Gilberto Amauri de Godoy Filho, known as Giba (born 23 December 1976), is a Brazilian former professional volleyball player who played as an outside hitter. For much of the 2000s, he was widely regarded as one of the best volleyball players in the world. During his professional career he played in Brazil, Italy, Russia, Argentina and briefly in the United Arab Emirates. He is mostly remembered for his successes with the national team.[1]
With the Brazilian National Team he won a total of 8 South American Championships, 3 America's Cups, 8 World League titles, 3 World Grand Champions Cups, three World Championships (2002, 2006, 2010) and the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he was the team's captain.[2]
During summer 2014, Giba retired from professional volleyball at the age of 37.

And Ricardinho was the best setter, a genious. Giba, Serginho and Ricardinho playing together was pure joy. Outstanding. It is a pity the coach Bernardinho didn't manage Ricardinho and the team well and put his son Bruninho in his place . It is a spot in the famous coach carreer. Brasil probably had got more gold medals instead of silver if Ricardinho was playing.
One thing that this guy hated the most is that when the ball touched the floor. Dude really love being everywhere on the court and play with his heart and give it all he got
The 2009 World League was incredible. Giba playing in masterclass, and the final was a war! Great times there 🇧🇷
looking at this today it's crazy how fast the game have become since then and to see young bruno and mikhaylov who are still dominant player today show the talent of these 2 as well

Giba playing with Ricardinho(setter) was pure music. He had to adapt to play with Bruninho that was not easy. Bruininho is the coach son. It is a spot in that coach career he cut the best player of the world that timr(the setter Ricardinho). When he did it, the biggest volleyball stadium in Brazil booed him( Bernardinho) and his son( Bruninho - who is playing in this game footage as setter). Ricardinho is the best setter Brazil ever had. Pity people all over the world was prevented to watch Ricardinho for a longer time.
