    I don't know if you know this but Sleeping At Last is doing a series of songs based on each number. And he has a podcast called the Sleeping At Last podcast, where he breaks down why he picked the lyrics for each enneagram and the research that he did with experts for the songs...it's so beautiful. You should give both a listen. He's currently working on 7!

    Knowing my husband's enneagram type has explained why I have always kind of felt like I didn't completely understand him or feel like I know him. It's because 3s very rarely share their emotions and as a 4 I value them but he never seems to have any. Thank you Nikki for telling me about the emotions wheel, it's been helpful.

    I was extremely skeptical about the beginning of this video. However, I found this test online and I'm a 6 (which is ironic, because we're less trusting and more skeptical). You're right, it's scary how accurate I am with my number. Like I've always said Mulan is my favorite and I relate so much to her. And someone did an analysis of how she's actually a 6. Also, my personality is ISFJ which is completely a 6 on the scale. I'm a true believer of this test now. Thank you for this video and for introducing me to something completely new.

    OMG 6 is me... the website says that 6s are a bundle of opposites, "They are both strong and weak, fearful and courageous, trusting and distrusting, defenders and provokers, sweet and sour, aggressive and passive"... no wonder the Myers Briggs never worked for me and I always got different answers. THANK YOU

    Great video! I'm an 8w7 and my tritype is 874 or 847, or some variation of those three. The way the tritypes work is that you have one number in each head, heart, and gut that you relate to most strongly (so, your tritype is probably not 764, Nikki, even though you can still def be a 7w6!). Sometimes it feels like my 7 is a lot stronger than the others, and same with the 4, so I realllllllly really find the tritypes helpful to explain the variations in my personality & reactions to things in different areas/times of life!
    I think the relationships aspect of the enneagram is SO fascinating and I'm always looking for more info on what pitfalls my husband & I might run into or how we can support each other and strengthen each other in our relationship, based on our strengths & weaknesses. So fun!!

    Oddly enough I have never heard of this! Once you started getting into it I opened a new tab to start reading each description! Interesting stuff. #4 really resonated with me! So many of the points in #4 were like spot-on. As I was reading I was like... "ooohhhhh yeah that's me." hahaha

    I kind of just put this talking video as like a podcast to listen to and I then looked more into the Enneagram and found out a lot about myself, like how you said "being able to put words to it". So yeah definitely do another video about it sometime! Also a link to a proper enneagram test would be great. Thanks!

    I had never heard of this so I immediately took the test! My results were shockingly right on point! I am a 4, but can be mistaken for a 5. I answered very truthfully and the results gave me the most detailed personality I am. Thanks for sharing I am obsessed with this topic now. As I was taking the test I noticed that my answers today have changed drastically from when I was younger because of life circumstances.

I've had a lot of fun exploring the enneagram since you mentioned it in a video. Wow this video really blessed me Nikki. I didn't know what the enneagram was until I heard it 3 times from 3 different sources in one day. I took that as a sign from God and decided to take the test. I am a 2, which I figured because I am in love with helping and supporting others. This video blessed me in understanding why God would put this on my heart.

    I would really love it if you gave more information about what you think are good resources to read or listen to about this stuff. Websites or podcasts specifically relating to this topic. And also can you recommend some good pod casts or reading material about maybe philosophy or religion (religion for someone who doesn’t necessarily know a lot about it or believe in something specific) or just some interesting stuff! I relate to you because I’m also very sensitive and emotional and I like to dive deep into information and learn about life and this kind of stuff. Hope that wasn’t too confusing but I love you so much you’re such an inspiration to me. Thank you for being you ❤️❤️

    I first discovered the enneagram over a year ago and nobody in my circle knew what it was. Being a christian, sometimes these type of things (personality tests) can seem too much like horoscopes to the outsider. I got a lot of eyerolls and sometimes backlash about the enneagram bc people thought it was like a horoscope which many christians don’t believe in (neither do I). I’m a 9w1 and 9s have trouble verbally explaining things in a concise way so I ended up rambling when trying to explain that the enneagram is such a vital tool. I LOVE that you came on youtube and spoke about your experience with the enneagram bc I honestly am still learning new things about my type that COMPLETELY floor me. It’s absolutely insane to me how something can be so accurate to my life and experiences. My favorite thing about the enneagram is exactly how you said it puts your desires, wishes, thought processes, fears, tendencies and perspective into words that you never would have noticed otherwise. I am constantly catching myself letting others make decisions simply bc I’m afraid of conflict and what could happen if I decided on the restaurant for dinner and i’m like “stop being such a 9!” I always wondered why I am so dang tired, exhausted and lacking energy ALL the time and I found out that’s a 9 thing! I read that 8,9,1 are the gut triad and their emotional struggle is anger and I literally said to myself “what!? i’m not an angry person!” and the very next sentence said “9s are asleep to their anger and don’t know it’s their emotional struggle” and it helped me understand that on the VERY rare occasion when I do get mad, my body instinctively makes me cry. Crying isn’t usually correlated with anger but it is for me! Also read that 9s tend to go numb in situations where they have no control over the peace and that we go to food, tv and books when we are numb-also me to a t!! I am constantly asking my friends to take the test and figure out their numbers bc I was able to build a stronger relationship with me and a friend bc we knew how each other thinks and our instinctive reactions to things.....and then I read that 9s like to push the enneagram on their friends😂 so it’s literally never ending the amount of jaw dropping moments I experience on my journey with the enneagram. Also I LOVE that it’s blown up in Nashville bc I’ve been wanting to move there for about 3 years now!!

  • @Xthewp

    I loved this video and before I even finished I went, took the test and found out I am a 2. Then I sent the test to all my friends so I could know theirs. My boyfriend found out he was an 8 and before he took the test I guessed he would be. Then we read the descriptions and we were blown away by how on par they were. And not only that, it feels personal and it’s almost like you’re being called out on the things you know you do, or you know are like you, but you don’t like to admit. And now I’m just obsessed with it, and could honestly see myself using it as therapy and counseling for myself when I’m having a rough time. And my friends couldn’t believe what they were hearing about their numbers and ahhh! Nikki! Thank you for doing this video and I hope you do another one soon. Love ya 💕

    im a 6 with a 5 wing and an INFJ on Myers-Brigg! i heard about the enneagram from Annie F. Downs' podcast (she's a 7 and lives in Nashville too) and she has had some people on her podcast that are experts on the enneagram and every guest is asked what they are. but you should give the the podcast a listen, it's so great! also Sleeping at last (ryan) is currently writing songs based on the enneagram numbers and they are so powerful (I was in tears at atlas:six) and he has a podcast where he explains the writing process and even musical components of the song along side an expert that does a more thorough explanation of the number!

    I've never heard of this before, and I will be checking it out. I love personality tests and learning more about myself especially more so now that we've moved to the Atlanta area and I am going through a job search (ughhh what a challenge that's been). I can understand the humor behind being at your best is being grateful and appreciating the smaller things in life as a 7. However, at the same time that is such a blessing and something that many strive for, and it may come more naturally to you. It's only when we are truly grateful and content with what we do have that we can truly make a meaningful impact on this world.
    On a side note, I just took a 36 question test to find my enneagram number, and it came back with 2, 7, and 5. I read through all of them and it's pretty tough deciding which is most like me because there are good chunks of the 7 and 5 that fit really well, and I'm definitely mostly a 2.

Not only do I feel like personality tests turn out accurate for me but just a couple years ago I looked up my astrology birth chart (because my friend loves astrology) and it’s so accurate for me too. And numerology. And I’ve looked up the charts and numbers for my family, friends and boyfriend and it’s all pretty accurate for each person.

      Sheila Kelly- Very cool! I took the Eclectic Energies one and I scored equally for 5 and 6. I'll have to do research to try and figure out if I'm 5w6 "The Problem Solver" or 6w5 "The Defender". Do you find that you also relate to type 2?

    • @sheilariannon
      @sheilariannon 6 років тому

      Ohhh, yeah my 6 score was higher for sure. But yes! Type 2 was way up there too, I think it was actually my second highest. I definitely relate to that one lots. Do you know your Myers-Briggs type? Mine for that is INFJ

    • @sarahd6822
      @sarahd6822 6 років тому +1

      Yes! I'm an INFJ as well! I saw a few people comment on here saying they were INFJs but with a different number. I bet we think really similarly. I sometimes watch videos from Frank James, fellow INFJ, and he and his comment section give great insight. I took the Personality Plus test that Nikki mentioned and my results were 77% Melancholy and 74% Phlegmatic.

    • @sheilariannon
      @sheilariannon 6 років тому

      Wow, I was 77% melancholy too! But my phlegmatic was 69%. I bet we do think a lot alike! How cool!

    When you talked about that girl who you felt you’re similar to, that’s kind of how I feel about you. I know that might come across a bit creepy, but it’s true 🤷‍♀️ So I already knew I’m an enfp and I just checked the enneagram and I think I might be a seven too. Thanks for this explanation, it was really helpful.

    You should totally actually pay to take the test on the Institute’s website. I was convinced I knew my number based on just reading descriptions, and then I took the time to take the test (it’s like $5) and I was way off and actually learned a lot more about myself by finding out what the test says I am vs what I thought I was.

    I'm a social scientist and i just want to say that in terms of personality the only valid and scientific personality tests are those that are based on the Big 5 personality structure. The rest aren't valid and aren't honestly that useful. The Myers Briggs and so on are Nope... I don't know about this test but I wouldn't call it personality

    I guessed that Dan was a 5! That's what my husband is too! I think it was in "The Road Back to You" that he said 5s made good pilots and my husband has his pilot's license, but didn't wind up going into aviation as a career. (I typed this before you said Dan wanted to try being a bird for a day. LOL). I'm a 9. We're a pretty mellow pair. 😄 I think that 9 and 7 has the dislike of conflict in common. I'm somewhat new to this stuff too. It's super interesting though. 😊💖

    I had to take the test twice because my numbers were a tie. When I took it again it made sense because I'm a 9. it says that that 9's have a little of each number. This was cool! I did this test called True Colors in school, you should check it out. I'm gold! P.s. I like talking videos because it's were hanging out chilling. 🙂🙂🙂
