have loved to have been issued a Staccato!

My wife picked it up in her name because ive been gone at work for months? But I really have no interest in it, im not a 9mm 1911, or 2011 guy, so its up for sale or trade , new in my safe with tags?
Good shooting and video.. Not as valid of a comparison though since you shot at a slow pace with the Staccato and pretty quick pace with the Glock. I'm definitely a Glock guy... but at distance they aren't great for groups due to the trigger. Not biased though... cause I want a C2 pretty bad too.
In the beginning, best to start with a basic reliable well known model. Plus the investment $ won't cost you a kidney. If you decide you're not going to shoot recreationally then the Glock would be the wise choice. To upgrade and raid the bank account to a Staccato, if and when you reach a good competent level. It's like driving, once you pass the driving test, you would be insane to buy a Mustang for your first car without clocking up hours and miles first. Well thought out presentation. Appreciated

What made you go with the C2 over the P? Just curious. I’m thinking about buying one. Kinda like the look and feel of the C2, but it would be majority an OWB weapon being so heavy

I went through the same transition with it. Overall, it’s a great gun and I wish I would have held on to it. Though after having one, it would be hard to justify buying another one.
Totally different platforms. One is made with loose tolerance's for reliability. The Lambo, I mean Staccato has a ton of work done. Do they both get the job done. YES! but come on with that. Keep at it. EAGC
Put a little money in the glock and the trigger and recoil can be tons better and still be less than half of a staccato. I'd love to have one but the prices are absolutely insane.
I currently carrying a SIG p365x with a Holosun 507k. My Stacc is my pride and joy in my collection. I can’t stand it to be in a police safe if God forbid, I have to use my firearm. I’m proficient with my SIG and my Kimber Mako R7.
There’s simply no comparison between a 2011 trigger and a striker fired firearms. So which one is better? It’s a of personal taste, budget, and needs. Many can’t afford a 2k+ firearm platform. Whereas the Glock is simply more affordable. So to compare a 2011 trigger to a striker fired fired mechanism.
@Ben Dover by fail I mean any stoppage. Tolerances are too tight for this to run with dirt or sand in it . If it was more reliable than a glock or even a sig than the Teams guys would be using it as they can use whatever they want.
Staccato will fail before Glock. But that doesn’t mean staccato it’s unreliable. It’s extremely reliable. You just can’t abuse it and never clean it like a Glock.
I've had a Gen5 G19 for a while (fiber optic front, WC black rear) and recently added a C2 w/ RMR. I really wish my G19 also had an RMR so I could do a true head-to-head shooting comparison. It is unreal how fast I can put hits on target with the C2 (with the RMR).
While you can explain away that the test is only for 10 yards you have invalidated the test since the Glock doesn’t have a red dot. I would have been more impressed if the Glock had the red dot and the Staccato had just the irons.
I would expect an “apples to apples” response from a quality guru. I should have done a design of experiments and determine which features made a significant difference in performance :) I honestly just didn’t feel like taking my red dot off the staccato, so you’ll have to take my word for it, I do my first impressions video of the staccato without red dot and you’ll see it’s hard to miss with it... the G19 is great but it’s not on the same level.
At the end of the day they just tools and they have to perform I got them both but if I have to choose one for military use or law enforcement use home defense or edc I will stay with glock it works is simple you can find parts for it and you can work yourself on it without having to take it to a gunsmith staccato are very nice guns and they perform very well but the simplicity of the glock and the reliability you can't beat that but that's my personal intake on it great video 👍
you cant even compare these guns together... that's like comparing a Honda vs a Ferrari they both are very good at what they do... although they both are guns and great in what they do you cant compare them its not even fair to do so.

One of the benefits is they mount directly to the staccato with no intermediate mounting plates.
I just bought a Glock 20 and you still can’t beat a 1911 trigger!
Glock and Staccato are my go to handguns
I think the C2 already has an advantage. Saying that you should have done this without the red dot for a more realistic comparison. Good video though.
Apples to oranges comparison. You can put all the money in the world into your Glock and it will never compare to a staccato.

Would love to see you compare the Staccato to a Zev. it's a lot closer to the Staccato in price and design, but is still largely a Glock platform.
Great comprehensive video. Thank you! I have the 19 and want a Staccato. This was right up my alley.
@@shootersresourcechannel642 I still have over 20 glocks. I tend to hang on to what I purchase. The wife claims I'm a hoarder for guns :D

@@MrDZum yep. I have the C2 now as well as an off duty. I used that program for both my purchases
Thanks for stopping by and welcome to the channel Steve!
Here in Aus, a Stacatto runs $8500 AUD. Gen 5 G17 $1150 AUD
The difference in fit and finish and shooting experience is there of course.

I have 10’s of thousands of rounds through both. It’s quite simple. Remove the cost and what you have is:
Glocks are much more practical, and carry better.
A Honda Civic gets the job done, but a Ferrari is smoother, faster and a metric assload more sexy
Civic to Ferrari analogy is perfect!
Haha this was basically my comment too. Nothing wrong with a Honda... buttt.... Ferrari! Lol

A staccato does not even compare to how good a Wilson or Nighthawk shoots. Just a bunch of glock users trying out a 1911 platform for the first time.

Dude you can replace the trigger and sights for $160-$180 lol the price does not “get up there.”
@@drossi101 Replace whatever you want it’s still a striker fired pistol. There’s no question which is a better quality gun Especially out the box. It’s all about the reliability from the factory.
Staccato sure makes a great looking gun almost like they took the style of the glock and made a 1911
You have a red dot vs thick irons. Can’t say much on your comparison of the groups on the head of the target. Run dots on both and then see.
Yep, it's like they've never seen a 1911 🤔
Well put, I just sold one of my staccatos. Now looking at an upgraded g34.
I love my Sc2d but the stock trigger shoe is sharp. I need to replace that. Any suggestions? And I also carry a G19 because it's light and holds 15+1 and just feels better in my pants. lol Love um both.
Not sure about the trigger shoe, hopefully another viewer might have some experience.
What works for me might not be the case for everyone but I recommend giving it a try if you can relate to anything I've said
I always shoot high with my Glock after shooting the stacatto due to grip angle. Takes a few mags to get back. And vice versa
a never ending argument!
No
Staccato is still $2500 and Glocks have slide cuts and no trigger is going to be $200.
I just ran my Staccato P in a uspsa match. I had two magazine related failures. Not sure I’d carry it on duty.

I'd like to see you get your hands on a wilson combat edc x9 vs the C2 great comparison
Would love to get a Wilson EDC, it’s on my radar.
I love my glock can't beat if you do a couple things to it double undercut and gas peddle cut also just throw a shoe for the trigger apex is great and either run a apex conector but if you want best conector for a 19 I like the dot conector on my slim line glock the ghost edge conector is really great .
Steel or aluminum frame? Any idea on which one is better?

Staccato is a much better firearm except its inherently less reliable. Glock easily wins reliability and everything else goes to the Staccato

There’s simply no comparison between a 2011 trigger and a striker fired firearms. So which one is better? It’s a of personal taste, budget, and needs. Many can’t afford a 2k+ firearm platform.
Ferrari vs Toyota . That's what you're comparing 🤣
It wouldn't matter believe me .
