Nancy Sinatra was so gorgeous and sexy back in the 1960's-1980's! And she has one of the most beautiful and underrated singing voices of any female singer! I love her song, "You Only Live Twice" from the 1967 James Bond film of the same title. It is a well-known story that she was so nervous singing that song for John Barry that she couldn't sing the song all the way through perfectly and Barry had to piece together segments of her vocal performance in order to make a seemless, smooth recording for the film! I guess the huge popularity of the Bond films and the main title songs for the films during the Bondmania period in the 1960's made her feel so much pressure to make a great recording of that superb song that she couldn't relax at all during the recording of the song.
@Uriel mendivil Yeah, whatever. Nancy Sinatra wasn't really singing, she was holding some notes and her father was Frank. You may not like the music of some of today's singers (especially black or black sounding singers), but that does mean that they suck. I don't Nancy is a shining example of singing prowess.
@Uriel mendivil Really, Jamie Foxx, Wayne Brady, and Queen Latifah all have excellent singing voices. T Pain without autotune has an incredible singing voice. I don't even like Ariana Grande, but, she can truly sing. Honestly, I don't think you know anything about good singers, musicians, or even music for that matter.
@Uriel mendivil yeesh I was just saying this time period didnt have autotune or anything and you needed to be genuinely good to garner an audience. Not hating on current singers with actual talent.
My father and mother took us to see Nancy at the Indiana State Fairgrounds during this time. I was 8 so it is a spotty memory. I remember her singing Boots tho✨
Back in '66 we were wearing tight ski pants. They weren't really as tight as leggings today, but hers look like it. That show's theme tune is a classical piece but *I* know it as Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah by Alan Shermen.
The presenter remarks on children of famous people coming under the limelight, and jokes about Nancy being the daughter of somebody who made a bit of a name for himself, some guy by the name of Sinatra who was seemingly enjoying a status of minor prominence somewher abroad, perhaps in the last couple of years or so... After introducing her, he brings up the subject of Nancy's ancestry, which Nancy duly reveals. The presenter then quips about his program featuring - after all - lots of Italian performers, though sometimes in disguise. He then tries to get some Italian speech off her, which she kind of fails at. Then he remarks about what huge hit the song she's about to sing was at the time. During the sixties, Italian television featured several artists and performersfrom the USA and UK. USA were perceived as friendly and appreciative of Italian people, and the memory was still fresh of their help to Italy after WW2 (notwithstanding the Italian government having come out - just a a few years before - with that big idea of waging war onto them). Everything from the USA back then was regarded as posh, and this video illustrates one of the many instances of the above. I was a child then, and still remember it. Greetings from Italy.
