Got a set of Deity Deftraps and they are a great bang for your buck, I can't afford 200 bones for pedals, Deity actually cares about it's lower end models.
For me VP Harrier pedals give me all the grip I want. To much at first. So, I took the inside pins out. Now they are perfect. That puts them at the top of the list for me. And, they are very light.
I’m slightly duckfooted with a large 10.5 foot, and the Kona pedal is my all time fave . 10th place is very good for a pedal that’s been around for almost 15 years now
@@RiderP411 we've tested them, and we didn't get along with them too well. Not quite concave enough for their size, which gives them a bit of a vague feeling underfoot for us.
I am new to flats (I use them on my ebike) and after 30 year of clips I occasionally lose a flat pedal which then finds my shin. I am trying to find good knee pads that also cover the shin so I can reduce blood loss. I need a knee pad good for 4 hour XC rides. Comfort is a priority. So many reviews state that the pads they are reviewing not meant for long rides due to rubbing or heat. Can you do a review on full coverage knee pads intended for us regular trail riders that need comfort on long rides?
Shinburger meat is just part of the game when you ride flat pedals. You could wear shin guards if you want. Or go back to clipless. Just to clarify "full coverage" knee pads don't cover your shins. That would be "extra coverage". More protection usually means less comfortable. Many people climb with their knee pads around their ankles and pull them up for the descents.
@@lokmtb8503 G-Form makes Pro-Rugged Knee-Shin Guard. A couple of other companies make like guards. I would just like to see a review on some of these before I drop a big dime on a pair. Right now I wear my G-Form knee guards on my shins. I get more shin damage than knee damage from riding with flats.
@@vitalmtb Oh good to know you tested them ! I rode them until I build my dream bike. For that build I got different pedals and never get the confidence I had with Catalyst. In the end I re ordered a new set of Catalyst for my dream build. Thank you for taking the time to answer and sharing. And amazing work testing such a big amount of pedals
Was it an early pedal, from 2016 or so? We had that issue on the very first TMAC back then, but they've long since made some adjustments to the design and we've never seen the problem again (across multiple sets of pedals, multiple different riders over the span of several years).
@@ShadLifesome pedals just aren’t designed very well. Like oneup alloys, for example. I blew one of the bearing/axle assemblies up after servicing it a couple weeks before. There are plenty of reports online of the same thing happening. I’ve also seen reports of ppl bending the deity axles. Maybe they’re different now though. i like chromag daggas now
Won't ever run any pedal with a bushing for a bearing. Only sealed cartridge bearings for me. These slacking companies need to catch up to modern engineering.
Carbon e-bikes should be banned until there are universal motor and battery mounting geometries. These things are going to take up a lot of space at the garbage dumps…

Take a look at Catalyst pedals from Pedaling innovations. like geometron, it's the end where all the flat pedals are slowly morphing into.

Size 11 wide, can’t see anything that beats my NSB Daemon. I have 5 sets. No lie. The pins alone set them apart.

Agree, ive had Tmacs and Black Kats that didn’t last a year. Gave up on this brand. Shimano Saints- bombproof and great grip - just not trendy
