    YesStyle is located in Hong Kong and they sell Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese beauty so it gets confusing which is which! Our local grocery store sells Hada Labo products (only the sunscreens are missing), so I don't need to wait for shipping to get it (and they're cheaper than YesStyle as well). I've been getting the refill packs and they're so convenient to have.

    Hi Sarah, yes , this is my current toner in the morning routine 🙌🏼🤗I do find it “milky” as the product description says but is great. I bought it especially for the Arbutin so I won’t have to add another separate Arbutin serum. But I got the refill 😉 worked out cheaper by couple of £ ( in UK ) and I have decanted in another empty bottle . Now, this is a first time I know something that you were unsure of 💪🏼 The reason why the Japanese products have the extra sticky label in the lid or at the top of the bottle is because that shows how many times that product has won the Best of the year award . You will see a number and like a little golden crown in it ☺️

    Is there a Hada Labo product that isn't good? Seriously, every product of theirs I've used has been serious holy grail potential. Also, an easy way to visually decipher between Japanese and Korean, Korean has many many more circles in their characters, and Japanese characters can get very complex with lots of strokes. That's how I always tell and it hasn't failed me once lol.

    I have use this one (with alpha arbutin), the dark blue lotion (with Tranexemic acid), and the gold/yellow one (diff kinds of Hyluronic acids). Definitely a great product and made a big difference in the hydration of my skin (I know that because when I stopped using for a week, my skin was like a prune). The same product comes in different texture, and you can actually mix them together. So I mixed the tranexemic light lotion (dark blue pkg) with the hyluronic acid premium (gold pkg) to get the texture I getting the benefit of both.

      Sorry those ones I was referring to in my comment are the ‘toner’ version in this same line. I have tried the milky lotion one you are reviewing as well but I prefer the lighter ‘toner’ texture you just need to splash it on. The packaging in this line of hado labo product are very confusing as they have sooooo many versions and variations, unless you read japanese, it’s hard to differentiate.

    I love Hada Labo but I tend to prefer their toning lotions (the shittori ones) over the milky lotions, I think they layer more easily and can be used immediately after cleansing on damp skin.
    I am currently using the arbutin lotion in the morning and tranexamic acid one in the evening. Honestly they should just mix them together and have a single brightening line instead of keeping arbutin and tranexamic acid on separated products.
    Having said that, the creams from these two lines are bad. Not occlusive or thick enough and very shiny/oily. But overall you can't go wrong with hada labo, very simple but highly moisturizing formulas.

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  3 роки тому +2

      I couldn't agree with you more- having one brightening product would be much better for consumers- especially consumers with different types of pigmentation/brightening issues. I'd much rather have a mix of brightening ingredients than have to choose between which one it use.

  • @alterlove359

    Hada Labo is such an under-rated brand. I love all their milky lotions! They keep changing their formulations though. The one I have contains Tranexamic Acid instead of Arbutin.

    • @NOBSBeauty
      @NOBSBeauty  3 роки тому +2

      It does seem like the changes things very often. Missha does the same thing Werth a lot of their products and it gets a little annoying. I get they want to "upgrade " them but sometimes I'd rather just have the version I used before.

      Shirojyun line has arbutin while shirojyun premium line has tranexamic acid. I think the premium line is more effective on me but arbutin is potentially more suitable for the AM so I am currently using both of them.

      The moist versions have the word "rich" mentioned at the back of the packaging (near the top) in Japanese. Whereas, the light version will not mention it. You can use that to differentiate between the two Shinryojin lotions. Tina Tanaka Harris made a detailed video on all Hada Labo versions and she pointed this out because she can read Japanese.

    Hi Sarah I think I'm the only one that doesn't really like Hada Labo, but my skin just isn't keen on a load of HA tbh. I haven't tried this particular product, but the products I have tried haven't worked for me. I'm super dry/sensitive though and live in Scotland.
    Instead i'm trialling some of the Curel line - the cleanser and the rich toner. Just started with them this week, but no issues with irritation on my rosacea and eczema prone skin. the gel cleanser/makeup remover takes off makeup pretty well (although I always double cleanse) and the rich toner feels like thick water - it is very liquid, but feels like it has some substance to it. I'll try the cleansing oil soon. I'm still patch testing TO 8% Asc acid and arbutin, but so far so good - no irritation on patch testing identified. Best wishes.

      I'm not big into HA either, I'll include in but I don't seek it out, that's for sure, and it is everything these days. Really enjoy some of hada labos cleansers and their toners that are fragrance free.

      @@NOBSBeauty I haven't tried the cleansers, but the lotion/toners don't work for me - nor do the sheet masks. I get rebound dehydration from them and sometimes irritation. In the Winter especially, but i tried a sheet mask lately in the humid weather we've been having (90% humidity) and felt dry afterwards (despite using a moisturiser over the top). I don't know what it is about the brand as the INCI lists look absolutely fine, but it's a no from me. I'm in the minority though and that's fine, as I'm happy it works so well for pretty much everyone else. x

      Hada labo is cruelty free but the items sold in China are required by the Chinese government to pass animal testing. The problem is China that still requires animal testining for most of cosmetic products that are produced abroad.
      Also keep in mind hada labo is owned by Rohto mentholatum which is a pharmaceutical company that produces drugs so they still do animal testing.
      Unfortunately unless we ban animal testing entirely and switch to in vivo testing on humans and testing on stem cells produced tissue it's something that can't be avoided unfortunately.
