Child abuse can happen with boys too . One of my friend was a victim of child abuse he told me about he was sexually abused by one of his family member. When he was telling me his incidence he cried a lot in front of me . A proson who ruined his a childhood has no regret . And my friend lived his childhood in dark . I was also in tear that time 😥 .
I am also a victim of. This when I was 14 there was a driver of ours who worked at my home from when I was 5 he was like a family member one day he touched me wrong places and I ran away I wanted to tell my parents but I was too embarassed and then he kept doing that again and again and then one day in a TV program I saw a similar case and how the abuser got punished then I told all these things to one of my friend he supported me then and then I decided to put an end to this few days later when the driver tried to do the same thing I pushed him and slapped him on face he was shocked and I screamed so hard that my father came running to the garage I started beating that jerk with stick after I saw my father I ran to him a cried and told him everything . After he got punished took counciling sessions and now I'm much more of a confident person I still feel disgusting about everything but then I feel relieved that I spoke it out

I’m almost thirteen rn, I remember in 2015 when I was 5 in UKG this video was shown in our class. I’m thankful to my school for showing us this video and it really helped us understand the basic concept of good and bad touch. Idk why I’m watching it again after 8 years but I’ll just say it’s an Amazingly simple and easy to understand representation of such a big and complex issue.

This is very special and I think, indeed, every child should be shown this video and taught that: a) It's not your fault and it's okay for people to know about a past trauma like this. b) Anyone, even your very much trusted family members can make you the victim. Hence, don't feel bad about it. Assault is neither a misunderstanding nor a game when it comes to absolutely ANYONE. c) And finally, this is not just bounded to girls. They should show this video to kids in school- it explains sexual abuse perfectly. I remember when I was a kid our school had this option for kids to stay back after school in case our parents couldn't pick us up or were working (I lived in a place were babysitters weren't found easily). It wasn't at school- they had an entire separate building jus for those few hours everyday, and I'd stay back a lot. One day (I was like 7 at the time) I was playing dress up with all my friends and I went behind the curtains to change and I needed help so I called one of my friends' names. But instead a bunch of older guys came in and I tried to ask them to leave, they didn't. One of them kept insisting he'd help and well, in the process, he did shit I don't think I need to explain. I had no clue what sexual abuse was until 5 years later when they showed us this very video in our school (yes I did change schools dw). I was bullied a lot too so I pretty much thought it was normal, even though it felt so wrong I thought it wasn't that bad. I didn't even realise how bad it was till later on in my life. I haven't told a soul till date cuz no one cares about smth that happened so long ago and I don't even remember or know who it was or where he is now. Goes to show how imp it is to educate kids at a young age.

Being a social worker and a mother often I feel helpless too when I see children in distress situation. Many times I have called in 1098 but no response apart from a recorded voice came. I have taken care of my child, he is five and he knows how to seek help and get attention when he is feeling threatened, but what about other children? Its a humble request to Child line to strengthen your network so that whenever children need help you can stand by them.

They should show this video to kids in school- it explains sexual abuse perfectly. I remember when I was a kid our school had this option for kids to stay back after school in case our parents couldn't pick us up or were working (I lived in a place were babysitters weren't found easily). It wasn't at school- they had an entire separate building jus for those few hours everyday, and I'd stay back a lot. One day (I was like 7 at the time) I was playing dress up with all my friends and I went behind the curtains to change and I needed help so I called one of my friends' names. But instead a bunch of older guys came in and I tried to ask them to leave, they didn't. One of them kept insisting he'd help and well, in the process, he did shit I don't think I need to explain. I had no clue what sexual abuse was until 5 years later when they showed us this very video in our school (yes I did change schools dw). I was bullied a lot too so I pretty much thought it was normal, even though it felt so wrong I thought it wasn't that bad. I didn't even realise how bad it was till later on in my life. I haven't told a soul till date cuz no one cares about smth that happened so long ago and I don't even remember or know who it was or where he is now. Goes to show how imp it is to educate kids at a young age.

Being a social worker and a mother often I feel helpless too when I see children in distress situation. Many times I have called in 1098 but no response apart from a recorded voice came. I have taken care of my child, he is five and he knows how to seek help and get attention when he is feeling threatened, but what about other children? Its a humble request to Child line to strengthen your network so that whenever children need help you can stand by them.
I would love to teach this things to my future kids

I remember this was shown in my school for social awareness when I was in class 4... Whole class saw this animation... We were kids we enjoyed it as an entertainment as any activity in school rather than studies make u feel exicted but now know I see, this was something darker than entertainment 🙂💓✨
