Hi thanks for the install video. Do I have to add servo buddy and/or flash the ECU? My bike didn’t start today one day after the install and I put the battery on tender and it started. Wondering if the new exhaust is causing the battery to drain?? Any help is most appreciated

I just got this for my ninja 650 2022 and my dealer is saying its going to be hard to change the oil filter... they are saying they have to remove the whole system everytime just to change the oil filter. is there a solution? or are they lying?
WOW 😣 I never thought of that. I noticed that when I was putting on headers and I was like wait a minute too close but that's another project for another time 🙄
@@AngelGarcia-oc5rs I just found out You can remove the filter with a different tool like strap tool... But The Kawi Dealers use the Kawi recommended tool which you cannot put fit with the Yoshi Headers. I actually bought another 650 Original Exhaust so I will cut the headers and fit it as a slip on...
So it seems that Bazaaz doesn't have a fuel tuner for a 2017-19 Ninja 650? I have an 18 and I'm trying to figure out the best route so that I can buy a full exhaust.
would it still sound awesome if I only do slip on? I am a newbie rider and I do not want to mess with the power commander, flash ecu or something along those lines.
On my stock exhaust, there are copper rings but they don't come off of it, it's all part of the header, i already have the whole thing installed, it's tight...do i need to worry about copper rings?
@@Tremonte thanks for the reply. I don't see anything left over from this install. There were copper looking rings on the stock exhaust, but they didn't come off... They are part of the header, the new one is installed and there are no extras parts anywhere. They must have been in there and I didn't notice. Everything is nice and tight and secure.. This exhaust sounds amazing. What a PIA to install the db killer tho, I kept dropping the screw and washer into that little hole on the side of the exhaust can.. I had to take the can back off and fish it out. 😆 I'm just leaving in the db killer in for now, but man without the silencer this Yoshi exhaust will wake the Dead!!!! I love it so far

take the plastic sprocket cover off on the left side. Behind a rubber flap, you will find the O2 connector. Unplug it there and then you can freely spin it. First 60 seconds of the video shows where. ua-cam.com/video/CxDCjSanGAo/v-deo.html
No, the bends on the down pipe and mounting points are different. I tried to line up a set to see if it would work, but there are clearance issues. If you had a way to safely bend the down pipe, it could be possible.
Could you record sound with silencer? I do not like loud bikes, but overall sound is better. I wounder if this sound will be same with silencer onli quieter or it will be hell of a difference. Also is it quieter that original?
It is a bit quieter, but no where as quiet as the stock sound. It's really hard to get the actual sound so you guys have a true idea. I just picked up a nice audio recorder, so I will do a comparison soon.
Has anyone changed the oil filter with the Yoshi pipes on? Looks like getting a ratchet on the filter is going to be a tight fit... will be a pain if the headers need to be taken off to change the oil.
Yep, I use a torque wrench and torque to the manual specified 12.9 ft lbs when I had the stock exhaust. Guess I just wont use the torque wrench next time.

Tremonte I have the same bike and I’m suppose to get my exhaust tomorrow and my only question is what are the torque specs for all the bolts you have to torque down to a certain spec. I can’t find anything on most of them so any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the middle of this Yoshi install on'19 ninja 650 and I'm having a hard time fitting the exhaust bracket with the supplied spacer etc, there's not enough room! Help!! Tremont any suggestions? Edit: I need to call Yoshimura, there's definitely a difference between the '18 and '19 Ninja 650 in terms of the width the exhaust mounting holes are spaced. Motoworks sent me a Yoshi pipe manufactured in 2018, and this aluminum spacer is just a little bit too big. I bet there new ones come with 2 diff size spacers, smaller one for 2019. I cannot get the exhaust mounting bolt hooked up, the ones don't have enough space to all fut together so I can insert the long mounting screw. I'm so pissed, my bike is apart and this time of night I can do shit about it. I had to stuff some clean rags into the engine exhaust holes 2nd Edit: holy crap, I got the exhaust installed by myself this time! It was a pain in the ass, but I reversed what the instructions said, i did spacer, then bushing, then bracket and I was able to wedge the bracket in, once the spacer and bushing were lined up. This actually helped and worked out better because there hanger for better to the bracket..if I followed instructions, I think i would have had a problem hiking up the exhaust can and hanger to the bracket. Anyway, it looks sick, it's nice and straight and sounds mean as hell

Tremonte I’ve got the black widow system on it. The engine light comes on and stays on after it has been started but the red worning light stays off thinking it could be something to do with the o2 sensor will be contacting the Kawasaki dealer today
9:33 it's fairly self-explanatory. Slip bracket over canister, and use the bolt provided to attach on the flange where the nut on the stock exhaust bolt ran across.
I know you've mentioned it in your videos, but can you truly slap this exhaust on with no ECU tuning and be able to ride it without future engine problems? I want it, but I don't want it to destroy my bike in the long run. Especially since I've got the 3-year warranty and wouldn't want to be denied if it runs lean enough to destroy pistons and what not. I'm interested in getting an ECU flash done, but the aftermarket for the 2017s is still trying to catch up so there's not much out there right now.
+YNRChewmiester by the results I got on the dyno, and by what Yoshimura claims, you do not need a fuel controller. You will be missing on some power gains and throttle response no doubt. If you run the Yoshimura with the baffle in, it runs less lean than it would without. The Yoshimura is also a Kawasaki approved aftermarket exhaust and I was told that as long as you didn't crack open the engine and mess with the internals, you would not void the manufacturer warranty.

You remove things a lot, here in the Philippines we dismantle the stock exhaust without removing those things except the stock exhaust and replace it with a new one.
I use a tablet when I watch and listen to your motor vlog. It's kinda like and in between a mobile phone and a PC. But i can hear deeper sound from your Yoshimura exhaust.

The reason I went with Yoshimura is due to the relationship Superbike Unlimited has with the company, the price point for dollar to horse power over the other brands, and they advertised the dyno results up front. We will be doing our own dyno and posting personal gains soon. If a team like SBKU runs the same pipes on track proven, and series winning bikes, it's gotta be good stuff. :) And yes, I can tell a difference without tuning already. The bike responds much better in the upper RPM ranges.
Ryan Ford All full system exhaust are illegal since they don't have a catalyst converter. However slip ons are allowed. Most people get full system exhaust and don't get in trouble because cops are not going to know the difference.
In many places they're not street-legal, but you won't get in trouble because bikes don't go for emissions testing and the cops won't pull you over and inspect if you're not riding like a dingus.

The 2017/2018 Z650 and Ninja 650 are solid welded exhausts. There are no slip-ons for these bikes. You have to install the full system.

The copper rings are exhaust gaskets. The new exhaust should have co e with new ones. And you do need them.

+Scott Angel standard strap wrench to break free and no issues. Oil filters aren't suppose to be too tight or you can collapse them.

The only ones to worry about are the header bolts. Torque between 15-18 ft-lbs

Turns out it is normal once an aftermarket exhaust has been fitted and a servo Buddy is required to bi pass the fault
If you have a Ninja 650/Z650, there isn’t an exhaust servo in the system to bypass.

There wasn’t much difference after the exhaust. The Rapid Bike ECU that I installed let’s me dial it back though.

In California, as long as the sound decibel is over 80 db it is an illegal to have on bike.

I didn't need new gaskets. The bike was brand new at the time of install, and the existing ones were in good shape.
