      That’s awesome 🤩. Thanks for watching and good luck saving yourself some money doing it yourself. The triple square bolts are extremely difficult to remove. Before you remove them, see if the rotor will slide off without removing the triple square bracket. Just try it. If not you’ll have to remove the triple square bolts. I’ve heard that some models actually have enough room to slide the rotor out. Good luck 👍🏼💯😎

    Hello very useful and helpful video.
    I would like to add that particular years (2015 Passat in my case) may have the possibility of 2 different styles of brake pad. If you are reasonably capable of doing this job yourself, then I would recommend popping the wheel off and taking a close look at which rear brake pad you need before ordering. Unfortunately for me I was beyond the return window by the time I found out.

    • @grind-it-out

      Brake pads usually almost touch. They break in. Don’t tighten your slide pin bolts too tight. They need to be smooth and slide back and forth. The bracket bolts can be real tight. I have the torque specs in the video. Everything should be fine. Don’t worry

    • @grind-it-out
      @grind-it-out  Рік тому +3

      No don’t use in the place of purple lubricant. The purple is specifically for external moving parts. The dielectric is for the guide pins. Because it’s silicone and it won’t damage the rubber boot. You can use any type of grease in place of the purple. But not for the guide pins. 👍🏼

    I can’t believe the engineers that designed the front axle were around when the clowns designed the rear. I picture the rear axle guys like, “nah, we want to ditch the extremely common 17 mm bolts that we used on the front for these super random triple square bolts that no-one has in their toolboxes. Oh, and scrap the extremely common squeeze-in calipers like we used on the front and use a screw-in deal so everyone has to make a second trip to the parts store for another completely unnecessary specialty tool.” I hope those guys get diarrhea on an international flight and the bathrooms are out…

      Thanks for the response. You have a diesel. I imagine the specs are different. Glad you found them. The carrier bolts I reuse mine. But VW says replace them. If they look good I reuse them. My brakes always work great. I appreciate the information. Hope all is well 😊

      Not yet. I want one but I have a warranty still. Don’t want to void it. But yea I really want a 3in downpipe. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

      Yes but I wanted performance rotors. The brakes didn’t need to be changed. I just wanted too. Hey. Thanks for watching. Consider Subscribing 👍🏼😁

      Only if you can slip out the rotors without removing the bracket. Some models you can. Hang in there 👍🏼😎

    Those square bolts holding the caliper are a b***h, I bought pb blaster but still haven't attempted the job job again, I lost all motivation.

      You really have to crank down on them. Use an extension on the ratchet like a pipe or something. Not much room to work with. Don’t give up. They will come out. It takes a lot. Try using a hammer to hit on the end of the ratchet. That usually works for me. Let me know. Good luck. 👍🏼. Thanks for watching. Consider subscribing please.

      Also make sure the triple square is all the way in the bolt. It slips out easily.
