At least in volleyball, not being a sport where there is any real contact between adversaries, most tense moments consist of people just talking in relatively aggressive terms over the net. In many other team sports it gets much worse than that!

Eu fico de cara com a civilidade das grandes brigas entre jogadores de vôlei. Eles só falam ou chingam o adversário quando marcam ponto, para mostrar a superioridade física e desportiva. Se fosse no futebol, o zagueirão perdendo de 5 a zero, ia meter um carrinho por trás no atacante e o pau ia quebrar, briga generalizada mesmo. É outro esporte e outra cultura mesmo.

Look at the behavior of the Iranian player in 2:44 - he looks menacingly at focused/silent Kubiak after blocking his spike attempt, and then yells something (certainly not that he likes and respects Kubiak) to which the Pole reacted immediately... so who provoked whom? Kubiak kept his nerves in check in these "Iranian situations" anyway ... if anyone would insult my mother, daughter (which I don't even have... yet) and country, I'll stop giving a fuck about anything and attack him right away, cause that'd be too much for me to handle. Besides, why some nations immediately raise a minor quarrel to the rank of a full-scale conflict, in which no holds are barred? I understand sport provocation, but it has some limits. Kubiak never had a problem with any other nation. He always speaks respectfully about his rivals, but that day Iranians simply crossed certain line.

@@rafaelesantos7330 I myself am Iranian, and since 2014, when Iranian volleyball entered the League of Nations, I have seen all the games, and so far I have not seen Iran have a problem with any team except Poland, which is Kubiak and Poland, who started for the first time. Regarding the Brazilian team, there was a very short discussion that ended well with the cooperation of both teams. In any case, no team will reach Poland in this case, no team!!!
None of these battles can hold a light to the match between the woman's national teams from Brazil and Cuba in the semifinals of 96 Olympics.
