I finally realized that there were 2 factors that made Dorter as difficult as it was. One is obviously the archer on the top of his tower, two is actually the knight with the shield. Just the knight being there with his shield is enough to bolster the difficulty of the battle as all the dangerous enemies are very squishy but you have to be careful before advancing since the knight could start to tear up your backline or stall your frontline for the black mages and other archers to mess you up all while the archer on the tower 2-shots you.
@Eric Bishop Nice tips but at this point I'm sure everyone knows how to beat this battle already. I think OP was just reflecting what made the battle hard for them the first time
FFT was my first tactical game. I made it to Dorter without ever figuring out how to place another unit beside Ramza. This was the battle that forced me to scour the manual to learn how to place units. Dorter was where I learned to actually play Tactics games.
I recently found your channel by accident while searching for FFT tracks for my D&D sessions, and I have to say that these are some of the best, most striking remasters of a soundtrack that I ever heard, primarily because the feel that the tracks embodied remain the same, though it is presented in such an exciting high-quality way -- great job on all of them!
Woohoo! It's finally here! Been waiting for this one! It feels so nice hearing this with one with proper instrumentation! I never understood why they only played it once in the game. It's heroic and yet tense at the same time, and invokes a feeling of "danger" I can't quite describe, and which this remaster captures perfectly. I absolutely love it, can't wait to use it in my D&D game! I have only 2 small critiques: at the beginning, the background strings are not playing quick, punchy notes like in the original, which I think really would have contributed to the tense feel. Also, I miss the gong at 1:31. Keep up the awesome work!
I have a playlist that repeats when Im playing video games. In no particular order: FFT Decisive Battle FFX Contest of Aeons FFX Enemy Attack FFX Battle with Seymore FFX Run FF7 Battle Theme FF8 Battle Theme And then when i'm playing a game thats PvE and i'm farming materials I usually play Saga Frontier Lute's Theme. Usually pumps me up when im playing PvP games and I get top three at least. And for farming Lute's Theme from Saga Frontier calms me down and I can farm for hours.
It's free on bandcamp: jacobshrum.bandcamp.com/album/final-fantasy-tactics-remastered
Hey i think the upload mightve messed up, its just a glitchy green screen (Music is fine tho)
Random person playing FFT:
"This game is easy!
I didn't even needed the tutorial!"
THE Battle at Dorter slums:
"Oh, my sweet summer child~"
This song/level decides, if you’re really prepared for this game..

It definitely helps the dorter battle standout all the more, but seriously it is odd they didn’t reuse it. Who knows 🤷♂️

I've thought about doing some remixed Saga Frontier stuff. I have a lot of nostalgia for those games
@@JacobShrum It's an amazing game!
You really need to add the FFIV boss theme to that list
finally its happened!incredible!!!)))
Thanks! 🙏 This was a highly anticipated one, glad you enjoyed it!
It's so epic.
Thanks for listening! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I have never felt compelled to comment on a youtube video before, but this is incredible your sound mix is amazing. Well done
I was looking for this ost before! haha! Thanks! Good work!
Yeah this has been requested a few times I think. It's a good one! Thanks for listening!
best song in the game, hands down
Yeah. Too bad these battles were never decisive. When this played it was going to be long.
This is amazing! As a huge fan of Final Fantasy Tactics I loved this, some songs are way better than original, like Shop for example.
You gave the track the length it deserved which the OST fell short on. I'd call this one a 95% success with very minor flaws.
hardest fight in the game. that and the final Balk fight in mullonde, where even TG cid falters...
Not velius? i had soo many game overs on his fight
**Dorter intensifies**
And it is VERY intense if you aren’t ready lol
So guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud!
Thanks for the listen, man✌️ Happy that people are liking this one
Damn Jacob killed this track in tha studio! Sounds so better than the original.
Thanks, man! Gotta put that time and effort in for the fans 💪
Masterpiece
Would love it if Final Fantasy Tactics & Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together were brought over to the Nintendo Switch. 😁
You and me both 🙂
beautiful!
My boi! Epic!!
This one was a lot of fun! Love those bombastic tracks
I demand MP3's or Spotify at least
I'll get around to it. Quite busy atm so it may be a while haha.

Do you have any videos explaining your process? this is seriously so good!
