Nope, those cheaters were right since the first OW 1 launch, only back then they were staying mostly inside the metal ranks but, now after so many years of experience, those cheaters have been greatly improved. Also, as great cheating encouragement is, the teams (except the top 500) having at least one cheater amongst them are so enjoying being carried by those cheaters.

16:00 It's not torb as a hero that laggs the server. The reason you pick torb when performing ddos is that the turret is not affected by the lag, because the turret is server side
yes that's what we thought at first, but this looks like it's a weapon merging glitch, the same as mercy had a while back. the weapons - hammer and gun - being in torbs hand at the same time lags the server out just like when mercy held her pistol and staff at the same time. the turret is a bonus bc it can do dmg while everyone lags.
@@Star_Rattler That's just a visual side effect of ddosing the server. It has nothing to do with torb other than that his turret is unaffected by the lag.

If it's just a visual side effect then that rules out the hammer + gun merging as the cause of lag... unless the visual side effect is some global effect that gets triggered when you merge the weapons or something, so it happens for all Torb players, but I have no clue why that would be in the game.

I read somewhere that Torb’s turret isn’t affected by lag from ddos which is why every single ddos hacker picks him. If the anticheat can’t deal with the cheaters, at least temporarily ban Torb like they did Mei early on

They pick him because he the only character that can kill them while they have unicorn lagging the enemy. The torrent isn’t effected by the lag so it can still kill them

Dunno if you knew (probably did), but Mercy had a similar issue to Torb. It worked best on Attack on Paraiso, they fixed it now though, I think. Basically, if you crouched in the right spot, the game would respawn you as if you'd fallen out of bounds. If you did this enough times or just right, for whatever reason, her pistol would combine with her staff and it would hard lag the server.
She doesnt. The Mercy bug is actually caused by Mercy, Torb is only being used because his turret isnt affected by lag. Torb isnt actually causing it unlike Mercy

And the Mercy dying would make the lag worse.

bit at 13:00 (and before) where he’s just kinda randomly shooting while the server is lagging is likely because he’s not able to really see what’s happening either. the hope is that by holding fire down the aimbot takes care of anyone who still manages to find their way on to the point in spite of the server lag (and of course the turret as well)

I played a game where the entire enemy team was made up of cheaters, shooting me whilst i was invisible on sombra, rage hacking, every person on their team had walls. The state of the game is almost beyond repair. There is a cheater in every game at this point and if it's not on the enemy team it's on yours.
I dunno what rank you play in. But I don't think I've encountered one cheater yet. I've got about 30 hours game time im gold 3/4dps. If this was siege I'd have encountered probably 20+ by now
@anonyboi769 a massive majority of cheaters are actually sneaky about it (and not in gold lol), for every blatant one theres maybe 5-10 not so blatant ones

It's insane that with the amount of cheaters atm - that when you call somebody out who is blatantly cheating, a good chunk of the players in the community don't believe it. That is just as toxic to me, as the cheaters. :(
I saw a POTG yesterday for a player on my team. Instantly clocked it as a cheater. I can only hope other people will start to notice them more, but it's tough. People seriously just think you're being a whiner when you voice concern about someone in game cheating
Okay so hear me out... I have one year left and I will have my degree in cyber security. And what I've learned so far from years of doing programming and deciding to go back for cyber security made me realize that there are different types of hackers. I'm curious if he's doing this for fun or if he's actually hired by someone to do this. I know that sounds crazy, but you'd be surprised how many rival companies will hire people like this or if someone has a personal vendetta against the game or if he just thinks it's a blast and likes breaking games. Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if he's paid to do this.

I had those games where we're having a great time and right at the end, everything is lagging, two of my friends are kicked from the game and then we lose, there was one time where I was the one kicked out into a game where I was completely alone, no one else joined and my friends were stuck with 4 players in the previous room, while still in the party and no one else could join them
Is it actually torb that breaks the game or do they just pick torb so the turret can still damage people while everyone is lagging?
I Have a theory that the turret like a trigger fior the ddos, like i think they place turret, and do the weird weapon thing to trigger smth

the cheater merges both the hammer and gun into one weapon. while also placing turret. just causes game to go poof
My best guess is the overclock ability being used when changing weapons bricks the character model and the longer the model bricks, the more the server can't comprehend the model and shits itself
I don't think anyone has a solid answer to that. My question is, if it is Torb specifically, then why has Blizzard not disabled him? They've disabled characters much faster for far less. That leads me to believe there's something else there, but I'm definitely not sure.
THIS IS A MASTER PIECE. I hope Blizzard sees this and learns from what was shown how to identify these cheaters and does something.

The crash bug can be caused by every character who can swap weapons, so torb and mercy
Does dva count? She has 2 weapons but cant actually switch when she wants to.

Where she could have both pistol and staff appear equipped at the same time it did the same effect..
But this one seems to work on every map lol
This is the same glitch that Mercy had a few seasons ago. When a character has an alternate weapon and you somehow manage to combine those two into one, it lags the server from all the errors.
Lately I've been finding a LOT of smurfs on QP/low ranks. much more than what i used to see
I don’t think torb is causing the lag so much as he is literally the only character that can have the game be played for them. If you look at when he’s sitting on 4th point you can see that the only thing killing people is the turret.
Just a guess but that’s what it seems like to me, at least.

I never implied that Flats said he was using torb to kill people, *I* said that he was using torb to kill people. I pointed out that he was also missing a lot of his shots, and if you look at how he played, seemed like he wasn’t in full control because of how he was spamming, despite enemies sometimes not even being present.
I also never said that it was impossible torb was causing the lag, just that he’s the only character with a reliable way to get damage while lagging the server.

I actually don't think it is a torb specific thing. I'm pretty sure they just pick torb because while the server is lagging the turret inputs still happen and will just kill everyone and win the fights. It's why he goes to point and just throws a turret down that proceeds to kill 3 people. I don't think the lag and server crashing is caused by the character. The character just makes the idea 'work". But at the same time the hammer and gun out at the same time is similar to a mercy bug from before so it may actually be the character. Just doesn't seem that way to me because the mercy bug required both her pistol and staff to be out simultaneously the entire time the server would lag.
I feel like i've seen flats react to this exact video of the same cheater, same game, a while ago.
My brother keeps saying that people in our gold/plat lobbies aren't cheating when there is a soldier or cass not missing EVER. This is getting so annoying fr. I watch the damn replays, and they are so obvious it isn't even funny anymore. I just got back into the game since OW1.... this is beyond stupid.

@@travisweber4368 Lol. Not exactly, but for a streamer who is streaming on a regular daily schedule with an editor that is dropping daily content a two month old stream is a bit ancient. Videos are usually made a couple days or a week after the stream... not months. But there is a lack of OW content now so they had to take this one out.

I think the way you are going about bringing notice to the problem is correct. I think it helps two fold. One the more public it is the more likely blizzard will have to prioritize a fix. Two it helps the community know what to look for when something is sus in their games too and to report it.
This game is quite amazing these days with a choice between, rolled/getting rolled and about 10% of the time a balanced match. It doesn't look like blizzard cares about it anymore, just creating stuff for their shop.

i dont know if they use Torb because he causes the lag, or if they use Torb because he wins in the lag. it seems like the servers get lagged out like crazy which in turn makes everyone unable to move or aim, but Torb turrets are like a server side thing, so as far as the turrets are concerned the game is perfectly smooth. So the turrets wont miss but everyone else cant aim? Torb might also be the cause of the lag but the cheaters might just be using him because of how he thrives within laggy games.
Genuinely not even certain it's something to do with Torb: there's a lot to suggest it but my theory is just that they know to use Torb because the Turret will still be able to fight, it seems the person DDoSing still lags a bunch
and also torb doesnt rlly matter if it lags the turrets will auto aim wherever they are , so as the player u cant see anything or move but the turrets can just fine
The lag thing is still happening, including consoles. Got few rank games with this behavior on console, reported the one I tough was cheating and the next day got a blizzard msg saying thanks for the report and they took actions. They haven't fixed this in almost 2 months 🤦

I had a server lag out like this FOUR MONTHS AGO. Unfortunately the replay expired or I'd link it (it was BN94VM). Server lagged out, kicked everyone off except 2 people on both teams, I was actually able to keep playing 2v2 and finish the game. Escort map, the replay said it was a draw even though it also said 0-2 just like your replay did, except it told me it was a win when the game ended and gave me rank for it. So nothing agreed, from my POV it was a win, from the replay POV it said the word draw but gave a 0-2 score as if it were a loss. It makes me wonder if the DDOSer can keep playing and still get a win even when they crash everyone out of the server. I think the cheater was on the other team, but the 2v2 was 2 supports against 2 dps so we had a big advantage and won anyways after everyone else was kicked out.
I can't guarantee it was the same thing, I didn't notice whether there was a torb or not and can't go back to check, but this issue may have existed long before 1 month ago.
That is different and something that just happens sometimes. It's annoying, but every game has those hiccups where some players get kicked from a server while others maintain connection. Obviously, some games struggle with it more than others, but it is 99% of the time not influenced by the players in the game. What you describe is unlikely to have been a cheater and more likely to have been an issue with overwatch servers at that time.

I think they actually go torb because the turret seems to work perfectly still. So they start lagging the game once they have a turret up in a good spot and you can’t destroy it or block the damage properly

We are on what, 2 or 3 seasons now with no repercussions to cheating in OW2. It's in a very sad state at this point. You can rarely get a game without a cheater, and all the players can do is "report" it to a bot that sends back a thank you in a day or 2. It's getting harder and harder to want to keep playing this game.

You're exactly right, Flats. You have to talk about it. Blizzard needs to be shamed into taking action. If some loser gets brief attention, that's unfortunate, but if no one says anything they'll still take the attention they get from people hating on them in game. They have a real problem and need some therapy.

I can't even play the game anymore. Cheaters were a big issue, but then as of last week almost every single game I get disconnected from the server. If I don't get kicked I deal with horrific lag. Doesn't matter if it's comp or arcade, it always happens. I've done all of the troubleshooting steps and it did absolutely nothing. It's only Overwatch. All other online games I play run smoothly and don't drop.
I recently got an invite to do a blizzard survey and I said why play the game if your not gonna do anything about cheaters and only ban wave before an investors meeting to look good. Blizzard knows if they ban cheaters more often that their player count would look bad. It's a game people and we're just pawns in it.
I remember a while back Paladins had an epidemic of people using an exploit which would mass crash people's games or force-disconnect them. Eventually Hi Rez patched the exploit and it stopped happening.
Fucking Hi Rez was more on top of their shit than Blizzard is. HI REZ.

idk if it was ddos, but i was playing yesterday (silver-gold) and we won round, before second round i lost connection to overwatch for minute and when i came back my match wasnt exsisting, no lose, no win, no draw

It works with that the game cant decide wether torb has his gun out or his hammer which makes the computer that is doing the calculations to get stuck on that decision/pot and eventually crashing cus it cant find the answer its also the reason why its technically still going since it cant finish it so it just stays there
So THAT is what's been going on lately! the past month, i thought it was my own internet connection randomly lagging or my keyboard not working. a bit earlier this year there was a LOT of games where the server completely reset.
If they find out who is DDOSing they should be arrested as it is in a way criminal damage to the servers. But this loser will be behind a VPN or some shit.
Yesterday I was playing ow2 and there was a tracer which when ppl get near to her their ping was going high like 500ms I forgot to keep the replay code these kind of hackers are insane

if i had to gues it probably is some kind of glitch that makes the server lag by making it that the server thinks torb has both his hamer and his gun at the same time. we can also see how this guy is shooting it constantly which is probably what makes the server lag. and the reason they chose torb instead of mercy who also has 2 weapons would be the turret. its just speculation but it would make sense why we saw that torb have both his gun and his hamer in his hand while at the same time activating his e. with regular means this wouldnt be impossible to achieve but with outer means they all could be activated/switched to at the same exact time.
Anti-cheat team was either let go or reshuffled to different departments because of the layoffs, and now they've probably got 1 or 2 people left, scrambling to investigate the exploits the cheats are using
I played Qp last night and in all of my games there was always a ximmer 😅
And in one of the games I called the cheater out but the enemies team was fully protecting him to the point the rein was literally protecting him 😅
@@shinorokuma3383ong, I feel you. It's rare to meet them in comp, which is what's weirding me out - but qp is so, so bad rn. Especially late night. My friends and I ran into a 4 stack of ximmers. The S76 , Cass, Hog and the goddamn Mercy. Watching the replay and spectating her you could even notice them adjust their settings/input.
And if it's not that it's always a Widow, Ashe or Tracer with no skins and their Mercy kitten attached. So much for " We are going to do something about ximmers " 🙄
Seems like a collision glitch may be, to where when the hammer and gun are out at the same time. It causes the game to freak out because both shouldn't be out at the same time. I do know this is a bit of an issue in WoW, where if you collide with something just rigjt it causes the server to boot you from the game because it doesn't know what to do, could be the same principle st play except it lags the server instead.
This cheater probablem actually has gotten out of hand. In the past 2 years I didnt get a single cheater or at least not obvious one but just within the last 2 weeks I had 3 full hardlocking rage hackers and 1 soft locking cheater. I don't know if the torb thing is still in the game but I hope blizzard at least fixxed that by now but they still really need to do smth bc this is not helping their game at all
